Dana’s Housekeeping

The cleaning person came an hour early. She missed many places in her cleaning and did a so-​so job, but managed to use up all my cleaning supplies and paper towels. As she was leaving, she said she was not allowed to clean toilets without gloves. That should have been told to me BEFORE she came. No one told me that. I’ve had other cleaning services, but none so poor.

I didn’t have my house cleaned I just wanted all of my laundry folded organized closets n drawers etc…
It took her a lot longer than I thought it would and she didn’t put stuff where I asked her too I specified where workout clothes go and biking clothes n later I looked in all the drawers she basically put all the stuff in drawers but not separating my husbands shirts were in his underwear drawer and his long johns for boarding were with his shirts and pajamas were with shorts…
Given she folded mostly everything and fixing her errors weren’t hard but I really wanted my fridge clean and she didn’t have time n she didn’t finish my laundry
I cleaned my kitchen bathroom and front room and laundry room top to bottom while she folded clean clothes …
I would’ve been done in ½ the time
I also had maintenance come twice to fix my washer n my sink and was still able to finish scrubbing cabinets floors and counters and dishes from several days before she wAs even close to done
I scrubbed out my whole bathtub on my hands n knees

It was slow n more unorganized than I am which is why I wanted someone to come help me out but I ended up basically redoing it

I’ve used Dana’s twice now and so far, so good. The idea is that you are assigned a regular cleaner, so that someone gets to know you and your home and thus the service you get is tailored to your needs.
That didn’t quite happen in my case. For my initial cleaning, I used a special they were running whereby two cleaners came to the house and did a heavy duty cleaning. The house needed it, and they did a fairly good job. A few days after, Cathy followed up with me, and I decided to have one of the pair come back monthly. Unfortunately, she left the service not long after.
The good news illustrates the other positive part of using Dana’s — Cathy called me, and had another cleaner lined up for me. I was very happy with the work she did, and her communication, which was clear and polite.
I appreciate the way Cathy guided me through the process, providing me with a list of supplies to have on hand, and suggesting a written list of instructions so the cleaner knows my priorities. She has been very thorough in following up after cleanings, getting my feedback, and explaining and offering suggestions.

What an amazing detail oriented job my worker did. My house sparkles! Matt was prompt, respectful, thoughtful and careful. I am so pleased and definitely recommend Matt from Dana’s Housekeeping!

I used Dana’s Housekeeping for over a year and I was mostly satisfied but I wanted to point out a few issues with their service. Keep in mind these are somewhat minor issues and I would still recommend them.
First, Dana will usually assign you a housekeeper who will be your regular cleaner. Ours was Michelle and she was very nice and pretty good. There were a few occasions where unusual things happened like a water leak in the bathroom and under the sink. On both occasions I asked her to just put a few towels in the area and leave it for me to clean up. Since they charge by the hour, I didn’t want other parts of the house to be neglected due to those issues or to be charged for the clean up. One of these times I even left work early to come home and clean up to find that our cleaner had taken care of it. While it is great that she wanted to leave the house in good condition, I would have preferred that my instructions were followed since I am paying the bill.
We also had a few occasions where our regular cleaner was sick or on vacation. I felt that Dana made no effort to proactively reschedule cleaning until I called her to request it. At one point, I had 2 kids, a nanny, and 2 grandparents staying with us. We were having the house cleaned every week and it really needed it. I really feel that if a cleaner needs to cancel at the last minute then Dana should make an attempt to have someone else come in and clean or schedule another cleaning day for as soon as possible.
Another issue we faced was when a substitute cleaner came in to clean while we were in Hawaii. I expected her to clean bathrooms, kitchen, etc. so that the house would be clean once we came back. I made sure she had my number and asked her to call with any questions, we were still in the U.S. after all. However, she came in, felt the house was pretty clean and decide to organize all of our drawers. Keep in mind that we were on a 10 day trip so a lot of our clothes were with us. She neatly folded the remaining clothes in the dressers and even folded the clean rags in the laundry room. However, she did not notice that the coffee pot had coffee in it — by the time we came back it was growing mold. She also did not notice that we had forgotten to empty a potty seat in the upstairs bathroom. When we came back, the entire 2^nd floor smelled of urine. So basically I was charged for someone to organize my house unnecessarily so that I could come back to a stinky, moldy house. I ended up leaving Dana’s Housekeeping after that.
All in all, these are not major issues and I would consider using them again if Dana would do a better job of scheduling make up cleanings and if her cleaners would follow instructions. They are definitely trustworthy and organized. They do charge by the hour so they might end up being more expensive then other services but if you are looking for someone to clean your house when you are not at home they will do great. Also if you have a smaller place (condo, apartment) then they will probably be very reasonable.

I used this service for the first time today and am VERY satisfied. Sonya came in and got right down to work! She was fun to have in the house and cleaned this place spic and span. I have very high cleanliness standards and she made sure to make sure everything was done to my expectations. The three best things about this service as a pose to others are THE PRICE, THE JOB DONE and they don’t use the same cleaning supplies from house to house. This means they are not tracking someone else’s dirt, fleas and what have you into my house because they are using MY supplies to clean MY house. This also means no smells left behind that I’m not okay with.
Sonya showed up ready to work. She was pleasant and kept on task. She worked the whole time with only a very small break to have a glass of water. I’m going to use her again and at her prices, I can afford to do it often! Thank you very much!

I’ve used Dana’s for a couple of years now and have had 3 housekeepers. (The first two moved out of area.) I’m very happy with the service they provide. I much prefer to have someone use MY cleaning supplies so I can keep them natural and organic (I’m very sensitive to smells.)
Interacting with the office staff is always easy and pleasant and they call regularly to check in.
A lot depends on the service provider and I’ve been fortunate in having contractors who do an excellent job.
The prices are very reasonable as well.

Let me start by explaining why I’m giving them 3 stars. They didn’t show up on the day they were suppose to and came on a different day. So that means when you take the day to be home to be there when they are «supposed» to be there, you are left pissed and with a dirty house!
The cleaning is okay, they aren’t any better than if I did it myself. I’m still looking for a better house cleaner!

After using Dana’s Housekeeping Service, I was impressed by my cleaner’s punctuality, professionalism and great cleaning ability. She did everything I asked of her. She did it better, faster and easier than I could have.
I do recommend this business and I will continue to have them clean my home.

I’ve been a very happy customer of Dana’s Housekeeping for the past 18 months. Dana’s has done a great job of screening their housekeepers and I have never had an issue with any of the 3 different housekeepers assigned to me.
This is easliy the best money I spend every month. I really enjoy coming home to a fresh and clean place after a long day at work. Granted I keep my place neat & tidy, but this allows me to do other things in my spare time, things I find must more enjoyable.
