Corner Comics

Went here to stock up on some back issues since I was in the Kirkland area. For a small store, they are optimally using each square foot there. The owners/​staff should be commended for their Tetris skills and if they do not play Tetris, they would be pretty good at it. I was busy digging through their back issues, but the staff and possibly the owner (woman?) were extremely nice. They warmly welcomed everyone walking through the door, always engaging any help wherever possible, and just all around super friendly. The only downside is the place is small. It’s too bad they didn’t have a slightly bigger place with tables and chairs, because I could totally see this as an awesome place to hangout and just talk about comic books all day. I was there for slightly over 2 hours and this place does get a lot of foot traffic. I found

If your looking for a small, independently-​owned, «mom & pop» comic shop — this place is for you! The woman that owns (?) and works here is very nice, patient, and loves to help those looking for a specific comic. Keep in mind that it’s small, so they might not have what your looking for. However, on the flip side, I was surprised they has as much as they do for their size.

Wow! A comic book store where I don’t get treated like an outcast or like I know nothing! I came for Free Comic Book Day and to spend a gift certificate that I won and was very impressed with the staff. The store is small and I would like to see even more of a selection of graphic novels, but I really couldn’t complain too much about the store at all (I didn’t see if there was a spot for local comic artists, but they had a great section of staff picks). The first issue of every single graphic novel I came looking for was gone, though, but I still enjoyed myself. If it wasn’t all the way out in Kirkland, I would make this my home comics store… but alas, too far out of the way for me.

Corner Comics is a great place to buy comics. The staff and owner are friendly and helpful. The selection of comics to include older books is great.

I love this place and my boys love it too. It can be a little busy but the owner is very nice and knows his comic books.

It’s always busy when I come here, which is a good thing for them. Sadly they have never engaged me the multiple times I’ve been in the shop, and are too busy chatting it up with everyone else to help me locate what I need.

What a great little store. The man working was friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and extremely helpful. Plus, he really knew his comics, old and new. I think my he and my husband could have been there all night reminiscing if I would have let them. Small shop, but there’s a lot packed in it worth looking at.

Staff is very knowledgeable and excited to talk about comics till the cows come home. They give people the option of having their comics delivered to the store directly so they can come in weekly and pick em up. It’s a great service for anyone who doesn’t trust the postal service to get things to you unscathed. They also have a good selection of more obscure comics like Chew, and Doc Savage (which I’m really excited to start reading again).
If you’re looking for TCGs this probably shouldn’t be your first stop, but that said they do usually have the most recent Magic the Gathering set available, and a few fat packs of older sets. Needless to say it’s not their main focus, and with a name like Corner Comics, of course it’s not.
I thoroughly recommend Corner Comics to both new and old comic lovers alike. The staff is great at figuring out the right comic for each customer that walks through the door. KUDOS to them.

My fiancé and I needed to get some boxes for his 4K+ comic book collection. We knew we were probably going to look and compare prices with what we saw on eBay, but also wanted to see if this was the place for our future comic and graphic novel needs.
I was worried the guy behind the counter would blow us off (like other stores in the area), but nope — very friendly and he knew his stuff without making you feel like you were the size of an action figure.
The store is very neat and the merchandise well-​presented.
I grew up buying a comic here and there and have loved graphic novels since college. My former coworker got me into Charles Burns a few years back; I was telling the young guy about the story line from Black Hole, but couldn’t remember the artist’s name and could he help me out. Of course, he knew right away but it wasn’t with an air of superiority. He talked shop with my fiancé and my fiancé wound-​up going back to get some comic boxes.
When work dies down, I plan on going back to pick up some graphic novels; how you’re treated goes a long way these days, especially with online shopping. I’d rather give CC my money though over other places in town.

I stopped in a couple months ago, and have been coming back nearly every week since. The shop is well-​lit, tidy, and everything is easy to find. It’s been years since I’ve collected, and their suggestions for other books I might like based on my past purchases have been spot on.
A lot of other shops I’ve stopped into have an eletist attitude, and are completely uninterested in helping me get back into collecting, but that is not the case here. It’s a little tough getting back into the swing of things, and I really appreciate how they’ve been willing to welcome me rather than treating me as some sort of poser who’s only collecting because I saw a couple X-​men movies. The folks who work behind the counter have made some spot-​on recommendations to help me get back on my feet. Also, they have been more than happy to hold issues that have sold-​out and call me when they come in.

I love this place. Me and my friend are regular costumers and we are allowed to just browse the owner gets we are poor college kids and that when we have the money we will buy something. Very nice and one of my favs. Sad that I moved to another area to find a new regular shop.

Okay, so this place has a fantastic selection and the staff is very well knowledged about certain writer’s, artists, and will recommend some fantastic comic books based on your preference. Paige exposed me to Girls by the Luna Brothers,
which was similar to a lot of Vertigo titles.
For local comic book writers, Paige even offers you space so you can sell your comics in her shop. Pretty cool and supportative of the indie comic book community.

She loved me, because I would come in and order a new graphic novel every Saturday, so eventually I had the complete collection of Preacher and Sandman. Plus, we both loved Sailor Moon.

I sort of feel bad for this place, since it’s out of the way in a crappy location and never seems to have ANY business. But the people are really friendly, and they always have a wider selection of back issues than East Side rivals Comic Stop or Dragon’s Lair.
I’m sad to say I don’t visit there as much as I should, since both the other locations I mentioned are closer and vastly more convenient for me. I mostly dart over to Corner Comics when I can’t get what I need at Comic Stop, because I KNOW CC’ll have it. Their selection is seriously the best on the East Side, check it out and see.

Long time customer so this review is biased. This place has a great selection of mainstream comics and vintage comics. The owner is well versed in comics and very helpful. Good place to shop.

Neat little store! Phillip, the lone staff man, was really helpful in finding some older trades I was looking for. Sucks that they’re moving but hey thats progress. Hope they can maintain a rockin little shop.

This place is small and smells of comics. They have a nice staff who are local folk who have lived in the area for quite a while. They have a good knowledge of comic books and have some good selections of back issues. This isn’t really a place to look for the most obscure things.
