This is such a fun place to bring the kids. They have great ideas for cute art projects and you get a great plate, mug or tile to bring home! My daughter loves the place. It’s hard to get her to leave. It’s so much better than a traditional pottery painting place because this one is geared toward kids. You don’t have to be a kid to go though, they do lots of adult groups too.

Art n’ Play closed in spring/summer 2007. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Family centric art entertainment studio with ceramic painting, imagination play area for kids, and great art classes. Art classes for kids let them express themselves creatively while teaching motor skills(e.g., how to hold pencil, brush, scissors; art techniques). They also have special events(like Ladies Night Out) and offer suggestions for maximizing return on items you want to create for school auctions. Parties are great… like old-fashioned style from when we were kids(70s), you and your guests sit around a big table and party! Each guest gets to paint a ceramic item — a nice party memento. The staff is super helpful in helping teach techniques and offer ideas, like painting Monet, Picasso, and other famous artwork on ceramic. Even if you don’t feel you’re that artistic, they can help bring out the artist in you. And they’re not pushy either. Art n’ Play relocated to Washington from California in mid-2006. In their 3 years in the Bay area, they were voted«one of the best places to celebrate a birthday» and were the«Best Arts and Crafts Center» family favorite winner in East Bay Parent magazine.
