Absolutely Fabulous

I recently brought in several gently used items for consignment. The lady who was helping took in 15 items (probably half of my initial load) and was very helpful. I called today to check on the status (you are only paid once your items sell) and Marlette, the woman working, was extremely short with me, unwilling to answer my questions. When I questioned the policy asking why some items had been pulled off the floor, she quickly began yelling and hung up on me. Shocked, I called back to ask to speak with the owner, and again, she yelled and told me not to call back. Yikes. I will not be referring any friends to consign or shop here, and I will promptly go pull my items from the floor.

I like shopping at Ab Fab ~ of all consignment stores I’ve perused, I like their selection the best (after The Closet in Boston).
The labels are good ~ you can tell they curate their stock. The prices are pretty good ~ not rock bottom but not out of reach. The staff are pleasant but they stay out of your way because there is a LOT in there and you need to concentrate!
The items are displayed in color groups, so you want to look for the size on the price tag (easy to find). The brand is also on the price tag, which I love! I have certain brands I prefer because I know how they fit me. Ab Fab makes it easy to sort through and find what I want in size and brand quickly.
There is also a nice sale rack in back with plenty to discover for the shopper who wants an even better deal! 25% and then 50% off ~ some great finds.
I always find something cool at a nice price!

I’ve occasionally both purchased and sold to Absolutely Fabulous for about 1−½ years. As a shopper, I find the quality and price of their items exceptional. The store is beautiful, clean and well laid out. And, as a Seller, they’ve always been fair with me. If you frequent consignment shops, most of them have a huge amount of counterfeits being sold as authentic. Other than Ragamoffyn’s next door which doesn’t tolerate any counterfeits, they have the least of the others. Like many reviewers, I don’t often experience warm greetings when I enter, but I don’t require that, either. Just because someone isn’t cheery and animated, doesn’t mean they’re rude and snotty. There’s a large spectrum of personalities and it seems 1 dimensional to state that if someone isn’t upbeat that they’re rude. And when parents with unruly children complain they’ve been treated badly, I assume there’s much more to the story they’re leaving out.

So far so good. I am very new consigning with them. They are extremely selective but have sold some things already so that is good.

I live close by so often find myself going in to browse and I have purchased about 6 items over a year or so. I really want to love this place but I have a couple of issues with it. Firstly the staff rarely even say hello when you enter, let alone offer any assistance and are often quite unhelpful and unfriendly in their manner when they are asked a question, I’ve experienced this both directly and witnessing the way they converse with other customers. Secondly the quality of the items is hit and miss, two items that I have purchased ended up having holes in them and the price tag did not reflect this, and one fell apart at the seems after an hour of wearing! Pricing can be a little off which sometimes means you get a great deal if you know your brands but more often means that you are likely to overpay for a used item, some of which are very dated in style. It’s true that they do have some great clothes consigned there so it’s worth visiting just to see what is in stock, but check the quality of the item very carefully (returns are not permitted) and always ask to see if they can take some money off (they will sometimes do this if they have had the item a while)

Yikes. All I did was call and ask what their policy was, and the lady who answered was short and obviously uninterested in talking to me. I will not be consigning my clothing here.

Yesterday was my first time going into consignment boutiques… and wow… what fun! I came into Absolutely Fabulous looking for a gown for a black tie affair event. The selection of formal wear wasn’t HUGE but the lady working found the PERFECT dress for me.
I got a hello right upon walking in, she helped find the dress, zipped me up, gave me her honest opinion of how it looked on me, AND found the perfect clutch to go with the outfit. I am absolutely tickled pink at my fancy new outfit. They only sell very high quality/​name brand things at very good prices. I left the store feeling like a princess and only spending around $ 85 for it all. They have cute shoes and jewelry as well.

Do NOT do business here. I took in a necklace to sell shortly before I moved across the country. I let them know I would be moving and asked if the check could be sent to me. I was told there was no problem. I called about a month after I moved and asked if my check could be sent. The woman on the phone was extremely rude. Long story short it has been FOUR months and still have not been paid. It is a small amount but it’s the principle. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Every time I shop here I find something fantastic. Great name brands, everything is in super condition and in-​season. I’ve been a consignment shopper for years, and this one is one of my favorites! The only thing to watch out for is the meter maids — they are notorious for handing out parking tickets (I swear it seems like they stick that ticket on the windshield even BEFORE your time expired).

We were in the store for over an hour before they said hello and acknowledged our presence. Two workers talked to each other the whole time. One was talking on the phone and it was a personal call! I found two items but decided not to buy them because of the poor customer service. I had been in before and spent $ 300.

Don’t do business with these people. I live in the neighborhood and cross by this place everyday. The owner of this store was about to run me over on purpose in the entrance of the parking lot, while I was trying to lock my car with the remote. She made rude gestures, I was so shocked and couldn’t reply, she then flipped me off and hit the gas pedal. I wish I had a witness so I could report her to the police.

I’m only giving this place 1 star but wish I could give none. Talk about rude and snobby. I walked in with 2 nordstrom bags full of clean nicely folded suiting my husband has bought in the last year from nordstrom but no longer fits. The lady at the counter looks at me and says we only take things that have been dry cleaned. I said these are all clean. She was incredibly rude about. She reluctantly starts looking through my bags and says the suits I’ve brought in are out of style. I said have you been to nordstrom lately? If so you will see these same suit is in the men’s department. After I said that she stops looking at my things shoves the bag back to me and says very rudely «we can’t take any of this» Why? Because you didn’t want to take anything to begin with because I’m dressed in workout clothes? I told her she was rude and I’d be letting others know not to shop in her store. I’ve actually heard from others the level of respect and customer service you won’t receive from this store. I decided to try it anyways since there aren’t many men’s consignment stores in Kirkland. I will tell everyone I know to keep their business away from this store. I work in Kirkland so this will be quite a few people. All customers (especially those bring business to your store) should be greeted with respect. Just because I’m not done up doesn’t mean I deserve a lesser level of service and respect. Rude. I’ll sell my things else where and will easily do it since they are in style. Ill give someone else my business. Stay way from this place. It doesn’t deserve to be in business and the people working there need some lessons in customer service.

I’ve wandered in here several times to browse and always thought «Wow, they’re snobby.» Today I bought something and the clerk ignored me for as long as she could, then rang me up with a healthy dose of attitude and sent me on my way. I’m sorry to have supported such a rude store and I won’t be back.
The next consignment store up, Ragamuffins (spelling?) is so much better. The people who work there are friendly and helpful and seem to genuinely want to be nice. Plus the stuff seems a lot nicer and the prices are more reasonable given that it’s consignment.

I confess I was not too excited about this shop when my daughter and I first went in: nobody glanced up from their paperwork to say hello or offer help if we needed. Similarly, when I asked a question about European sizing conversions, I felt a bit brushed off, but then something seemed to click and the clerk mentioned that the brand I was holding «runs large.»
That was good information because the sweater in question did run large enough to fit me, and the sales lady seemed to really engage after that. Finding out that my daughter likes Lululemon, she helped find Lulu pieces in the store that she hadn’t seen, for example.
The store itself is pretty and the merchandise is just gorgeous — top name brands in pristine condition. I had trouble figuring out a lot of the sizes, and the clothes are not arranged by size (but by color), which is confusing, but I have the same gripe about most consignment stores.
I walked out with an Escada sweater that doesn’t seem to have ever been worn and is beautiful beyond belief — I still can’t believe I own it. I’ll be back for sure.

I’m a consignment store shopper, not a seller. I love going into downtown Kirkland and exploring what treasure I might find that day. I don’t know why Kirkland is so lucky as to have three great consignment stores within two blocks of each other, but it makes for some very enjoyable shopping! I’ve found a few great things at Absolutely Fabulous. As with all consignment stores, sometimes you find something, sometimes you don’t!

BEWARE OF COUNTERFEIT ITEMS!
They sell counter fit goods. I was just in and purchased a ”coach” cross body bag and when I got home I realized it is not leather and NOT «Coach”.
Inside a zipper pocket there is a made in china tag and nothing else.
I should have been more diligent inspecting the bag but I would have never imagined they would sell knock offs!
Waste of money and I will not be returning.

This is my favorite consignment shop in the Kirkland area. After visiting a few of the others and having my jaw hit the floor when looking at prices, we came across Absolutely Fabulous. Much lower prices, much more fun clothing to check out, and nice staff. I’ll definitely be back to this one!

I have had a great experience in both buying and consigning jewelry pieces from my business at their location. I usually deal with the owner Tina who has always been very polite, helpful and straightforward. They made special circumstances work for me due to my travel abroad and that speaks for their customer service. Always professional and they have been consistently so all this time that it is surprising to see other people having negative experiences consigning.
Take a look at it and judge for yourself!
Btw, I do believe they have moved so please call to confirm the address. I have not been there in a while and when I called they mentioned that detail.

So, this review isn’t about shopping at Absolutely Fabulous, its about taking your clothes here to be sold. If you take your clothes here you have to call in every month to see if your clothes have sold, calling in and actually asking if your clothes have been sold is the ONLY way that you will get paid for your clothes. If you don’t call you never get paid. I guess they think this is the best system for them but to me it comes across as hoping that you forget to call so that they can keep your money. If I have clothes that sell at your store shouldn’t you just automatically send me a check because you owe me that money and not make me jump through hoops just to obtain what is rightfully mine? Wouldn’t this in fact be easier than having to keep track of who you sent a check to and who you haven’t sent a check to? Clothes sell, write them a check… its simple.
To be fair I did get paid (as long as you follow their over complected system). If it wasn’t for the additional weird customer service I would at least give them 2 stars.
The lady who helped me was weird and rude both when I dropped off my clothes and when I came back for the check. When I went to pick up my check there just seemed to be a slight reluctance about the whole thing — super strange! I brought along a couple of friends who verified the strangeness as well.
I just don’t like their process or their attitude and I won’t ever take my clothes here again that is for sure.

Almost hate to tell everybody about this but Absolutely Fabulous is absolutely my favorite consignment shop so far. You’ll go there, snag all the good stuff, and what will I be left with but good karma? Having been a customer for years, be nice and leave me some good stuff, ok?
The two sisters that run this shop are low-​key, friendly, and helpful. Whether you’re in the market for hats, sunglasses, scarves, coats, formals, casual, sports wear, jewelry, handbags, or shoes you’ll probably find something and it’ll be clean, steamed, and fairly priced. They have a good amount of new designer items and a sale rack where some awesome deals can be found. Keep in mind that they also have some designer-​inspired things so if you wanna make sure that Louis Vuitton handbag is authentic, it’ll pay to know your stuff.
The men’s section is smaller but it’s quality vs. quantity.
