I have been visiting this park since we moved to Kirkland and I liked it a lot because of the playground, the soccer/ball fields and the basketball court. We had lots of fun sliding in the little hills in the snowy days an enjoyed he spring afternoon picnics. I agree with the fact that the playground should have a soft floor and perhaps a larger area for younger kids with a sand box. The worst came to be that a couple of weeks ago I found out that it was going to be sprayed with Round Up in sidewalks, pathways, edges, fences and so forth. Well, being a fact that pesticides are even more harmful for kids than for other humans, I’m not quite sure if coming back is a good call, at least after the effect of the pesticide is really very faint. I can’t yet imagine the reason why one would do that to areas where kids run with very few clothes on this time if the year. Stars honoring the good times…

This park is AMAZING. It has a lot of flat open area for play(baseball and soccer fields!), some open old-growth trees too, a nice playground with slides, swings, a rock-climbing wall, and so much more. Tables, benches, and even a reflexology walking path. It seems very well maintained too. The parking lot is really large too, so if you need to drive to get there, parking shouldn’t be an issue. There are only a few things that could make this park better than it is:(1) IF, magically, the weather could always be amazing so we could go more often(obviously no fault of the park itself!); and(2) if it was that soft padding at the playground instead of wood chips, but that’s probably just a personal preference. A cute thing about the name of the park — it’s at 132nd St and 132nd Avenue, hence the 132 «square» name(i.e. 132nd squared!). I enjoy the mathematical sense of humor with this name… and it helps me remember the location on which streets this park sits too! I wish I had known about this park when we were enjoying some unusual non-rainy weather… but we will definitely take advantage now that we know it’s here!
