128 On State

Per the response from the building … I used their professional cleaning service and booked thru them (so they knew exactly what I used) and then still charged me additional cleaning fees. As you can see from the response, they are dishonest on every level. I stated clearly this was unfair upfront, they still billed me and now they claim had I just provided a receipt, it would be waived … well, they are the receipt as they did it!

Update:
Whoa — So, I don’t get back any of my deposit AND I’m charged hundreds more for cleanings. The unit is small, I cleaned it AND paid for carpet cleaning per instruction from one of the office staff — yet that is a charge.
The information on my previous review stands, but it appears you’ll have to cough up some cash when you move out.

I’ve lived in a lot of apartments over the years and hands down, this is by far the best managed of them all! Emily and Rose at the front office are friendly and always accommodating. I’ve had a few minor maintenance requests (change light bulbs, fix broken door handle) and they were all fixed promptly. The maintenance guys here are always cleaning up and working hard.
Just a few minor things that bug me here like the washing machine takes an hour to do a load, then another hour to dry, and I wish the door out to the deck had a screen, but other than that, I really like it here.

Emily and Rose were fabulous to work with. Both are so professional, yet so personable. I felt they really got to know me as a person, a neighbor, and always made me feel so at home here.
I had several special requirements upon moving in. Emily and Rose were so adept at finding ways to accommodate me, while staying within the property management guidelines. They find ways to make things work, where others would simply say «no».
The property is impeccable. The location is so convenient, downtown Kirkland is ½ block away. Metro Market, PCC, and QFC are all a short walk away. And the units are so handsome, and well appointed. Freshly painted, carpets shampooed, stainless appliances, top notch lighting. And my neighbors were so gracious. I had a corner, 2 bdrm, 2 ba unit and loved all the light, as well as privacy. It was so spacious too, my master bath was vast. Loved the pushbutton fireplace!
Unfortunately my project was cut short and I had to leave early. Emily and Rose were so helpful and accommodating and advised and guided me through the early lease termination process and made it work out beautifully. I’ve never had property managers try so hard to make things work in my favor.
I will stay here again, next time I’m stationed in the Seattle area.

Love this boutique apartment complex! The concierge service is fantastic and the apartment management team — Emily and Randy — really do a great job with making this place feel like a home. The complex has a well stocked business office (although most of the tenants are professionals and have their own printers, etc.) and gym. The building and grounds are kept in beautiful shape. My apartment is full of light and quiet — modern appliances, granite countertops, soaker tub. I had talked with tenants that had been here more than a year prior to selecting this location and the feedback was all positive. I am a dog lover and owner — it is a welcoming and joyful community.

Downtown Kirkland is an awesome place to live. And if you are looking for a great walkscore in Kirkland — 128 on State is the place to be. It has the perfect location to the waterfront Marina, restaurants of all price ranges and varied cuisines. It’s location is also a short walk to the grocery store, banking, salons and many varitites of recreation.
My husband and I knew the area we wanted to live (downtowm Kirkland) and rented at 128 on State while still residing in another state in the midwest. Emily, the property manager was so cordial, very helpful and kind and made the long distance transition so much easier. She was very informative and worked with us to select the best apartment based on what we wanted.
Since we rented without seeing the apt. we were so pleased when we arrived and stepped into our actual apartment. It was very clean and updated (they are fairly new) and have great appliances. I prefer gas versus electric for cooking and this place has it. :) It also has nice granite throughout, plenty of kitchen space and ample storage.
The complex also has a great workout room. And if you have a dog, they are very accomodating for pets. There are several «pet stations» around the complex that have an ample supply of «doggie doo bags» and the recptacles to put the waste in! :)
I have to also mention we feel very safe living here and as another reviewer mentioned everyone is very nice and friendly!
I gave a 5 STAR rating to 128 on State because of the following:
1) Management is everything! Knowing they care and will be there to assist you with your needs (and DO) speaks volumes. Thank you Emily and Kevin!
2) Location, Location, Location!
3) Apartments are clean, modern and have great appliances!
4) Pet friendly!!!
5) Great continued maintenance keeping the areas looking nice all the time!
6) Everyone is so friendly!
7) I have to mention the Location again! When you love where you live… and can walk out of your apt and enjoy all that there is that surrounds you… how can one not always have a uplifted spirit!

Read the previous comment and DO NOT RENT HERE!!! I have lived in NYC and LA and this by FAR was the worst living experience I have endured.
128 on State may «state» things you want to hear, but they are very cheaply made apartments with poorly run management called PROMETHEUS.
1)They will tell you they have
Center-doesn’t have functional web or printers… seriously.
2)The reason the previous matters is that the building is void of getting normal internet and cell service, so after buying a $ 200 booster I still spent the winter with the glass door open.
The reason the previous matters is that I had to keep the door open all the time, but there is MASSIVE construction happening everyday from 6:30AM to 7PM on the street. So good luck opening a window or hearing yourself think inside this «dream home».
I signed a year lease, but after realizing that the «hard wood floors» and «balcony view» were both lies… literally lies, the construction and then finally the inability to communicate via modern technology, the management had to let me move into a 6 month lease. At my 5 month marker, and dealing with this nightmare, (did I mention that 128 on State’s «dog friendly» policy means ppl with 2 huge dogs with muzzles ready to attack in the lobby while your trying to get the well advertised free cup of coffee), they «sent» me a letter that let me know that my rent would INCREASE $ 400 A MONTH to renew, and $ 800 A MONTH to go month to month… wow.
I travel 3 weeks a month for work, so my last bit of info for you is that my WPG etc bills that are all processed and billed through PROMETHEUS were over $ 300 a month… some months I was there 2 days. I was told they «average it out» between the building. That’s information that’s nice to know before you move in…
KEEP LOOKING… YOU DESERVE BETTER THAN 128 On State.

We lived in these apartments for one year. Overall they were great but we experienced some serious deal breakers that helped us decide to leave when our lease was up.
1) noise level, most windows open to either a busy street or a public walkway. Also, since the building is surrounded by other condo’s there is loud garbage pick up 3 mornings each week. Lots of truck noise and banging the dumpsters to empty them.
2) Hot apartments, the building is very ‘green’ and air tight, for us this meant not being able to catch a breeze and heat not being able to escape the building. We had several friends that experienced the same problem. It wasn’t uncommon for an apartment to be 80 degrees in the middle of winter with no heat ever turned on. If you like hot you’ll love this!
3) Ridiculous location of garbage and recycle containers. Benefit is staying in shape while going down 4 floors and walking for 5 minutes to recycle.
4) They advertise as 24 hour management. Over and over we experienced finding no staff for hours during the day. Long lunches or something.
5) when our lease was up we received notice that if we went month to month our rent would increase by $ 1200!!! When we asked the onsite manage if it was a typo he said it most likely was. But alas we did receive notice that we owed that prorated for the few days we went into the next month. Prometheus did change their mind after we complained but that seriously was what our month to month rate would have been if we had stayed.
6) They advertise full size washers but they are actually tiny, can only wash one sheet at a time. They are junk and maintenance knows it but coorperate won’t replace them until they all break.
Highlights — super clean building! Very pet friendly! Great walking in town with or with our pets. One of the best kitchens I’ve ever seen in an apartment, amazing gas range and great cupboard space. So if you have lots of money to spend on renting and like a very warm apartment (you’ll need your own portable AC unit running all summer!!) then you might love 128 on State.

I toured these apartments this weekend. They are super clean, and their leasing agent was very cordial… I will update you soon.
