Dairy Bar

Yay hooray! A great local ice cream shop with plenty of yummy treats and friendly staff.

I keep forgetting about this tiny jewel in Kinston. I’ve been to this place one other time and have had fond memories of each trip.
I have not had the pleasure of eating my way through their menu, since tonight was only my second trip. But I will say that each time I’ve gotten ice cream from here it’s been really good. My husband tried the «Heath Bar Blast» and said it was better than what Dairy Queen makes.
If you’re looking for a ceiling-​to-​floor list of frozen treats that drives you insane when trying to make a decision, keep driving; I’m sure you’ll find a Dairy Queen or something of the sort 30 minutes east on 70. This place is more of a mom-​n-​pop shop, which is a pleasant reminder to seasonal travelers that «The small town of Kinston is here!»
Some amenities: several patio tables with umbrellas, a couple of café tables and chairs inside, and the best part… a drive thru!
My only gripe is that it’s cash only.
I’m surprised to find that this place wasn’t «on the map» yet. Glad I could change that :-)
