MedSpring Urgent Care

Had to take my son this evening for fever and congestion. The receptionist that greeted us was super friendly. We didn’t have to wait long in the waiting room before we were put in an examination room. The examination room had a tv with its own remote so we were able to watch what my son wanted. They had snacks which my 7 year old thought was great. The X-​ray tech was so nice and let my son look at his X-​ray and even pointed out his lungs and heart. The doctor was very nice and explained everything. The nurse was very nice and everyone seemed to really care. I would recommend and will go back.

Staff appeared to be more interested in their personal conversations over taking care of patients. Dr. was not thorough with examination. Such a waste of time to be seen at this location.

I have been to this clinic several times for myself and my kids. It is usually a great experience. I’ve never had a problem until today. I called and scheduled an appointment this morning, I arrived 20 minutes early and I waited 1 hour past my appointment time. I was checked in and put in a room and never had a nurse or doctor come in the room for almost 1 ½ hours. I left without being seen. The staff was unfriendly and rude especially Justine. What is the point of making an appointment? This was a waste of my time.

I have been here several times and although the. staff has changed they are always very professional. I like the privacy of waiting in a private waiting room, the coffee bar, the snacks and last but not least the cleaning Ness of this location. They are. open from 9 – 9. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a. minor emergency. They have radiology availability and minor care. The doctors have all been very kind, patient and caring.

If I could give no stars I definitely would. This place is terrible and will never return. The receptionist was extremely rude the moment I asked for clarification of why my copay was so much; having been to urgent cares I know exactly how much I should be charged but she was condescending and talked down to me.
Next, the doctor on duty absolutely did NOT care about my discomfort and the reason I went in for my visit. He basically told me there was nothing he could do for me, yet upon visiting my primary care physician I was given excellent medication for my problem. So I was overcharged, spoken down on, and walked out exactly the same way I walked in. TERRIBLE PLACE. Do not come here if you want to receive good care and service.

Like others, I would give no stars if I could. I arrived about 45 minutes prior to closing and as I walked in, the receptionist looked at the clock and sighed. It appeared to pain her to have to engage with me, and she tried to discourage me from registering by telling me it could be more than an hour before I would be seen. Obviously, I was there for an urgent reason, so I registered anyway and it clearly dismayed her. It took every bit of the hour she said and the physician that came in was equally unfriendly. I got the bare necessity of medical attention to get me out so they could leave. They clearly expect to walk out the door for the night at the same time that the clinic closes. The only plus I’d give is that the facility is neat, clean and modern. I will not return to a MedSpring facility for any purpose and would strongly suggest that anyone considering them keep looking. They are rude and do not care about the patients they serve.

If you need immediate attention don’t come here! We waited almost 2 hours to see a dr. With an almost empty waiting room. I’m coming back here again. No stars.

I went yesterday because I had a fever. I let them know I had a headache consistently for a couple weeks, which was probably the result of some medicine I’m currently talking that’s known to cause headaches. I also said that my kids had been sick with a stomach virus and ear infection. The doctor walked in and immediately told me to go to the ER. He suggested I get a head scan, blood work, spinal tap, etc… Probably thousands of dollars of tests. He wasted my time. I went to a PA today who said she’d start with bloodwork but wouldn’t rush into expensive testing since I had no other symptoms of meningitis and all the other scary stuff the doctor at medspring said I might have. He was either trying to pass the buck or extremely paranoid. I was so unimpressed that he jumped to conclusions without even doing an exam. Also, the nurse was very short and rude.

If I could give them no stars I would! This place makes the VA system look like the Mayo Clinic. They are both rude and incompetent.
My son had a work accident and his employer referred him to this facility. He was treated after a 45+ minute wait (I guess «urgent» care is a relevant term). He was told to return in 72 hours and that someone would call to schedule an appointment. One day later he received a call and set the appointment for 1:00PM Friday. Since the accident injured his foot I drove him to his appointment. We arrived at 12:55PM and we’re told he didn’t have an appointment and that he could wait but it would be at least two hours. Besides the incompetence of scheduling an appointment that didn’t exist, the person telling us this implied it was our fault because we couldn’t tell her the name of the person who called and set the appointment. That’s when I explained that this was unacceptable. She jumped up and went to «the back» from which she emerged with a doctor in tow. The «doctor» treated us like people who have no right to expect any level of service or care they chose not to provide. In general I get irritated with anyone who thinks more highly of themselves and they should, but for a «doc in the box» contract physician to treat us in this way is just intolerable. All I can say is she better treat her mother special, because with an attitude like her’s that’s the only love she’s ever going to get.
If you need any type of medical care, urgent or otherwise, stop by a veterinary clinic before you choose this place! It’s a disgrace.

Our entire family came down with a bad cold — starts with stomach flu and then modifies into head congestion, cough, fever, etc. Son and husband seemed to be improving; I was not. I wound up with severe sinusitis — I felt like a «drunk sailor» — I couldn’t drive, I wobbled, and the pressure on the ears was intense. My first visit to the clinic was OK. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and a nasal steroid. They were rushed/​busy but thorough. Instructions were to contact them if I didn’t experience improvement in about 4 days.
I began feeling a little improvement in about 5 days. Hoping for the best, I finished the antibiotic course of 10 days. After that, I was maybe 30% better. So, I went back. The doctor was horrible. She spoke in a very condescending manner and as if she was stuck «on a script». She didn’t appear interested in listening or trying to assess what I was experiencing at all. It became clear quickly that this was to be a one sided conversation with her making pronouncements about my health without much input from me. Under these circumstances, there is no way the information or treatment plan she would advise would be helpful or accurate.
After I sat there in the room for a few minutes, dumbstruck by what I had just experienced, I realized that for the first time in my life, I needed to walk out of a doctor’s office. So I paid my bill and left.
That was 5 days ago. My daughter is still sick, too. We may need to take her to the doctor. But I guarantee, it won’t be at MedSpring Urgent Care!

Injured my back over the weekend and was unable to contact my Primary Physician so decided to go to Medspring. I was hurting pretty bad (even after taking my pain meds). Was worried I herniated another disc, and due to the nature of my job, I thought it would be a good idea to get a Doctors opinion on it before going in on Monday. After I told the receptionist what was going on she brought me in the back. A few minutes later, the Doctor came in she said, «I’m gonna be straight up with you. I’m not prescribing you any narcotics. If you got a problem with that then you need to leave.»
At this point, No chart had been started, no assessment was done, no history was taken, no questions were asked. They didn’t even take my blood pressure…
To keep it short, I was treated like a drug-​seeker and it was embarrassing. You know the healthcare system is screwed up when you don’t even want to go to the Dr anymore when your in pain. I wasn’t even there for meds. I have meds. I just wanted a doctor to check out my back.

My 15 ½ yr. old was seen ½/​2014 for a upper respiratory infection, was given steroids & antibiotic, but no cough med! I figured with his inhale machine & over the counter med, he would be fine. Two days later, cough was worse, so I called at 11:32 am was on hold for over 10 min. Finally left message. Two hours later, no return call. Called again & finally spoke with someone about cough medication. Called again @ 3:32 pm to check on progress. Finally at 6:00 pm dr. Returned call. Would NOT CALL in medication because he did not see him & does not call in the only cough med that has worked in the past for my son! He told me I could bring him back in to be seen by him & he would decide then… ya if I want to pay another $ 55.00!!! I will never go there again & will tell everyone I know!!! Now I have to spend more$$$$ at another minor er so he can get cough med & get better!!! Marcia M

Arrived just before they closed, front receptionist was very nice and helpful. Got us checked in within a few minutes.
Met with a Doctor a few minutes later (Tiffany Murphy?), very thorough and was very understanding. I had a sinus infection, they gave me a shot and some meds with no problems. Was very interested in listening to the patient. Everyone was very professional and efficient. Will go back if I have any future problems, appreciate their courtesy and efficiency!

I was seen at the Medspring, Kingwood last night. I have an outbreak of shingles, and am in horrific pain. I could not get to my primary care doc yesterday because I was at home with small children, so had to go to an urgent care. My experience there was magnificent, and so when I filled out their on-​site review, I gave it 5 stars. Interestingly, it is not possible to review the facility on their website. The physician and staff were efficient, personable, and seemingly knowledgable. However, when my husband arrived at the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions, the pharmacist warned him that the pain relief prescribed had a potentially dangerous interaction with another med I’m taking. I’m only taking two meds. I wrote them down, and then confirmed them verbally, first with the nurse, and then with the Dr. The pharmacy gave 2 pills to get me through the night, but advised I shouldn’t take the medication longer than that and said they would call the Dr. I had not received a call as of 2:00 today, so called the pharmacy, who said they had heard nothing, and then the Medspring, who advised that they had called in an alternate medication. That medication was one that the physician specifically told me would take several weeks to take effect on the pain. When I explained this to the person on the phone, she went to ask the current Dr., who told her that if I needed something else, I should go see my primary care physician. If I could have gotten in to see my PCP, or could have waited until I could get in to see her, I would not have spent my time and money going to Medspring!!! My compliments: 1. Lovely, spa-​like visit. My complaints: 1. Prescribed me a potentially fatal med. 2. Did absolutely nothing to alleviate my current problem. I don’t think I will be back.
