Studio 286 is a perfectly located apartment on the corner of John and Fair Streets in the heart of Uptown Kingston and accommodates up to 6 people. Three bedrooms, a large sitting room and fully equipped gourmet kitchen — a 1650 square foot oasis in the middle of Uptown Kingston’s exciting Stockade District with all the amazing restaurants, cafes, taverns and boutique stores literally on your doorstep. The apartment is freshly renovated and decorated — a mixture of old world charm and the latest European design. It has all the mod cons, with brand new appliances, clean and comfortable bedrooms, each perfect for a couple or single person and 55 inch flat screen tv with free movies via Netflix in the expansive living room. No car required– Kingston is served by regular Trailways bus service direct from Port Authority in NYC and then it is a short stroll from the Trailways terminal to Studio 286 where you can pretty much walk to everything.

History

Established in 2014.

Studio 286 owners have years of experience as hosts. They successfully operate two upscale vacation rental units in Phoenicia, NY. They enjoy designing spaces which are comfortable, contemporary and fun. The family recently moved to Kingston and saw a need for short term and medium term accommodation for filmmakers, creative technical industries professionals, business people and travelers in general. Studio 286 welcomed its first guests Memorial weekend.

Business Owner

I am originally from New Zealand and my wife Rebecca is from Scotland. We have been living in the States for the past 14 years. I’m an opera singer and have sung at opera houses and concert halls around the world. I love music, nature, being with my family, and writing.

I’m a festival organizer and opera producer– a sort of self styled «operapreneur». I started the The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice a few years back and I now run the Kingston Festival of the Arts and Opera Theater of Kingston in my newly adopted favorite city– Kingston, NY.

We have two young kids– Edrick and Rosa. Edrick is 5 and a wild nature boy Rosa is 11 and is an amazing pop singer, fashionista and artiste. We moved from the heart of the countryside in Phoenicia to the «big city» of Kingston just a few months ago and loving it!

We have lived in many places around the world, but think Kingston is one of the most beautiful small cities– a true gem!
