Excellent choice for a fun dinner for out-of-towners. Highly recommend if you’re sick of the same old fast food or chain restaurants. Definitely BYOB — bring some beer for the spicy food. A heads-up, the alligator filet is served on a bed of white rice so getting a non-carb side is suggested if you dont’ want to be too full. Four stars as I would’ve liked a few more veggie side options for that reason. If I would’ve had room I would’ve gotten dessert! Loved the chef and it’s super cute and fun on the inside for an affordable little unexpected stop in Kingsport. Highly recommend.

We went based on a menu we picked up at our nearby hotel and were both pleasantly surprised and delighted. The menu promised that food was prepared to order, so we didn’t mind waiting a bit. Service was good, however. The fried alligator appetizer was delicious, tender and served with a mustard based remoulade that had a definite kick. The Man ordered red beans and rice with andouille which was spicy and delicious, and I had a *small* crawfish étouffée which was more than enough… if I’d ordered large, we never would have been able to manage dessert, which was advertised as fried cookie dough. In reality it’s more like chocolate chip beignets, if you can imagine such a delicious treat… they come out on a plate looking like fat little goldfish dusted with powdered sugar, and your first bite is like air and dooughnut and melted chocolate all in one, total decadence. I highly recommend them! They are worth the trip all by themselves.

Not impressed. The hubs and I went for lunch… On a weekday. There was 1 other table occupied when we got there, and it still took a while. There’s nothing served to nibble on while you wait for you food… And you will be waiting. My husband got the sampler & the gumbo was cold. I’ve visited New Orleans several times and this is not true Cajun cuisine. I ordered the blackened chicken with rice. Overpriced for what you get, we left hungry.

My friends and I had a great dinner at this place. The food was authentic(at least to us) and the blackened alligator was very tender and fresh. We definitely recommend this place for passerby.

We came in with a good sized group and tried a little of everything. It was all good! Try the alligator blackened instead of fried and you’ll get a better experience.

Nice small restaurant. I had the jambalaya, if you are a fan of big portions, you may be a bit disappointed. My dining partner had the blackened catfish, it was spicy but not over done, just right. The food was slow in coming out, yes good food does take time, just make sure you are patient, and not in any sort of rush. I recommend it!

Great service! Great food! Most underrated restaurant in Kingsport. Cajun cooking at its best. If you haven’t tried it you need to. The alligator was perfect and the jambalaya was spot on! Try it!
