I have to completely disagree with the other reviews. I have eaten here several times and it is the kind of place that takes me back to a simpler time. Yes the food is basic, homemade style family food. I really applaud people that retire and take on a passion to serve people and I am sure not all meals are perfect but they are super friendly. even asked me to join them at a table for lunch since I was sitting alone. The police frequent here and they have a good breakfast and really great dinner selections that rotate throughout the week so call ahead and find out the specials. Ones I have experienced are ground chuck, chicken fried steak and spaghetti as well as many others. For lunch I have had the BLT that is served with fresh made potato chips and their burger which is fresh ground which is more then you can say for most restaurants. I actually like the rustic feel. it is a pretty cool building they are located in. very easy to drive right by if you are not looking for it. Yes this place is not the kind you will enjoy if you are used to or expecting more of a chain dining experience but for me this is about the people and I truly enjoy that community feel and they do take care of you. I love to support places like this. since their main clientele is older I doubt many would know how to write a review but I know they would give Mooney’s high marks.

This is a dive. Not a good one. Service was slow. I paid $ 10.45 for 2 eggs hash browns grits burnt bacon coffee an small OJ. Sit N Bull in Gray is much better.

Takes forever to get food and when you get it the food is cold. Wouldn’t go there again was expense and not worth it at all.
