History

Established in 1930.

The bar was originally called Teigue’s Tavern.

‘A neat thing is it used to be my great

grandma’s house where my grandfather and his brothers were born (Joseph, Gene, and Thomas). My Great grandmother Delia or «mom» as the whole town knew/knows her was widowed with 3 young kids so to make ends meat she made bathtub gin during prohibition. when Prohibition ended she could «officially» open the bar. Just wanted to share that quick story of the history of the bar with you. Its a good one and I kinda like to think or hope that its story will stay with it over the years. Its sad to think that someday the legacy of my great grand mothers, the legacy of the tavern, might be lost. Hopefully this little bit of information will help you paint a picture of the bar more complete. Its funny but its like that old saying «if these walls could talk» those walls have seen a great many things in its time. And I’m so glad its still serving the people of King’s Park.” ~Kimberly Teigue
