I always thought it was so cliché when people said to me «Get LASIK done… it will change your life! And it’s so easy!» Well, they were 100% correct. I was honestly completely terrified to get LASIK which is why I kept convincing myself that I don’t mind putting contacts in every day and dealing with glasses. But when you crunch the numbers, paying for contacts and glasses is astronomical! LASIK, in the long run, is far less expensive PLUS you have the luxury of opening your eyes in the morning, seeing beautifully and NOT having to deal with contacts and glasses.
Dr. Aronsky and the whole staff at Kremer were absolutely wonderful. They treated me as if I was their only patient and they truly cared. Honestly, there was zero pain what-​so-​ever. I went home from my surgery, slept for 6 hours and then was up and out the door hanging out with friends later that evening. You just have to keep up with the eye drops and follow up appointments which is super easy.
I recommend Kremer Eye Center for LASIK to everyone who mentions they are considering LASIK. It has truly changed my life.

Before I went to Kremer and got LASIK, I couldn’t even see the big E on the eye chart. I had to put the shampoo on one shelf and the conditioner on another. I’d wake up unsure of who was sleeping beside me. And what if there was a zombie apocalypse? I would have been totally screwed. But then I decided that for the cost of ten pairs of glasses, I could just fix the whole situation and get the added bonus of being able to strain pasta in peace.
But that’s just general LASIK talk. Why was Kremer so awesome? So many reasons. I had my appointments in the convenient center city location. While the office could use some sprucing up, the equipment was great and the employees were excellent across the board. In the KOP location (where they perform the actual surgery), I received the same superb care from every employee, and the facilities were much more appealing aesthetically. The surgery itself was fairly easy, even for someone with my terrible vision. My surgeon was Dr. Aronofsky and he was actually really cool and approachable, answering all my questions patiently. He gave me a realistic expectation of what was in store and was very reassuring.
Sunglasses you guys. I lost a pair the other day and it was no big deal. I just got a new pair for like $ 20. Not $ 400.

Friendly staff. Very short wait times. Experienced surgeons. Dr. George Pronesti did my LASIK. He is very knowledgeable, have attention to details, and professional. He’s friendly and easy to talk to at the same time. I felt very safe that he’s operating on me. My experience at Kremer Eye Center was a very positive one. The whole process including the surgery was quick and easy. I highly recommend a visit to Kremer Eye Center.

Got Visian Eye surgery done here with Dr. Aronsky as my surgeon and Dr. Huynh as my Optometrist. Both are extremely kind and professional and truly care about patient care and safety as opposed to feeling like I was just business ticket to be used and sent off at some other cut rate Lasik centers I had tried out. They are extremely flexible with scheduling and offer a very honest opinion on how best to approach correcting your visian. If I had more eyes to correct, I’d come back.
A nice bonus is that all future corrections if needed are included with your surgery fee!

Not that another great review is needed here… as everyone else says– DO IT NOW! No regrets! Kremer was great, from start to finish. I’m a little over two weeks after surgery now and I have perfect vision without any side effects.
I was very comfortable with all of the staff who did my testing and qualifications. Dr. Aronsky was great from day one– making sure that i felt comfortable and that all of my questions were answered. I didn’t really get nervous for the procedure until they were sliding me under the machine, and even then the nursing staff was so sweet and kind that I felt extremely comfortable. My family can’t believe the procedure was 100% painless, but it’s true… it was!
After seeing my results my husband will most likely be going in soon, and I’ll recommend to the rest of my family and friends!

Excellent! I felt very comfortable during the entire process, everyone was very professional and extremely competent. The procedure itself was easy and most importantly, my vision is awesome. If you are considering LASIK, this is the only place to think about.

I went to one of the Kremer info sessions in May. I had talked about LASIK forever, but was stuck in the perpetual cycle of ordering contacts and glasses with every 2yr visit. I finally had enough and 2014 was going to be my year to do it.
The info session in KOP had about 20 people and Dr Pronesti (who did my surgery) and another doc answered everyone’s questions and casually conversed with us about their experience, side effects, the technical details, concerns, etc. It wasn’t sales pitchy, but do I think they brought their A game to an intimate Q&A setting? Of course. They have a vested interest in the profitability of the center. I had a consult the following week, where they took all sorts of measurements and confirm whether you’re still a candidate or if it’s abandon ship. Thankfully, there were no hidden red flags and onward it went. They said about 30% of people are rejected as LASIK candidates after the evaluations.
2 weeks of four-​eyes and no eye makeup and I was ready to go. I had my pre-​surgery eval on a Thurs (where the doc did seem very straightforward, blunt, to the point, and lacking all the nice bedside manner he showed at the seminar), but surgery day Friday was the next morning and everything went exactly as planned. They are crazy punctual and I was in and out in less than 2hrs. I followed their instructions to a T and at my 1 month follow-​up I was seeing 20/​20, and my eyes were about –6.00.
The only thing that hurt was the $ 4300 withdraw from my bank account, but it’s quite liberating not to depend on sticking a plastic disc in your eyes everyday. No dryness, no side effects. Best decision I’ve made in a long time!

You guys. The LASIK. Just do it. I can’t tell you how happy I am with my new sight and it’s only been 4 days. This office is very easy to get to, the staff is excellent and friendly, and the directions they give you for post-​op care are simple to follow. I had the procedure done on Friday morning and was out on Saturday night for a friend’s birthday celebration (sans eye makeup, but still worth it). Their payment plan is awesome and pretty affordable. It’s roughly $ 4300 for both eyes with 0% financing for 24 months — which means that my monthly payments will be around $ 180 for 2 years and I won’t have to worry about any interest. My eyes are healing just fine and I am thrilled to be done with contact lenses, which were a pretty penny every year anyway. I can’t gush about this place enough.

I got Visian eye surgery (they implant a permanent contact lens inside your eye) about 10 days ago and had amazing results!
But, let’s start at the beginning. I came in for the consultation, and they did a great job answering all my questions about Visian — I had –12 in one eye and –11.5 in the other eye so legally blind (could not see the big E on the eye chart). Visian was my only option and they assured me that it was safe (the doctor that did the consult had actually gotten it done herself and said it was amazing).
I had to go in for an LPI procedure before the big procedure, which they did a great job of making sure i was comfortable and make it go as smoothly as possible, giving me Advil and an anti-​nausea medication just in case the procedure bothered me. I went home feeling just fine (well, my eyes were still dilated, but I had my husband drive me home and I just kept my eyes shut to block out the sun — it was around noon).
The day of the procedure, they did a great job doing the pre-​operative prep and the doctor (Aronsky) came out to make sure that I was doing OK (above and beyond if you ask me) in between his other procedures. They did one eye in one surgery room and the other eye in the other room — very smart to reduce the chance of mistake, and they said it was to reduce the risk of contamination. It was about 15 minutes for each eye. At the end of each procedure, I could see! It was amazing! They kept me for an hour just to make sure that the pressure in my eye was OK and then discharged me to go back home (after my ride got there).
I don’t know how they do it, but the staff there are also really nice — the receptionists are always happy and speaking to each other in an upbeat way as well as making friendly banter with each other and the clients. Just puts everyone in a happier mood (especially since the eye doctor is generally not everyone’s favorite place to be). :-)
Now, 10 days later, I“m just doing the prescribed eye drops, but my eyes have never felt better — the hardest part about the whole thing was not getting to wash my face for 2 days and not wearing makeup or exercising for a week after the procedure. Honestly, it was the best thing I’ve ever done — thank you, Kremmer, for such an amazing experience!

I had LASIK surgery by Dr. Kremer in 1999. I was 29 years old at the time. I am now (almost) 43. When I had the eye surgery my vision was very bad. I could not see the «Big E» on the chart. I was counting fingers. I was approximately ²⁰⁄₈₀₀ in one eye and ²⁰⁄₁₀₀₀ in the other eye. I started wearing glasses in 2^nd grade, gas permeable contact lenses in 8^th grade. My first follow-​up appointment I was seeing ²⁰⁄₇₀. At my last follow up I was ²⁰⁄₂₅ in one eye and ²⁰⁄₄₀ in the other. I was very satisfied. Fast forward to when I was 41. I started noticing blurring. I assumed that I was headed toward needing bifocals. I went to the eye doctor. She said my vision was fine. I just had an astigmatism. She also noticed that in one eye she couldn’t see any scarring (which she said was highly unusual) and in the other eye she could only see it because I told her I had had the procedure done. Kudos to Dr. Kremer. I now wear glasses to correct a slight astigmatism. I don’t have to wear them to drive but I do choose them. When I’ve talked to other people about the surgery they had around the same time I did, most of them were wearing glasses again within a few years of having the surgery. Honestly, I would have been happy even if I had had to wear glasses right after the surgery. Going from 20÷800−1000 to simply needing a smaller, lighter pair of glasses would have been wonderful. It has been 14 years since my surgery and I’m sitting at my laptop without glasses and able to clearly see what I’m doing.

I had the custom wavefront Lasik, which I knew people who had it done with out any problems. Unfortunately, the best can make mistakes. Trust your eyes to you. First, I had the laser that was suppose to be more accurate and follow your eye if you move, etc. Well, in one eye it missed, and I did buy the package that would cover touch ups, but that is not the problem. After my Lasik, I knew I couldn’t see out of one eye as clear as the other. So I still wear glasses. Wait –it gets better.
Several of the doctors which saw me after the surgery told me the vision would get better, give it time, but it never did. Also, be for-​warned that Kremer DOES NOT guarantee anything. When something is not guaranteed to work on the first try– be prepared. The second problem I had were several black spots in both eyes. I had never had them before so I asked Dr. George (first name) what they were and he said they would go away. They never did, I later found out that they are called floaters which only hide in certain dark backgrounds of vision. So when looking at a dark background they blend in to what you are looking at which makes the spots appear as if they leave. Soon after, I went to another doctor not affiliated with Kremer or TLC which is the same co., and he confirmed that they will never go away. So George at Kremer lied to me. Another interesting tidbit of info. that I was shocked to hear from the competition, was the suction ring that is used in the surgery changes the eye pressure for some people which causes floaters. However, important this information was –great !– but doctors never sue each other so I had to keep it to myself. It was vindicating, when the other doctor said this to me, it made me feel better because Kremer tried to minimize it that their was something else wrong with me or it was all in my head. This was a lot to deal with but you may be wondering why I never had them touch up the one eye to see better. The reason is because when I went back to them about the spots in front of my eyes for like the 5^th time, Kremer could NOT guarantee I wouldn’t get more spots. In addition, the more times you are shot with the laser you are more likely to develop scar tissue under the flap, so that was enough for me. I had enough of Kremer, I asked for my money back but I would have had to sign my life away, so I was out the $ and still wear glasses. One small piece, thank God the glare around lights got better, oh yeah, that they did tell me would go away. However, it is a small victory because I am constantly reminded of this horrible experience when the floaters move around. The fact that I was lied to is more unethical and down right wrong, so again I stress for some people it works fine without any problems but I was part of the percent that
went the other way.

Yesterday morning I was relatively late for my follow-​up appointment, as I always am. Regardless, I was greeted by the very nice people at the front desk. With hardly any wait at all (despite completely missing my scheduled appointment time of 9am), I met with a very nice doctor whom I’d never met before who was very helpful, answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Within 15−20min I was back at the front desk scheduling my 1-​year follow-​up visit. Eyes still dry up here and there but largely improved. I use preservative free eye drops once or twice a day if at all. Vision: still ²⁰⁄₂₀
Three months ago, I arrived for my follow-​up appointment with some pretty bad dry eyes. I was told something I knew, I had to use more eye drops. Street lamps still looked like starbursts now and then when driving at night. Vision: ²⁰⁄₂₀
Weeks prior: broken blood vessels were looking a lot better exactly when my doctors would tell me they’d start clearing up, eyes were dry, and I no longer had to take antibiotic and steroid drops. Driving at night was possible, but kind of annoying due to haziness and street lights looking like starbursts/​flares. Vision: ²⁰⁄₂₀
A dozen days before that: it was the morning after my surgery. I wasn’t sure if I could drive, so I brought my girlfriend with me. I was able to drive comfortably there and home without too much difficulty, fearless despite the snow that remained on the ground. I was given the OK that everything looked well from the day prior. I was reminded of the frequency at which I’d be taking my antibiotic and steroid drops. I had already slept with my goggles (to prevent accidental bumping) the night before and I’d have to do so for the remainder of the week. All in all, lots of instructions but nothing terribly difficult to maintain. Despite the ugliness of broken blood vessels in both eyes (the right worse than the left), I was thrilled and in disbelief that my vision was declared to be ²⁰⁄₂₀. Though, I was a little jealous to learn when chatting with someone else in the waiting room was seeing at ²⁰⁄₁₅. She too had the surgery the day before and was very happy.
The morning prior: I think the reality of having my eyes cut open and being shot with lasers finally sank in. I was a little nervous as I sat wearing a hair net, a hospital gown (clothes on underneath) and booties over my shoes. I was given some sort of generic xanax which improved the situation. As I laid back under the first machine which created my «eye flaps» I was pretty scared but it lasted less than 10 minutes. The incisions couldn’t be felt. But, I surely felt the cup-​like device placed over my eye to guide the laser. It felt like pushing down on your closed eye with the palm of your hand. Although my eyes were open when they were being cut open, I couldn’t see out of either of them. My vision was cloudy with my eyes opened, I was walked over to the other machine which would correct my vision. Once again, I laid back, face up and and was able to see the laser. It was orange and looked like a flare.
Two months before that: I moving from machine to machine, each one performing a different task from measuring the pressure in my eye to their ability to moisturize. After some more examination, like the typical eye chart and closing of left/​right eyes, I was declared a candidate for LASIK. I opted for the pricing package that included the most follow-​up visits and option to go anywhere in their network to receive repeat treatments at any point in my life, if my eye sight ever started to falter again. I made this decision in a room, with someone in scrubs but didn’t seem to be a nurse at all. From a past life as a car salesman, it felt the same, a bit more pushy than helpful but I held my ground. I scheduled my operation that same evening for the beginning of the following year, the first week in January when my FSA (Flex Spending Account) would be in. I went with the doctor my benefits representative at work had recommended and known for over 12 years.
It’s been six months to the day now. Was it one of the most uncomfortable procedures of my life? Yes. Was it pretty expensive? Yeah, which is why I opted to put it on my FSA so it’d be pre-​tax and taken out of my paychecks. Was I scared? In the 11^th hour, yes. My symptoms and recovery aren’t typical. Most people sound like they’ve had an easier time. Some people indicate a much worse time. All in all, I don’t regret it. It’s refreshing to be able to see when I don’t expect to: immediately when waking up and opening my eyes in the morning, in the shower, while swimming/​in water. It’s refreshing to be able to use my eyes more effectively, such as when being able to look through the optical viewfinder on my camera.
I wore glasses since around the age of 7 or 8. Had a short stint with contacts in high school but gave up after irritation and convenience problems. LASIK was always on my agenda and I’m glad I finally got it.

I received lasik eye surgery a few months ago from Kremer, and I feel compelled to write a review because they were so good. Everything was completely professional.
All of the staff and doctors treated me with care and respect. In terms of the surgery, everything went smoothly, and I sit here with perfect ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision.
The surgery itself isn’t fun, but it is certainly worth it. Kremer made the procedure as easily and painless as possible. They really take care of you, and don’t force you into any options or price points you don’t need.
That being said, I recommend going with their top package, because when it comes to your eyes, who wants to cut corners? Kremer isn’t the cheapest option, but after going to several doctors for consultations, I strongly felt that they would be the best for my Lasik, and I wasn’t disappointed. They even called the day after surgery just to check on how I was healing! That was a nice touch from a place I already was confident in.
Surgery has to be done out in KOP, but they have a satellite office in Center City that can do most of the other appointments, which is really convenient for me.

I had laser eye surgery here in 2005, when I was 23 years old. I’d had poor vision my whole life, and like most people who need glasses, was quite myopic — ⁴⁰⁰⁄₂₀. That means what most people can discern at 400 feet, I need to get 20 feet away to see. It’s pretty blind.
I’d had a consultation at Kremer when I was younger, about 19, and they advised me to wait, since young girl have large pupils, which can dilate beyond the perimeter of the surgery and lead to haloes around lights and difficulty driving at night.
Now that I was older, my doctor determined that I was a good candidate and went through the process with me. I had to take my contacts out for two weeks before the surgery to allow my eye to return to its natural shape, and arrange for someone to drop me off and pick me up after my surgery, since you need to keep your eyes shut to speed the healing of your cornea.
Day of surgery, I was given a gown and shoe covers, my hair was tied back, and I was given a mild sedative (like a Valium) to help keep anxiety at bay.
There are two types of laser surgery — one where they use a scalpel to cut your cornea, and one where they use the laser to cut your cornea. It’s a small difference that comes down to price, since either way it is completely painless from the anesthetic drops they place in your eye.
I was reclined in a dentist’s office type chair, and my eyes were propped open a la A Clockwork Orange. Drops were applied. My doctor leaned in and began, cutting my right cornea and flipping it back to get access to the lens, which the laser then reshaped. Same procedure on the left eye. About six minutes later, I was done. They raised the chair up and asked me to look at the clock.
Hallelujah, lordy Jesus, I CAN SEE!
Then I went home, groggy on Valium, with some crazy space goggles on my eyes to help keep them closed. I slept for fourteen hours, woke up, and was ²⁰⁄₂₀.
Several follow-​up visits occured at Kremer’s Philadelphia office on Locust St., where a friendly doctor evaluated my progress and checked my vision.
I had ZERO complications; I know my dad had to have his procedure done twice because he needed so much correction; my uncle needed three tries to get his perfect. The initial consult is very important to determine if you are a good candidate.
My experience was amazing, everyone, from the laser tech to the receptionist to the surgeon, was incredibly professional and made sure I understood what was happening at each stage of care. My dad is a neurologist who got his eyeballs done by Dr. Kremer about 20 years ago, and he wouldn’t have sent me here if he didn’t know they would provide high-​quality care.
