The Resource Center was founded in 2001 by N. Bruce Porter. Originally from Lebanon, Mo Bruce followed in his father, Neil’s footsteps as an Insurance Agent. Neil worked as a regional manager for 35 years before retiring in 1997. Bruce worked for 15 years as a captive agent for one of the largest insurance companies in the country. In 2001 he decided to pursue starting his own business. Bruce sat down with a yellow legal pad and drafted a business plan for a new kind of insurance and financial services company. At the top of the page were the words «Goals. Objectives. Priorities.» In no time, these words took form and became the theme, structure and culture of The Resource Center, Inc. Today our agency is positioned as a leader in the Midwest in the insurance and financial services industry with offices in Springfield and Branson, MO.
