Pop-A-Lock

Car door malfunctioned in the parking lot of Target, locking me outside with my baby, and my purse on the inside. Called at 8pm guaranteed 45 min or less and confirmed with a text. At an hr I called them, they said they were running behind, should be about 10 – 15 min. I wait 15 min and call again, and was told the same thing. I called about 6 times with a dying battery, crying baby, no money, and dwindling patience. The dispatcher was exceeding awful and needs a few lessons on being a decent human being to customers. Seriosuly, not asking for exceptional service, just normal decency. The guy finally arrived 2 ½ hrs later and proceeded to take another ½ hr or more to unlock the door as me and my baby waited in an empty parking lot… the guy was apologetic, but holy cow I’ve never seen it take this long for anything. I could have literally bought tools at Target, studied episodes of Macgyver, topped off with fine tuning from YouTube, and mastered the art of locksmithing after the second coming of Christ by the time this guy finished. He was pleasant and determined, I have to hand it to him, which is more than I can say about the «lady» (and I use that term loosely) at the dispatch center. She way horrible, and a liar, not to mention she had no idea how long it was going to take, she was just giving me an answer. Seriously consider your life choices before calling this company, it may be faster and less stressful to walk the 8 miles with a baby crying in your arms than waiting…

Super impressed with how fast and professional this company worked. Quoted 30 minutes by dispatcher, James arrived within 10. Efficient and service was completed within 5 minutes of his arrival. I would recommend this company to anyone in Killeen. I called one other company claiming their price was $ 29, then $ 25 and up for labor. This company gave me a flat rate of $ 39 and that’s what I was charged, no hidden charges. Like I said, I’m very happy with this company and as long as I am stationed here I will use them and recommend them to anyone I know in need of locksmithing.

The technician was great and fast. However I was quoted a 30min arrival time and he did not arrive until 1 hour after I had called.

The only reason I’m putting two stars is because the two people I spoke with on the phone initially were very nice. But 1 star for the actual locksmith technician who called me back to give me a quote on re-​keying the house I’m buying. I spoke to the same locksmith a couple of weeks ago just to get quote. He asked me how many locks and I explained to him that I wasn’t entirely sure of how many locks there were but I said at least two per door (dead bolt and regular handle). He responds in a rude tone «how do you not know?» and I said, well we’re buying the house and not closing until a certain date so I haven’t been in the house many times. He finally gives me the quote and continues to say that it is only a guesstimate because I don’t know how many locks there are. Obviously, that’s all I’m looking for, no need to be rude. So I just called them again today because they did happen to have the best price so I said I’d forget about the initial rudeness and I’d go ahead and schedule it for Friday (two days from today). I told him I wanted to do it on Friday later in the afternoon since we would be closing on the house first thing in the morning. First he tells me he’s booked until Monday, then he asks when I want it done and I tell him we are closing on Friday so I want it done on Friday. He tells me he never schedules re-​keys for the day of closing because closings get delayed. So he tells me to call him on Friday after I actual close on the house and he might be able to squeeze me in that afternoon, and if not, he could probably squeeze me in on Saturday. I explain to him that I don’t want to leave my new home vulnerable overnight on Friday night because anyone could have a spare key but he didn’t seem to care much about that. So we disconnected and I went with another company who had no problem scheduling me for Friday afternoon. Clearly Pop A Lock doesn’t care about getting my business so I didn’t care about giving it to them.

I requested roadside assistance through Geico with Pop A Lock Killeen. 20 minutes after scheduled arrival time, still no word from them. So I decided to call them, my call was answered but without them saying a word they hung up on me. Another 20 minutes later (40 minutes after the scheduled arrival time) I called again. This time a lady picked up. I explained my situation to her and she said she would call the technician and placed me on a hold. Several minutes later she told me that she couldn’t get a hold of the technician and fore to wait another 30 minutes. When I told her that I found the way they do business very unprofessional, she rudly hung up on me.
Needless to say I gave the lady a call back to give her a piece of my mind, come to find out she is actually a manager. Clearly this company does not want any business.
