We ordered plantation shutters through costco which brought us to home remedies on Oahu. Kit came to our house and portrayed a skilled and trustworthy representative which came out to be anything but. Our shutters ended up being installed over a month after we were told they would be. When they did get installed they installer required me to cut back trim and help with the install, then had to have two other people come in and assist him to get it all finished. This should have been an easy install for one competent person.
In the end they did not even wipe down the blinds or windows after they were finished so we had to clean up their mess.
After all that and multiple calls to their Maui branch because the Oahu branch was not even returning calls, they did not even give us the costco cash card that was promised as part of the deal.
No matter how convincing of a sales man Kit is, don’t go with them. You will not be happy.

I found Home remedies originally for a home estimate for window coverings. Glen was who I first met as he prepared one of several estimates I received when I was visiting my part time residence in Wailea for my new window coverings. I received all the bids during high season and decided I would wait to get into low season to select a vendor to do the work
Fast forward a few months later and I found out that my home had a pluming leak which caused $ 10k in damages. I remembered that Home Remedies also did remodeling so I called Glen to not only do my window coverings but also to do the work due to the plumbing leak.
The work provided included removed cottage cheese ceilings, adding recessed lighting, painting everything as well as the new window treatments.
The work was all done without my presence and so I was a little worried about the end product quality despite Glen keeping me well informed with photo updates.
When I finally came back to Maui to see the work, I was more than Impressed! Glen and his crew did an amazing job. I could not be any happier.
Even a year later, when I call with any questions, Glen and his team including his partner on the remodeling side, Frazier, have been nothing short of remarkable. On my last recent visit I noticed one of my window coverings had a minot problem. The problem was resolved in 3 short visits to obtain the parts and adjustments.
I will be working with Home Remedies in the future for any future home improvement needs.
One last night, Glen’s wife Barbara is a decorator. Kudos to Barbara for selecting the paint color for me. I love it!
