Awakening In Paradise

I came to Maui not knowing why. Of course it is a magnificently beautiful place — but I could have gone anywhere else. I had the urge to drive down from Napili to this store in Kihei and was happy I did… the whole point of my trip to this beautiful island. The three women in the store were amazingly conscious and helpful beings. Our TRIBE covers the globe!
I had an Oracle reading with Isis… and it truly was an Oracle reading. Every question I had come to the island with, was brought up (not by me) and answered on the spot… one after the other. I feel so supported that everything in my head and heart — my wildest dreams — were confirmed through Isis’s reading. Thank you! I will always come back!

Although the store is closed as of September 2015, you can still be in touch with the owner at the phone number listed here. She is a wonderful and amazing «Light Worker» named Judy. Absolutely a «gem» of a person… She can connect you with healing crystals and stones, as well as with other wonderful people, places, and things on the magical island of Maui.

Amazing little spot for gifts for every occasion. Just what Kihei needed. Crystals, books, cards, Buddhas, Kwan yin statues, everything you can imagine in one perfect little setting. Love this store!

This store has the best vibe of any place I found in Kihei. It feels like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the bustling town.
I cruised through the place admiring the great selection of self-​help books, greetings cards, all the crystals and the beautiful art that covers the walls.
They play peaceful music and offer psychic readings and even massage. I can’t recommend it highly enough to all visitors to the island. Aloha!

The first time I discovered this store, I was so happy to have a selection of books and gifts available in Kihei. As I keep coming back, I really appreciate the wonderful atmosphere, the kindness and all the offerings this book store has.

As I just mentioned in my review of Maui Brick Oven, we just got back from a fantastic vacation to Maui. Just wishing my tan had help up a bit longer… but I digress…
We stumbled upon the shopping center that Brick Oven and this place, Awakening in Paradise, were located… and glad we did.
Went here (brick oven) for an early dinner and afterwards, happened upon next door (awakening in paradise). Things in the window looked interesting and…*different*. I have to say, I get so tired of seeing all the same touristy… er, can I say ‘crap’ on Unilocal?The same cheap, plastic stuff that you can find in every airport, in every gift shop, everywhere. Not so here!
Awakening in Paradise, while not at all your typical [Hawaiian] «gift shop» definitely offers an INCREDIBLE assortment of interesting, fun, inspiring things… books, knick-​knacks, beautiful jewelry and crystals (things I’ve never seen before… felt kind of like a kid in a candy store, oohing and ahhing and the types of crystals/​rocks they had), and just interesting STUFF…(my wife and I said we both felt «everyone can find something in here that’s of interest»). Even their cards were cool — birthday cards, random occasion cards, etc.
In any case, super cool place — if we didn’t need to get back for our son’s bedtime, I felt like I could’ve curled up with a (few) good (super interesting) book (s) and just hung out in there. And in fact, I sort of did. I ended up coming back a few days later (hadn’t gotten my full fix) and spent some more quality time there by myself (to be fair, it’s not the MOST toddler-​friendly place what with all the (breakable) things to touch…). And in fact, a surprise for ME even (maybe it was the vacation-​ness running through my veins), but I went ahead and got a reading with one of their practitioners (they have a whole assortment of interesting services you can get… ok, that sounds a bit wrong… it’s a spiritual bookstore people, c’mon!). In any case, I opted for an astrological reading, which I hadn’t ever ascribed much credence to… but I have to say, the lady was kick-​butt. Super grounded and on the level… didn’t feel like what I usually picture readers to look like (perhaps I’ve seen too many movies or late-​night commercials). She touched on things from my «birth chart» (I’d given her my birth info (date, time, place, etc) in advance, and when we met, she had a full printed-​out chart that she walked me through). I won’t do it justice except to say, it was reeeeally cool and felt totally legit. Things that you really can’t «fake» or make up with generalities.
In any case, GO HERE! The staff were all SUPER friendly, I met the owner at one point (she’s adorable!), and again, a great change of scenery from all the typical, cheesy touristy stuff. Who would’ve thought, in life, we sometimes need to «fly to Maui» to find a touch of the inspiring, specifically at a great, unique place like this. Go Awakening in Paradise! (…a great name by the way… I, for one, got a bit awakened in paradise…). ;)
Oh, P. S., as I go to fill out the remaining survey below, I’d said above, «Not so great for toddlers», but that reminds me — they had a great section for kids — books and other fun stuff. We got a few things for our son and gifts for family friends. Again, really cool to find different sorts of things — not all the typical Dr. Seuss/​Disney stuff. So yes, in many ways, this place IS very kid-friendly…maybe just as long as their old enough to follow «please don’t touch that» directions… ;)
