History
Established in 2008.
We purchased the former Nigrelli’s Pizza in Kiel in spring of 2008 and upon completion of a full remodel in October, we were open for business. We named our new venture after our son, Parker John, and tailored the restaurant towards kids.
After 3 years we decided it was time for a change and borrowing from our years of experience in Kansas City, decided to change the concept towards BBQ, keeping the same great pizza we always had.
Three years to the day of our original opening the new Parker John’s BBQ and Pizza opened in Kiel. A fresh look with southwest décor, a new menu and the unmistakeable smell of hickory smoked meat in the air brought guests in to try the new items. The reception was great and we have not looked back.
Come on in and try one of our unique sandwiches or specialty pizzas. We are hickory smoking our meat daily and hand-cutting french fries to order. Make the short drive to Kiel and experience our great BBQ and friendly service.
Meet the Business Owner
Aaron and Jennifer Sloma S.
Business Owner
After working across the Midwest for a regional hospitality company, owners Aaron and Jennifer Sloma, along with Jennifer’s mother Patti decided it was time to buy their own restaurant.
After a long search we came across Millhome Supper Club a few miles east of Kiel. The year was 2006 and we were living in Iowa. We took ownership of Millhome in October of that year and quickly realized there was no pizza place in Kiel. It took 2 years of driving by a former pizza place that needed some work for Jennifer to convince Aaron that it was time to make the jump and start another restaurant. Parker John’s was then born.
