History

Established in 1963.

Opened in 1963 by George Terrell Sr. and originally located on Mineral Street in Keyser, George’s American Station offered gasoline, vehicle maintenace and repair, all while establishing a standard for customer service that George and his wife Guelda could be proud of. From the beginning, the business was built on family, both actual relatives and customers that, in time, became family. Eventually, the business was expanded to the current location on Carskadon Lane. In the 1980s, George’s oldest son George H. Terrell Jr. (Terry) took over. Since Terry was involved from the start, the transformation was a natural transition. Along with his wife Shirley, Terry carried on the buiness with the same standards that were established by his parents. Currently in its third generation, Terry’s son, Greg, traded a corporate career with a national auto parts chain to take over the business.
