Fairfield Inn & Suites Key West

Stayed here for Memorial Weekend and really can’t complain about much! Our king suite was great and I especially loved the balcony as well as the pool area. We ate breakfast during our stay and the staff was extremely accommodating. Only thing that I didn’t like too much was Lisa, the bartenders dry attitude. She acted as if she didn’t want to work that day and coming from someone who works in hospitality, she had the wrong personality. Drinks were okay but I might as well have ordered juice instead of a mixed drink. Other than that our trip was great and I would definitely return!

The rooms are a bit on the small side, but they work for the space needed to have a good «Home Base» for a vacation. They have a good morning breakfast and a very helpful staff… for the most part. Over memorial weekend there was a staff member that was working the late shift and kicked a good amount of people, who were making a ruckus, out of the pool area at 4 am, understandable, but then proceeded to come up to the second floor where I and my wife were standing and then proceeded to tell us we needed to return to our room. We were making no noise and enjoying the evening ocean breeze. I asked her for her name in order to inform the actual shift leader of her unprofessional behavior. She then said «OK, I am calling the cops.» 20 min or so later after we had started to go to sleep the police knocked on the door. Without any reason or provocation, other than I asked for her name, we were then removed from the hotel by the actually very polite officers. Nancy is the name of the employee that was the reason for all of this, and I hope more than anything they removed her from employment.
I will be taking this further and making sure this never happens again.

Our 3 day stay was great! The rooms are on the smaller side, but who needs space when you’re in Key West?! The best part of the hotel was the pool and bar area. Our bartender Ed was great to talk to. He gave my husband and I a recommendation to go to the Thirsty Mermaid for dinner. And so we did, and it was great! Thanks Ed! You rock! I’d stay here again.

Noisy and small. The walls are like tissue paper. You could hear everyone in the courtyard and walking by your door thru 2am. The rooms are very small but nice. The standard room was a tight fit for 2 adults and 2 kids and we did not have much luggage. The staff was excellent and the pool was fantastic for the family. It is far from all the restaurants and attractions. But again I couldn’t get over the noise levels. Like the cleaning crew talking at the top of their lungs just out side your door or the guy with the leaf blower every morning At 7:30 to clean the walk areas. Not very relaxing. I would recommend to find something more in town.

Good hotel, great pool, comfortable cabanas. The room Is kinda small, but clean And well preserved. Foods And drinks are not the fortee of the place, but Its a Good value hotel. I would come back.

This is a nice hotel. As with all commercial lodging in Key West, it is overpriced. A hotel of this quality on the mainland would be average at best.
A nice feature the buildings are elevated on stilts in the event of flooding. Space for parking cars is below. There is a large swimming pool and adjoining eating area for guests.
We stayed here for 1 night only. You’ll need a car, take a shuttle bus, or hire a taxi to get to downtown from here.

Hotel is outpost for key west. Nothing here and staff friendly. Bar is plastic cups. Not good

Worst experience ever, arrived on Dec. 27 without reservation and was hard to find a hotel. We found this one, room rate 449 per night you will expect at least a decent experience. AC didn’t work you can tell that they really took advance of the holiday season! We complained and a very rude manager came didn’t let us talk and gave us an amazing disc of 50 dollars. Do no Stay here and if you have to please do not stay in 101! We had stay at the ritz Carlton and believe me this one can be only compare with motel 6! Also we told the manager that my brother in law’s kids woke up with bug bites … He didn’t care

The front desk staff was incredibly polite & accommodating. I called for extra towels & they were brought to my room in about 3 minutes. The Pool & bar area is gorgeous!!! We stayed in a standard room with two double beds. Although the room is on the smaller side, they use the space quite wisely. They definitely need to figure out a way for the guests to have more access to parking. We stayed during the week so we didnt have an issue but clearly would if it was the weekend.

Great deal! My husband and I had an amazing time. It’s about 2 miles from Duval so we walked there and took a cab back to the hotel. Beautiful pool area. Try and get a 2^nd floor pool view room. We’re Marriott rewards members so they gave us 2 for 1 drink tickets for the hotel bar. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. Room was updated and clean. We will definitely be back.

Marriott Fairfield is a very clean hotel. I stayed there for 3 days in July 2015 Very good service employees and I can’t think of one thing they can improve on. The breakfast buffet was kept clean and the food was very good. All the employees I talked with were very friendly and helpful. This is a family hotel so even though there is a poolside bar it was not crowded with people there to party. I always try to go to Marriott hotels when I travel because I have never seen one that hasn’t been outstanding. Prices are fair even though higher than some others but you get what you pay for. If I could recommend anything to the management to this particular hotel it would be that they use the shuttle from the Marriott beachfront to bring people down to Duval Street

Fairfield is a good place to stay if you are on a budget traveling to Key West. Most hotels are super expensive, and this place is reasonably priced and gets the job done. The rooms aren’t too impressive, but they are clean enough and are comfortable. There is a pool and tiki bar. Also, there is a nice breakfast included, which is an added perk. About a 5 – 10 minute drive from the center and Duval Street. Nice stay overall.

I stayed here for three nights, and everything was absolutely amazing. The front desk clerks were very attentive and nice, the concierge was extremely knowledgable and had an answer for every single question we asked. Free hot continental breakfast is always a plus. (Scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, etc…)
The highlight of the hotel would have to be Lisa @ the bar by the pool. She is AWESOME! We went to her everyday and she made great drinks. And gave us tips about things on the island. She really was super friendly and attentive with us. She even made jokes won my friends when they made a mess at her bar. (Sorry Lisa!)
The reason I’m not giving this hotel a 5 star is because the rooms were a bit small. Two beds a TV, vanity, and bathroom. No desk or extra sitting space. But it was a very nice and modern room.
My opinion, great place to stay. Just make sure you go see Lisa!
Oh yeah, everyone saying that this is to far from Duval (2 miles away) I actually prefer that. You aren’t in the middle of the debauchery. It’s nice and quiet. Plus they rent bikes, scooters and electric cars. So there’s your solution!

Amenities are good, but it is a little far from all the attractions of Key West.
Just to get it out of the way first, if you want to walk to Duval street, this is not where you want to stay. Key West may not seem large (1.5 miles by 4 miles) and even though this hotel is approximately 2 miles from Duval street, you wouldn’t want to walk there. Therefore, even though you might save a bit on the room, you might end up paying it with the taxi (taxi cost us $ 4.50 per person and there were 5 of us).
There is a trolly that stops here and will take you around the island. However, the trolly only goes one way (so you are stuck on it for 90 minutes if you want to get to the stop right before the Fairfield Inn) and it ends at 4:30 p.m.
The good is this is a very nice hotel. The pool area is large and there are some great cabanas. It’s very clean and modern. We hung out at the hotel bar for a bit and really enjoyed it.
The complimentary breakfast is very good. They have eggs, waffles, sausages, bagels, etc. It was a great variety.
I probably wouldn’t stay here again just because I want to be in the heart of Key West, but it is a great option.

Good place clean rooms, tile wood floors throughout nice modern update seems to be pretty newly updates. Hot breakfast great coffee the pool is very nice. good for the price.

Pros: Very helpful staff. Great pool. Free breakfast buffet. Great concierge. Very clean room and bathroom. Not too far from Duval.
Cons: The room was a little small and the water pressure in the shower wasn’t that strong.
The cons were me being nit-​picky. I didn’t come to Key West to hang out in my hotel room. Great place.

This place is really nice. They recently renovated and everything is in great shape. Free breakfast is fantastic. The rooms are a little small but very nice. The pool is also perfect temperature. Only about a mile out of downtown which is very convenient. I have a bike with me and I’m able to easily get to town. I think this place is worth the price and would stay here again.

Although Marriott brags that this vibrant Key West style Fairfield is the closest Marriott property to Duval Street, it is not within walking distance. So you either have to cab it over to Duval, drive and pay for parking or rent scooters (which is what I would highly recommend). If you want to rent scooters don’t rent them from the Fairfield since the price tag at the Fairfield is a lot higher than other local scooter rental shops close by like Key West Moped & Scooter rentals– don’t worry, they’ll pick you up and drop you off when you are done.
Check-​in experience was lovely. This Fairfield is the only hotel in Key West who has got it right when it comes to being friendly and being hospitable. We were given a sweet juice drink upon check-​in which was a nice touch and front desk staff was extremely pleasant.
Poolside complementary breakfast was delightful: Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, eggs, waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, etc. breakfast staff were accommodating and always asking if we wanted refills on OJ or something else from the breakfast so that we wouldn’t have to get up.
The resort style pool was a nice oasis getaway from the Key West commotion and debauchery. The pool area is the one thing that Marriott should boast about this property.
Rooms were «eeeeeeehhh» and a bit below average. Rooms were small, but clean. Beds were as hard as a rock and forget about queen/​king size beds and prepare yourself to cuddle closer with your significant other/​bunkmate because the beds are full size. A part of the bathroom –the sink– was shared with the room leaving the shower and toilet private. Bathroom was tiny and the water pressure from the shower head was like an elephant hose, which I guess is okay if you like a deep tissue massage whole showering.
Parking is free and that is a great thing when you are staying in Key West because most hotels charge for parking due to the lack of parking on the island. Oh, and parking is covered which is an extra plus!
Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Fairfield and would stay here again if rates are low and I feel the mood to rent scooters. If you have the chance to stay at The Banyan Resort rather then the Fairfield, then do it because it’s more or less the same price and in the middle of the Duval Street action!

This hotel is two miles from duval street so a taxi is required. One time our rate was $ 16 and another night $ 9. Not sure how they determine cab fares in this town.
The rooms are clean and updated. Very quiet. Pool area is resort like. Friendly front desk staff.
The free breakfast buffet is plentiful… waffles, sausage, eggs, hard boiled eggs, pineapple, melon, toast, juice, coffee, yogurt, oatmeal. Very friendly breakfast staff. They clear your plates.
At 4pm each day, the pool bar hands out Popsicles.
I stayed here as part of a wedding at a reduced rate. I would prefer to be in walking distance to duval, but the amenities here are great. Lots of free parking… some is covered! Next door there is a great BBQ place and a crossfit to burn it off.

Clean, bleach-​scented room. Beach-​like feel. Tiled floor throughout. Painted stucco walls and ceiling: sky blue, sunny yellow, crisp white. Charming shutters on the window interior. No full-​length mirror but you’re on an island where shorts and flip flops are the norm so usually it won’t matter.
The ceilings are low and if you’re tall, the shower may be a challenge. I could easily touch the ceiling.
If you’re going to Duvall for the restaurants and night life, you’ll probably need some transportation (definitely if you’re wearing heels). You can take a cab or rent a scooter. Fyi, the speed limit on the island is maxed around 40 – 45 mph. There’s a scooter rental office conveniently located near the pool. Taxis are plentiful on the island.
I was debating 3 stars since I expect more from a resort area like Key West but the continental breakfast and friendly staff pushed it to 4.
It’s nice for a short stay!
