Award winning photographer, Luis Melendi, owns and operates Melendi Photography, LLC. A portrait and commercial studio now based in Key Largo, serving Monroe, Dade and Broward Counties since 1975.

Melendi’s images are included in the National Loan Collection and the Photography Hall of Fame. He is past president of both the Miami Photographer’s Guild (PPGF) and the Florida Professional Photographers (FPP).

The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Certified Melendi in 1980; In addition, he earned and holds the following degrees: Master of Photography, Photographic Craftsman, Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence, and the Florida Service Award. For his contributions to the FPP, the PPGF and the PPA, Luis was bestowed the coveted Life Membership Award by all three associations.

History

Established in 1975.

Luis Melendi, owner of Melendi Photography an exclusive portrait and commercial studio in Greater Miami since 1975… by mid 1980’s he was recognized for his many outstanding professional accomplishments, as well as his dedicated services to the community.

Luis began his new photography career in the early ’70’s, during his last stage as a drummer in a rock & roll band. He focused on winning awards, pleasing his clients and financial satisfaction. He joined the Miami Guild (PPGF) and the Florida Professional Photographers (FPP) and became active in those associations immediately. In ’77 he was appointed editor of The Florida Photographer magazine and won many top honors from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). He retired after 36 years.

In 2005 Luis opened his current Key Largo studio and became a member of the Chamber of Commerce (KLCC). He was asked to join the Board of Directors and served two terms. In 2015 he was one again elected to another term in the BOD.
