«Skip the coffee chain and head for Grape Juice, a gem of a restaurant off the city’s main street, which is currently being redeveloped. Original art adorns the walls in a loft-​like space that is conceptually divided into three parts. It has a wine store, a large bar with about 20 beers on tap (including a rotation of local brews), and a restaurant, where you can eat antelope sliders or quail tacos. Patrick Wilt, the owner, sources wines from all over the world, but he respects the locavore movement by selecting ingredients from Broken Arrow Ranch and Diamond H Ranch, two farms located in nearby Ingram and Bandera respectively.» –Texas Monthly & NY Times Sept 2011

History

Established in 2007.

We Opened in Ingram in 2007 as a retail wine shop, then in 2008 we opened the By the Glass Bar above the Ingram Retail Shop, then in 2009, we bought the building in downtown Kerrville and Opened Grape Juice as you see it today… a retail shop, wine/​beer bar, and restaurant.

Patrick Wilt, the son of two Marines, was raised in Richardson, Texas where the house was always buzzing with great food, wine and friends. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Patrick began his 12 year career in wine working for a wine distributor where he was responsible to building wine lists and cellars for fine dining restaurants in Dallas.

After the birth of his second child, Patrick moved the family to Hunt to get out of the city and gain some sanity in the Hill Country where they opend Grape Juice.
