The Pizza Barn

My partner and I stopped in on a Friday night during Whiskey Flats Days. We ordered a Zesty Veggie pizza and mozzarella sticks. The restaurant was PACKED, but the staff was incredibly calm, kind, and professional.
The pizza was delicious, piled high and deep with fresh vegetables and a very generous amount of chicken. I went to the counter to ask for a to-​go box, and noticed that the kitchen was really buzzing. I’m not kidding when I say the place was packed. Regardless, the staff were hustling along, dealing with customers and completing orders with a great attitude.
Even the owner was in the trenches, greeting customers and fetching napkins, etc.
All in all, we had a great experience and we will be returning.

Great place. Everything is super fresh, even the salad bar seemed to come straight from someones backyard garden. Atmosphere is very comfortable right down to the wood burning stove. Prices are fair and service is great. This will definitely be a regular stop.

The pizza was great! The inside is clean and comfortable. Definitely coming back the next time I visit Kernville!

Best pizza I have ever had. It’s definitely a must to check out if you are in the area. I have drove over an hour before just to have their pizza.

Sorry, I usually don’t write more negative reviews, but… Thanks to the ridiculous price of a pizza here, and the relative average-​ness of their flavor combos, I’d rather buy me a $ 7 frozen pizza at the store down the road.

This pizza is just like very very very good at pleasing atmosphere got Coca-​Cola décor everywhere beautiful scenery I recommend this place if your going to kernville ca I give this place seven stars. they have been upstairs area arcade for the kids to play they have outside seating they even have delivery

We are relatively new residents of the Lake Isabella area and happened to run into the Pizza Barn for a piece of pizza one day when in Kernville. We were very happily surprised. We ended up ordering a couple of pizzas to go, and were so happy with the pizzas, that it is our new favorite pizza place in the Kern River Valley. The salad bar is excellent and a really fair-​priced deal. We now drive 20 minutes just to go to the Pizza Barn for pizza. The ambiance is excellent, the food is above average, and the service is good enough to keep us coming back.

I was up here visiting with family and we went here for a late lunch. The pizza was really good, very fresh, the service was quick, the environment was warm and welcoming. My only complaint was the guy who took our order seemed really detached, he wouldn’t make eye contact, he seemed almost upset that we were there. I am somebody that appreciates good customer service, I don’t really expect it, but if it seems like someone enjoys what they do for a living then I feel more comfortable supporting that business. I don’t know what his name is, but whoever he is, he either was having a bad day and was taking it out on the customers or he really was put out that we were there, and obviously from out of town. I will probably go here again if I am ever in the area again because the food really was good.

Great local pizza place. Good beers on tap, the pizza was pretty bomb and they offered me a free ranch cup when I was ordering. Genius. Up here from Orange County and I’m glad I stumbled into the Pizza Barn.

Amazing thick crust pizza! Loved the salad bar too! I got the zesty veggie chicken, minus the chicken. It was so good and hit the spot!

Dined at The Pizza Barn on Thursday, August 13^th. The pizza was okay, not the best I’ve had, not the worst. What struck my husband and I was when the young man brought our pizza, he had a beard that was not covered or restrained. Please consider having anyone that has a beard (this was not a super short beard either) that has contact with food, use a beard restraint. I know a person may think they don’t look cool with a beard restraint but patrons truly appreciate when food servers wear them.

2 – 402.11 Effectiveness.
(A) Except as provided in ¶ (B) of this section, food employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, beard restraints, and clothing that covers body hair, that are designed and worn to effectively keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; and unwrapped single-​service and single-​use articles.
(B) This section does not apply to food employees such as counter staff who only serve beverages and wrapped or packaged foods, hostesses, and wait staff if they present a minimal risk of contaminating exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; and unwrapped single-​service and single-​use articles.
I also recommend that you do a thorough cleaning of your window areas, especially the ones that are covered with blinds. Seeing dead insects along the window sill is not appetizing. The dining area should be just as clean as the kitchen.
This is just a helpful review to make a more sanitary environment :)

Placed a delivery order while camping at Rivernook. The gal over the phone was super nice. We ordered a large white water and large cheese. We were surprised when our order was delivered within the time indicated. Both were hot and tasty! We will definitely order from them again!

Great pizza to pick up and take back to your campsite :)

This place was recommended to us by one of the antique shop owners in town. It really hit the spot after an afternoon with our kids tubing and playing at the river. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, good prices, great pizza, ice cold beer… all adds up to a winner of a meal.

My husband and I look forward to pizza barn pizza whenever we come to the kern. Tonight we picked up our pizza 20 minutes after we ordered it — very fast service. We walked in and someone said «to go order for Kim» — talk about perfect timing! Took our pizza and garlic cheese bread back to our house and got started. We got a medium half and half — half meat lovers for him and half zesty chicken veggie for me. Unsurprisingly our meal did not disappoint! Out of this world delicious pizza. Garlic cheese bread was great too. I told the woman on the phone we needed a substantial amount of ranch and she convinced me to get the 16 oz side of ranch for an extra 2 dollars. I’m glad we did because their ranch is fabulous! Like some of the best ranch I’ve ever had. We’re gonna pick up some lettuce tomorrow so we can have a tasty salad with tasty ranch tomorrow! Total cost was about 23 bucks. Totally reasonable. We’re heating up some more to eat now! Go get pizza here.

Yum! Loved the pizza. Crust is really good. Especially appreciated after days of camping. We will definitely go back!

So here’s the thing with the Pizza Barn… it’s pretty frick’n AWSOME! I’ve been eating here for years, my favorite pie is the bbq chicken. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and savory and the cheese is THE CHEESIEST CHEESE IN THE CHEESE RIVER VALLEY. (I’m trade marking that) my wifey digs the chicken and veggie ’cause of the fresh ingredients like artichoke hearts and avocado. Personally I like my ingredients meaty and smokey and saucy and cheesey and on a delicious crust… just like they serve it at pizza barn. Here’s a tip, sometimes they run an all you can eat lunch special (during the week) which will allow you to sample a variety of pies and chow down on the salad bar.
PS Beer and a big screen + an arcade for all yer ankle bitters.

We were fishing on the Kern river last week when my friend said we got to try this pizza place I heard they make good pizzas, And me being very picky about what I eat and where I eat it, I started asking the locals about this place, and every person I asked recommended it very highly, hmmmmmmm !!!
(Just for the record) My wife is 100% Sicilian and her mother used to make all kind of Italian food, So I know the taste of REAL Italian food !!!
And let me tell you that I haven’t had a pizza like the one I ate there since my mother-​in-​law passed away 15 years ago. Your reputation is well earned.

The lunch special is the best value during the week in Kernville. The pizza was fresh, with pepperoni and their famous whitewater. The salad bar has fresh veges, fluffy lettuce and is really yummy. I definitely recommend the Pizza Barn!

They’ll split a pizza for you including one of their specialty styles which we appreciated because our xL pizza had a personality disorder. All veggie on one side and all meat on the other. It was perfect for us.
Their pizza hit the spot after a hot day of river rafting along the kern river. Pizza is always a nice inexpensive way to share a meal with a large group of friends and we had no complaints about the delicious pizza served at the Pizza Barn.
