Holiday Inn Express Kernersville

Comfortable and quiet stay for the price. I stayed here while in town for High Point Market and was very pleased. This hotel is conveniently located, and is only a quick drive in either direction to Greensboro or the High Point area. The staff at the front desk were always pleasant and helpful.
The room was very clean, and I slept quite comfortably in the bed. I liked that they had four pillows clearly labeled with ‘soft’ and ‘firm’. I would give the water pressure in the shower a B+. Good selection of TV channels. I did not try to connect to the internet, so I cannot speak to how well the WiFi worked! The iron worked well, and ironing board was in good shape. The daytime cleaning staff did a great job as well.
I was disappointed by the breakfast. The eggs had an odd texture and the sausage was pretty rubbery. The coffee was good, and the cereal/​milk I had on my second morning was pretty standard. I would stay away from their ‘hot breakfast’ options next time, and stick to yogurt or cereal.
All in all, I would definitely choose this hotel again if I am down in NC for Market.

Good value for $. Friendly staff. Quiet location. Breakfast was quite good. Place is especially clean. They provide a discount for AAA membership.

Good hotel for what it is. It’s clean and there is breakfast (though no laundry). It’s obviously not a luxury hotel, so don’t expect that.
However, the lady who works the front desk, Meredith, is amazing. My coworkers and I were here for about 12 days for work in October, and she went above and beyond for us all the time.

One disadvantage of «winging it’ when you travel is not having a fixed reservation somewhere so that when you’re ready to stop you already know where. On the other hand, one advantage is finding hidden gems along the way. This particular HI is one of those. It’s a small hotel, two stories only, and a parking lot that probably wouldn’t hold cars for all the guests if each of the rooms was occupied.
The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming but didn’t seem very organized and kept asking for information that had already been supplied and was right there in front of them. For some reason the AC in the hotel hallways wasn’t turned on or working, so there was no relief from the hot outside there; but once I got into the room, the air conditioning worked very well.
This hotel is right off the interstate and surprisingly quiet for being so close to it.
A couple of miles away there’s a few spots that looked pretty interesting for restaurants, but nothing close enough to walk.
It’s a nice hotel for the price, just don’t expect to check-​in quickly.
