I picked up a Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar at the Toss’d Salads location in the US Bank Centre in Seattle. They are to die for! I may have to search my local PCC for them. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, Celiac/Vegan or otherwise, give these a try.

Yum! Let me preface by saying I really love wheat, gluten, soy, yeast etc. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, nor do I hae any sort of food allergies(that I know of), but I can certainly admit when I’ve discovered delicious pastries, and these qualify. I recently got to try a massive array of treats including: Chcocolate Chip Scone Lemon Blueberry Scone Cherry Almond Scone Mixed Berry Scone Iced Sugar Cookie Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Cookie Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Chocolate Chip Cookie Raspberry Oatmeal Bar Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar Chocolate Walnut Brownie All of these peices of heaven were fantastic and it certainly helped me to remember that delicious food can come in a slightly more natural package. While I will continue to balance such desserts with generous helpings of wheat and gluten, I still recommend these to anyone, including those who want or need the gluten/wheat free alternatives.

Sunny Valley Wheat Free has closed it’s retail doors and moved to a new location as a Wholesale Only bakery. Their products are available at PCC, Natures Market in Kent, Roslyn Natural Market and Pizza Works in Bothell Do I give them 5 stars because we still carry their products, 1 because they closed their retail doors or something else? Everyone help me out on this. Let Pizza Works know if you want any of their products. The last time I picked up product the owner asked if we would take requests at Pizza Works.

All I can say is yum. I head down from Redmond for this place after all the praise from Unilocal.I was not disappointed! I basically went Supermarket Sweep on the place, starting from the door and ending at the freezer case. You must hit the freezer case! I’m basing my review primarily on the strength of the frozen ravioli and lasagna. These two things alone make it worth the drive. The ground turkey and spinach ravioli could easily be made into potstickers with a bit of a tweak. They’re solid meat with a bit of green and absolutely delicious! The lasagna reminds me of my much-missed Stouffer’s frozen. I added a bit of sauce to the top and a bit more cheese and it was a real winner. The donuts are great too, if you can get them. That and a cup of coffee for me is an afternoon in heaven. Thank you so much, everyone at SVWF for making this gluten-free girl so so happy!

This is hands down the best gluten free bakery that I have tried so far. We discovered it entirely accidentally one day after eating at the Taco Time and almost missed it entirely. Upon entering I was completely underwhelmed by the stark and empty appearance but closer inspection revealed a wide variety of items I’ve longed for since giving up gluten. My personal favorites include the peanut butter bar with thick chocolate topping, the chocolate covered cream puffs and the chocolate cupcake with white frosting(which reminded me very much of Ho-Ho). The bread is good, I made a delicious crostini that EVERYONE raved about at the Christmas party from the onion & dill loaf, but I don’t really care much for gluten free breads, they just aren’t a comparison for the light airy texture that is unique to gluten(sigh). What I didn’t like? Well, I know that gluten free also means expensive in general but some of the items are way to much for me to justify trying(like the Ravioli that is nearly $ 10 for approx. one serving). I also did not care for the mini pizza’s they have in the freezer, the crust was ok but the toppings are healthy alternatives like turkey pepperoni and chicken sausage that just don’t do it for me and the sauce tasted like it was straight out of the can tomato sauce. The owners are usually the ones behind the counter and you can tell that they put a lot of love and hard work into this business. I’m not sure how well the location works for them since it is a bit out of the way but I hope they stick around for a long, long time. It is also worth mentioning that they aren’t open on Mondays.

My daughter needs to eat wheat free products and has had a hard time finding good bread. The bread here tastes so good that everyone in the family likes it. They have mini loaves of banana bread, cookies, cakes, everything you can imagine. They will also ship products that do not require refrigeratin.

Sunny Valley Wheat Free is a bright, warm and cheerful place to visit for gluten-free baked goods, including bread, scones and doughnuts. The bakery also sells GF pastas, such as ravioli and many other frozen foods for the gluten intolerant. Tucked away in a small strip mall, Sunny Valley is a bit out of the way but is worth the drive. Their website has a link to online ordering if you can’t make it to Maple Valley. The owner of the bakery is friendly, knowledgeable and always pleasant. After going to a GF café/bakery in Seattle and being treated badly I’ve turned my attention(and money) toward Sunny Valley. It’s worth the trip. Your GF body will thank you!

I love this bakery! I was diagnosed with Celiac 11 years ago and have been struggling to find good gluten-free baked goods. The woman who runs the bakery really gets it. I want GF food that tastes good and is pretty much the same as I could get before I went GF. I don’t like anything too fancy. I don’t need everything to be ultra healthy… no carob… no honey instead of sugar. Just good gluten-free baked goods. I highly recommend the doughnuts and the cream puffs. Ooh and the chocolate chip cookies!
