St Columba’s Episcopal Church

Like many, I never agreed with many of the rules purported by the religion I was born into. After years of struggle, I decided to leave my religion and I had found myself ‘Faith Shopping.’ This was about seven years ago, when I stumbled across a small church in Walla Walla with a sign out front that said ‘St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Welcomes You!‘
I ended up being confirmed in the church about a year later. After I graduated from college, I came back to Federal Way looking for another Episcopal Church. I used to pass by St. Columba’s and had sent my then fiancé to check it out and see how it was. They immediately welcomed him and treated him like he’d been there for years. Our first day there together, we were asked if we would like to bring the gifts (tithe, Holy Communion items) up to the altar. We were always asked to help be more involved with the church and the many activities they provide.
St. Columba’s has a great family-​friendly atmosphere, and the sign out front doesn’t lie: you are welcome, no matter who you are or what your faith is. Many of my friends who have visited over the years are from many different faiths or are atheist. They have participated in singing in the choir and have been welcome to take Communion with us.
If you are looking for an open and welcoming church, I highly recommend St. C’s. You don’t have to be Episcopalian, just please know you are always welcome here.
