Rock Creek Landing Apartments

Don’t move here. The apartments may look okay on the outside but they’re not. Our apartment was decent for the first month and then after that the mold started forming. It was always stuffy in our apartment and hard to breathe in. I would say 50% of our power outlets didn’t work as well and the ones that did work were so loose anything plugged into them wouldn’t stay plugged in.
Everything was so cheap it would eventually break like our garbage disposal and they never came to fix it after telling them a few times it was broken. My bathrooms toilet leaked water from the back causing more mold to grow. Luckily I cleaned it up and got rid of it no problem. I had to throw away several items of mine due to being contaminated with mold. They wouldn’t do anything about it either. Parking was a joke. After 6PM everything was full and I work nights so I’d have to park in another section of the complex to even get parking.
The management was a joke, they spent thousands of dollars fixing and remodeling the clubhouse but couldn’t fix anything in our apartment. We moved out in December of 2015 and still haven’t received our deposit check back yet. They’ve sent it to our old apartments address 3 times after receiving an updated address to send the check to.
This place is awful and I don’t no recommend living here.

Lived here now 2 years. When I first moved in, the pond in front of our place looked really good. That changed in about 5 weeks. It now looks like a bacteria farm. I have told the old and new management to do something about it, they have not. Instead they spent $ 25,000 to update the club house where the employees work out of. Had a problem with the sink, the department responsible for repairing that, used a non water resistant calk to seal the problem. I finally just did it myself. I have never been late on rent, but received a 3 day notice for late rent. They have towed my car while I was out of town on business and they are very disrespectful. honestly I would look for a cardboard box over this place.

Do not move here. Management is not professional and they have no clue what happens this these apartments. You have to take a shower, wash clothes and use your dishwasher one at a time. If not you will get scolded from the hot water. You also will need to clean all the mold from your windows twice a month. My boyfriends truck was broken into a couple nights ago. I guess there is security, roaming around not sure how that is so, when it had to take the thieves at least 30mins to remove all the items from the truck. When management was told while giving them the rent check, she says «there is nothing we can do, but have security patrol more». Haaaaa sure. Don’t do it. Keep looking else where. He has 6 more months. Lucky him.

I didn’t listen to good reviewer in here so i have to learn my lesson the hard way. The management so is bad even after Greystar bought them over from Holland (they keep the previous office personel). I have great experience with the new office staffs in here but that one lady that driving the red Mazda from the previous owner of this place is absolutely rude. Every time i talked to her, she seem to have attitude problem. I am a college graduated and i work for a very big airplane builder company, with that being said I mean to treat people with respect, and i am not an ass… She talked to everyone like she is their boss. I thought me living in here helping her feeding her family. I just dont know why they still keeping her working in here.
Everything about this place is starting to fall apart after a few months. They paint over the mold area just like mentioned from previous review. They have people going around blowing trash and dirt into my balcony.
They will try to charge you as much random money as possible (collecting 5 $ every month for no reason)
I told my rommate to moved after the first year but she decided to stay and soon enough she learned her lesson. The system is so mess up, after she renew her lease, they charge her late fee because there is conflict between the new rent and the old rent. We are never late on our rent, and they make us going around buying money order that has a value of a few dollars because they dont take cash and personal check.
If anyone ever read the lease agreement like i did you will feel like you live in a jail. I swear i didn’t exaggerate. They are holding everything on their side if anything ever happen to you, your property, your visitors and guess what’s. They could kick you out anytime they want no matter what. If you leave your pet outside and they don’t like it. They will call the humane society to take them. My neighbors agree to take care of her friend’s dog for a couple days, someone in the office see it and they asked her to remove the dog immediately without asking any question. The poor dog has nothing to do with this. These people are heartless. Dont live here if you dont want people to treat you like crap.

Even beyond the crappy management at Rock Creek Landing, my biggest issue with my apartment was the MOLD. We had a soft spot in the wall that we found out was where water was flowing causing mold. if it rained hard enough water would come out of my kitchen ceiling fixture. when I first moved into my unit I coughed up blood for about a month and had terrible respiratory issues. The closet that my water heater was in was connected to my bathroom and it continuously leaked and flowed through the wall causing black mold to spread through the closet. DO NOT RENT HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH! This place should be condemned.

I recommend this place to no one.
We’ve lived here since January and since then we received notices every month about money that we owe.
We pay everything to the penny, on time and sometimes even early and yet we always receive notices on our door saying we owe more money. The notices are never straight forward saying what exactly we owe the amounts are always categorized as «other». WTF is other? If it’s not rent, garage, utilities or late fees…
When we go to the office to straighten anything out, our account is never updated with all the checks we turn in. They always give us BS excuses about how it’s the 3^rd party billings’ fault for putting the wrong amount. We supposedly signed up for a set rent, a set utilities and a set parking amount and yet we are always asked to pay more every damn month.
If you are currently here, never trust anything they say. Always have EVERYTHING documented. since we came in to sign the lease, they’ve been disorganized and messing with our money.
STAY AWAY FROM ROCK CREEK LANDING.

I just want to say thank you to everyone on Unilocal for putting the reviews on here. I was literally on my way out the door to go pay for my application (this $ 200 admin fee also, non refundable which I thought was weird) and JUST noticed the reviews on google so decided to just check it out. WOW AM I GLAD I DID! Thanks guys! I will definitely take our money somewhere else! We expecting our 3^rd child and I just don’t want to deal with mold, crime and asshole management. Thanks again! You have saved us a lot of pain and bs.

Our apartment was nice looking, but that’s about where the fun ends. Our cats had fleas the entire time we lived here, no matter what medications we bought, how many times we flea bombed, what we cleaned, ect, and management refused to have the rest of the building bombed to take care of the problem. They refused to do much of anything, being really hard to get a hold of (always shutting the doors for extended lunch breaks during their already short office hours, and rarely answering the phones).
They had obviously painted over a mold problem in the bathrooms and bedrooms, because it started to slowly show through the longer we lived there.
The grounds looks really beautiful at a glance, but are constantly covered in duck poop and angry geese. It would serve them better to pave over all those ponds and make more PARKING, because if you get home after 5 pm you might as well forget it. We got multiple letters addressed to the entire complex about people parking in the ‘no parking’ zones, but there is no where else to go. I had to leave my car at the park and ride and walk home if I got home late.
They’re located directly next to a business that sells mulch, and there’s a huuuuuge pile of it looming over the complex. It’s not a big deal in the winter, but the second the weather starts warming up, the whole place starts smelling like hot rot.
There were fights in the parking lot, cops called all the time, and people blaring their car stereos at all hours of the day and night.
They tried charging us for another month’s rent when we moved out, and it took a lot of angry phone calls to get our money back.
Save yourself a huge hassle and don’t move here.

Rock Creek apartments are next to Carpinto Bros. a top soil distributor… and they have mountains of top soil and when it rains it actually smells like a DEAD CAT! carpets are dirty and have holes, mold in closets and there is a train that BLOWS its HORN at 9:30pm and 4:30am its a nightmare getting a good night rest here. STAY AWAY from this Dump!!!

I was here for an entire year! My apt was broken into and things were taken and it is extremely pricey for a small unit. In the summer smells like straight up bark and I moved out on time when my lease was up and I also wrote my notarized note to let them know I’m leaving the premises and they said it wasn’t a «PROPER» note so I was penalized for that and charged 3months worth of rent after moving out what a fucking joke.

Update after another year of living at Rock Creek Landing North. Just want everyone to know that my opinion hasn’t changed a bit. Everything is just as bad as it was. I did not feel safe in these apartments at all. About a week ago, one evening, right in front of our apartment there was a really loud sound that sounded like a gunshot with a spark. No idea what it was, but it also caused a lot of smoke and a few minutes later there was a firetruck driving back and forth for a few minutes.

The pool is always closed! What kind of pool is that? The gym doesn’t have much equipment, it’s small and always packed.
We had a mold incident in our bathroom and what did the managers do??? THEY PAINTED OVER IT. Of course more mold kept coming back. Our water gets cold after twenty minutes. Bugs always seem to be coming in.
When we moved in we found dog hair all over the carpets… The knob for the shower breaks all the time and it’s hard to use. Our sink broke within the first couple of months as well.
OH AND PARKING. There is NO parking. I have to park at a completely different complex because we aren’t allowed to park under the hooded areas. I seriously don’t appreciate having to walk ten minutes to get to my freaking car!!! What kind of apartment complex doesn’t have their own parking? If you ask anyone that lives here, they will tell you how much they hate the parking here.
Oh and they’re are always police here at night. Not sure why? Maybe because ITS NOT SAFE HERE? I do not recommend anyone to move here. ESPECIALLY if they have kids.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! I repeat. please save your time and money. My boyfriend and I currently live here. For the first 3 months everything was perfectly fine we thought all of the bad reviews were nonsense but NO. After the third month our washing and dryer broke (the dryer is still broken) it took maintenance 2 months to come in and fix!!? Also all of our window ledges broke! Talk about safety. Our pluming in the bathroom is horrible, leeks from the toilet, water pressure for shower low the list goes on.
WORST OF ALL our apartment got broken into!!! It’s only been 5 months! They took all of our valuables and it seemed like it was so easy to break in they just slid something through the lock and kicked the door open. This was at 1pm! And no one saw, like seriously?
Please take this advice and go somewhere else that’s worthy. We’re moving out asap.

The manager Ana is a joke I do not even know how she got a job here! The manager was not willing to meet with you to discuss issues with the apartment she was more concerned that it was the end of her shift and she had to go. They do not care about the residents and all of the office staff are very unprofessional! The crime in this area is very bad! Our car got broken into! They don’t repair broken lights outside of apartment complex. The pool is not secure so all of the surrounding apartment residents can come and go in the apartment pool. They charge you multiple charges to your apartment when you move out and make up lies about why they had to charge you. The manager Ana is rude so that says it all right there a dummy leading a staff of dummies. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

Worst management team ever. The biggest scam I’ve ever seen. They charge you late fees even if you pay on time and try to «reimburse» them by adding on another fee during the month. No thanks. Live in your car before you live here

speaking strictly as a resident, this is not worth the price. judging by my neighbor’s homes, all the apartments look different so you might be shown one that looks much better than the one you actually get. appliances from the 70s, my apartment was infested with fleas that never went away even though i paid out of pocket for many extermination AND carpet cleaning treatments specifically for fleas (the downstairs neighbors had fleas and would not do anything about it and management would not help mediate the situation). gross!!! lots of crime, i saw precisely where the drug deals were made near my apartment on a weekly basis. completely unsafe. i would speak about the management but there is nothing remotely good to say — so i’ll say nothing. don’t move here, take your money literally anywhere else. i’d avoid any complexes owned by this company. *edited to add* i read the filtered reviews, the 4 star review was clearly written by an employee and therefore filtered. nice try guys. :)

Where to begin? They want too much for rent. they say its the «going rate» but compared to what? All the apartments Ive been looking at have been the same price they want me to pay but have at least 50 more sq ft! We have lived here for 9 years and they want us to pay $ 870 for this 2 bedroom 1 bath (780 sq ft). There are currently 3 vacant apartments on my side of the building (with only 6 units total). The one below us has been available for 3 months now… they are renting it for $ 860 and it has been completely rennovated… so why on earth would I have to pay $ 10 more than some new people when they have all new stuff? Well Im not. I, personally, havent had a mold problem, but I dont doubt it. The ponds they show as «views» really look more like swamps, they never have the water running to keep it looking nice. There used to never be any parking… but now that everyone has been moving out that is no longer an issue. The definately dont like to answer the phone. They will accept your packages for you… but then they get lost and of coarse they are not responsible. When I first moved here in 2005 I reccommended it to many people… now I would tell anyone who asks me to not even waste their time looking.

if I could give this complex 0 stars that would be absolutely perfect. I would definitely recommend reading the filtered review on this Unilocal page; it is ON POINT! We’re finally moving out after 2 years here, resistant mold (with our 1 year old in the home) and no one EVER coming to do anything about it, even after the many promises to do so. They finally sent someone out, after putting in our 30 days notice, to discover there was a leak between the wall of the bathroom and the master bedroom closet that was causing A LOT of mold in our closet. That’s just one of the many areas in our apartment covered in mold. I would never in a million centuries recommend this complex to anyone.

DONT MOVE IN HERE! You will be sorry. I have lived here for three years and watched it decline in all aspects. Firstly, the price has gone up considerably (more than $ 250 for me) in two years– you dont get what you pay for. The managar (Ana) doesnt care about the residents or the condition of the grounds, parking lots, or units. The management’s sentiment is reflected by the staff, who have a high turnover, who rarely answer the phones during business hours, don’t return phone calls, can’t relay messages, and cant do what they say they are going to in general– they are also known for being rude, condescending, and incompetant. They dont respond to issues such as bug infestations, trash buildups, parking problems, floods (our parkinglot floods whenever it rains). There is a pool, but at this point it has been torn up for construction that will probably never end. The entire ‘community’ has been in the midst of replacing wood siding to the building for oh… about a year now. They pretty much have zero standards when it comes to pride of home, and there is a high crime rate here. These are the criminal activities I have witnessed during my time here: shootings, prostitution, drug dealing (daily), verbal and sexual harrassment, drug use, many domestic abuse cases, apartments fires, large brawls, multiple arrests, bounty hunter pursuals, and the list goes on and on. The only luck I have had here is the floor plans (one thing they cant screw up) and they nice mexican guy who walks around picking up trash. Other than that, they are just that– trash.
