MVP Moving

They were super accommodating to my schedule since I was moving from out of town. They were careful and fast movers. They called me as they were on our way and the schedules lined up perfectly. The movers them selfs were very nice people.

These guys are great! Are professional and nice personalities. Take good care of what they are moving! I had a very heavy couch to move out of a tight squeeze and into one! They did it perfectly without any damage! I highly recommend them! Thanks Guy’s!

Our daughter and her boyfriend had used MVP on a previous move, and when we sold our home and downsized to an apartment we called them for a quote. Erik was thorough and friendly, and his price was competitive. They moved us a week ago and everything went very smoothly. The 4 guys in the crew were fun and courteous and took good care of our things. Wardrobe boxes were provided, everything that needed protection was safely wrapped, and they worked efficiently. Moving can be trying and emotionally tough, and the last thing you need is movers who make matters worse. MVP kept us on-​schedule and there was no damage done in either the load-​up or the unload. Definitely worth considering next time you’re facing a move.

These guys showed up on time and carefully and efficiently moved my things for a very fair price. It was a well managed operation with one guy giving directions and loading the truck, and the other two wrapped furniture and brought it to him. I thought about moving a few valuable items on my own, but once I saw the care they took, I let them take everything. Very pleased.

This is part 1 of my review.
Eric and Jason of MVP were contracted by my apartment building to help move residents items into newly built storage cages. We had A LOT of stuff. I was particularly annoying as I wanted some things brought into my apartment, some items taken outside and some down to the storage cage. They had heaps of stuff to carry around, much of it heavy. They moved it quickly and carefully, stacked boxes like Tetris bosses in our apartment and did it all with smiles on their faces and a really awesome attitude.
Couldn’t have asked for more.
Part 2 of my review will be when I hire them to move additional items off site into a storage facility. They were so awesome I’ll definitely be using them again soon.

When you are territorial and protective of your things, you want movers with experience and knowledge in moving virtually any type of item, any amount, from/​to any location. If I’ve learned one thing about moving, it’s that you just can’t appreciate enough a crew like MVP. It’s stressful enough! These guys know what they’re talking about, and work tirelessly to make your move a snap on the day. I did not have the most straightforward moving situation, but they did everything they could within reason to earn my satisfaction, and that’s good enough for me! Additionally, it’s nice to work with people who are (here’s a shocker) nice to work with. Everyone I’ve spoken with throughout my experience has been pleasant and helpful through and through. On the phone the man estimated a 3 – 5 hour move. When the team got here, they moved slow and said it would take 7 hours, by the way I have a packed one bedroom apartment, that I know is only a 3 – 5 hour move. When i told them that was kind of high for my apartment they proceeded to act like I was a little girl who didn’t know what she was taking about. I have used movers a lot, I’ve moved every 6 – 8 months for the past 7 years, I know what I’m talking about. I told them to leave, and proceeded to get a nasty phone call from their office person. Needless to say I’m unimpressed and don’t recommend their services. Don’t hire them if you are a single girl alone.

I have moved many times in my life because of my job and it has always been a terrifying experience. Strange people in your house, many times I have thought to myself «I wonder if they have a rap sheet». However this was not even remotely the experience I had with Dave and his MVP crew.
First thing I noticed that the owner Jason was very quick to respond to my emails. Then we went over what needed to be done and he gave me a quote. Everything went great. The move day came and Jason called me and inform us that they could be early. I said of course and he thanked me for my flexibility. He thanked me for them showing up early, when does that happen in customer service today?
The guys arrived, very professional young men and Dave; the lead, quoted me what he thought the job was going to be based on the amount of stuff my mom had. He also told me that their larger truck was unavailable and would not charge me if they had to make two trips, which they did. Anyhow the guys were quick, professional, very cautious not to break anything and kind to my mom who hates moving and was a little stressed. They treated her if she was their mom. Outstanding. Anyhow job was done 30 minutes quicker than he quoted and everything was moved perfectly.
Bottom-line…I was completely satisfied with these guys and if we every move to a new house I will definitely call MVP. There is no reason to look anywhere else if you want something moved.

We’ve moved many times over the past 16 years and I’ve tried many different movers. As we are still relatively new to the Seattle area, I was leery of picking just any mover. MVP just happened to have put in a card at my apartment complex office and after finding out from the complex mgr that the guy was professional, etc., I gave them a call.
I’m so glad I did. This company will be handling ALL of our moves in this area (though since we just moved last Friday I don’t intend to move for a while. lol). The first phone calls to their office were met with professionalism, common courtesy and lots of good information. Plus they threw in a good deal with their $ 50.00 off coupon.
We booked 3 men and 1 truck for our move. Not only did I get a call the night before to confirm everything, but the movers called me 1^st thing the next morning to let me know they were on the way. They arrived, and went to work. The crew we had was Josh, Chris and Edgar. They were AWESOME. Worked hard, no bickering among themselves (like you run into with movers sometimes), and they were really, super nice guys. Our stuff was loaded quickly and efficiently and moved to the new location fast. The new place has stairs… lots of stairs in the house… Not once was there a complaint. Even when a box wasn’t labeled and it came upstairs only for me to say, «Um, that goes downstairs.» No bad attitudes, no sullen behavior, only smiles, politeness and professionalism.
What I truly appreciate about MVP is that they don’t hire day laborers — they make sure their movers are vetted to be safe, knowledgeable and professional. The entire experience was fantastic and I will be recommending them to EVERYONE I know.

I used MVP to move a washer and dryer into my home and remove the old ones. They did a great job, quick professional and reasonably priced and best of all they showed up on time!

I was very satisfied with the experience I had with this moving company. I moved from Shoreline to Queen Anne and they were fast, took care of all my belongings and did an outstanding job. Even put together my bed for me when they delivered it. Went above and beyond. I usually move on my own and always hate it… I will ALWAYS use these guys and refer them to anyone I know that is moving going forward. Definitely worth it!

I was referred by a friend who said that these guys are the best– and they were so quick, caring, and efficient! In the past I have asked family members for help moving and then spend several days on my move using my dads truck. With MVP moving I was in my new home in less then 4 hours– I will never bug my family got help again!
The MVP guys (request Dave and Felipe-​they are the best!) were very personable and had me at ease! They put every box in the right room so that when unpacking I didn’t have to do much box shuffling. Dave and Felipe even moved my bedroom furniture several times for me since my room is small and was hard to fit everything. After my ideas were too cramped, Felipe offered one more and it fit perfectly. My bedroom now looks very spacious! I also have to thank these guys for going up 3 flights of stairs to my new apartment!
My boyfriend and I are moving in together on this move. After getting all of my things from my old apartment, MVP was even able to stop by my boyfriend’s storage unit and load his things as well. My boyfriend came home from work to our new apartment in awe that I (MVP Movers!) had gotten everything done and most things put away already! Will use MVP from now on!

Finally I got time to write review for MVP Moving for my move on 1÷25÷2015!
We usually use Chinese Moving Company for our moving, but for this time, it was a very last minute preparation, the Chinese Moving Company was full booked on the day we want! So I use a website to connect us to some moving companies. There were total 6 moving companies contacted me and MVP was the very FIRST one get contacted with me. I talked to Aaron Sumii for my moving needs and he gave me a quote which I think it is alright since it is more expensive than the Chinese Moving Company. After that, I did some research. When I first saw MVP’s review on Unilocal,I kinda worried if they are good company. At the end, I chose them based on KING5 Best of Western Washington rating.

They ranked #6 out of 78 and based on they were the first one to call me out of the other 5 moving companies, so we decided to give them a try. They do required for $ 50 deposit over the phone (This was one of my concern before I choose them)
We requested 3 people crew for our one bedroom apartment (Actually we have more stuff then a normal one bedroom apartment.) We had around 25+ boxes and many furniture moving from Bellevue to Renton.
On the moving day, they arrived around 9:50 something with only 2 person since 1 person have family emergency and the truck they were driving was smaller than we expected. We were worried if everything can fit in the truck and if they will take longer time and over our budget.
The Lead-​Josh spent around 15 minutes to estimate everything and do the paper works. The clock won’t start until you signed all the paperwork. Because they only had 2 persons (Josh & Duke), it required longer time (5 hours), so the estimate price was higher than what we expected (around $ 400). However, Josh mentioned they may have an extra help on unloading if they feel this is too much for two people when loading the stuff.
As we expected, they really needed 3 people to do the job since they spend 3 hours to load our stuff. However, they unloaded so fast and spent less than an hour with 1 additional helper (Chris). They put moving pads on our carpet, so they won’t make our new home carpet dirty. Also, they packed our TV very safely with multilayer of moving pad. They took more care on our stuff, furniture than the moving company we used last time (Which they dropped one of my plastic box from 2^nd floor to 1^st floor, in result of some damages on the box.) If not because of Josh did a great job on leading the team and take care of our stuff carefully, I will not give MVP for 5 stars. review.
If you want fast mover, this may not be the ideal one, but if you want someone who really take good care about yours stuff, this will be the good one. Thank you Aaron Sumii, Josh, Duke & Chris !!

I’ve hired professional movers before three times in the past and unfortunately MVP fell very short of my expectations. I give businesses second chances to redeem themselves after making mistakes, but MVP made the same mistakes multiple times, had very poor communication, and to be completely honest didn’t seem to know how professional moving services work. In person and over the phone, the guys seem nice and likeable – but their business operates at an amateur level in that they didn’t fulfill 90% of what professional movers do such as:
1) Being reliable. They were extremely late and never once called to give ETAs. I called 3 – 4 times to see where they were every 1.5−2 hours over the course of the day to only get excuses or false statements like «they’re on their way», «they’re stopping for a drink first» (?), «their first job was bigger than expected»… so we wasted an entire day waiting around and it got so late we almost canceled and went with different movers but decided to give them a second chance and reschedule it with them for the next day after they offered to discount the rate and promised they’d show up. I understand that being late happens, but the fact that they never communicated that they were running late even after they apologized the first time– and promised they would communicate moving forward but never did – bothered me because it wasn’t genuine nor considerate of my time. The next day they didn’t show up late – they showed up super early instead (5 hours early)…
2) Safely and efficiently move furniture. The move was for a small 1 bedroom apartment with 2 pieces of large furniture and 3 small-​medium furniture and a few prepackaged boxes (to be transported to the new location which was 7 minutes away). In the past (and always for a 1 bedroom apartment) my movers have disassembled my too-​large furniture, saran wrapped couches and dressers and threw it on blankets in their truck; and loaded, lifted and dollied boxes out to their truck – all in less than or equal to 2 hours and sometimes down elevators, stairs of high rise buildings, and in 100 degree+ weather (always with 2 guys). I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently they worked! With MVP, the movers worked very slowly, were showing each other things on their cell phones, didn’t wrap or use blankets to protect furniture, didn’t believe in disassembling furniture, put a quarter sized hole in the wall, dragged the sofa against the metal diamond plated surface of their truck when pulling it out (instead of lifting it to avoid damaging the fabric. Remember, they didn’t wrap it), and went 20 minutes over the 2 hour quote (but didn’t charge me for it. Thanks? That shouldn’t have taken over 2 hours though…).
3) Provide a paper/​email receipt. I never got tangible documentation that I paid for a service or a service was even performed.
So all in all, the experience was nothing like my experiences with movers in the past. If I had just needed some friendly extra hands to help me move, I would have just asked my friends to help. I was expecting professional moving services but instead got a couple of nice guys that are young and still need to figure it out.

We’ve used MVP Moving on a few different occasions and have always been really pleased with the service. The movers are very professional, the bid has always been spot on and the jobs have all been done on time. One of my big annoyances with some moving companies is that they end up being late the day of the move.
I definitley recommend MVP Movers to many of my clients and have never heard anything negative.

They were very business friendly. They were fast and efficient. And protected all of my furniture and house stuff. They even set up all the appliances and made sure they worked before they left, and put boxes in every room that I needed them to go. If I move again I would use them and refer them to my friends and family.

Worst moving experience ever. I’m just moving out of my 2-​bedroom apartment, and I have everything packed in boxes except big furnitures. Two guys came in.
1. They moved the boxes by hand, almost one by one, and used the elevator every trip. I asked if they have trolleys, they said yes but doesn’t seem to want to use it. Took forever.
2. They also refused to disassemble the dining table, but it wouldn’t go through the door and I had to disassemble myself.
3. They disassembled 2 sides of the bed frame, and moved the other 2 sides attached in an L shape. Which of course bent the hardware. And they lost the screws.
4. One of them was new, and was just hanging around half of the time. I did more work myself than he did. The other guy was working alright but also just walked slowly all the time.
In the end they decided to give me $ 50 discount and cut 1 hour work time, but messed up the calculation. I had to contact them again and they agreed to send a refund check, which makes me put 1 star back. To be fair, the office and staff are ok, but the movers were terrible.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience than the one I had with MVP Moving. They are the best movers in the Seattle area — and so are their prices! Showed up on time, moved every thing quickly and with care. Everyone involved in the process genuinely cared about their job. Would absolutely use them again.

So, I did bid my move out to several companies. And MVP came in at the highest price point, but Aaron (1 of 3 owners) seemed like a honest and stand-​up guy. Some background before I get into details — my move was for a 2800 sq. ft. home to a 2600 sq. ft. home — so fairly large. I had everything from donation items to a large & very heavy marble table. It definitely needed two 26 ft trucks — which Aaron got right versus other movers. So they get an «A» for knowledge, but what they get a «C» on is the quoting process. He proceeds to write notes down on a spiral notebook and then let’s me know the quote of 1500 $. I ask him twice, is that the high side/​conservative. He says «yes, shouldn’t be an issue with 6 guys and two trucks». And my wife heard that also. My mistake wasn’t asking him to e-​mail me a quote. DON’T DO THAT! I know, boneheaded but I was caught up in details and distracted with selling and buying a home but no excuse, hence only 1 star off. This will be important later.
So the day of the move occurs, 4 guys show up with ONE truck. David, who is the «lead» and the other 3 show up on time (8:30am) and ready to go (Kudos to them). They are very nice and professional. They start laying down carpets/​rugs/​cardboard to keep the floors as clean as possible. David proceeds to go over the quote and let’s me know it will be 1760 $ with a 25% variance. So it could go as high as ~2200 — I was shocked, but David handled it well and called Aaron and we went through it on the phone. We agreed to 1300 $ with a 25% variance ~1600 $; so I thought my quoting troubles were over. Aaron even comes onsite and decides to pitch in, which was a nice touch.
The move progresses and we start boxing, let me tell you when it comes to Execution phase and the physical work. These guys are fast! Before you know it the house is 50% empty in 2 hours (and there was A LOT of boxes and furniture). I ask Aaron if he can make a donation run, and he states no problem. I ask if there is a fee and he says «no — we can do it, we’ll drive back on 3^rd trip with a much smaller crew». With several of his staff in ear-​listening distance. That will come back to haunt me, there was also the problem, we loaded up the single truck and were stuck at around 70% completion. But Aaron and his team explains the situation and we decide on a compromise, we unload the truck at the new house and return. And I won’t be charged transit time and trip fee. I say «that sounds fair». But it does cut into the day quite a bit. So plan on +8 hours if one truck shows up versus two. He also relieves himself from further moving. So a 4 man team to assure he can meet the price target. Doesn’t seem to be an issue with about 30% remaining.
Second truck load starts, and we are moving quickly but I have a bunch of donation items, so we load those first. Thumbs up on being smart and planning to David and his crew. Everything ends at around 6:00PM physically. Now comes the quote, so I am expecting around 1600 $, I see a quote for 1790 $. Immediately, David states that Aaron wanted to charge me for a donation run (full hour) but he even heard that it was suppose to be free, so he felt bad and cut it in half. Problem was that I brought 1650 $ cash. So I wanted to write a check and tip David and his crew in cash. But I again get on the phone with Aaron, and he seemed fine with that. I didn’t even want to argue about the donation run after 10 hours of moving. I write the check and give David and the four movers each 50 $, so total was 1990 $. A bit over-​budget, but all the items came over without damage to them. I just wished I wasn’t knickel and dimed on the donation run and also penalized for something the industry does, which is provide an official moving quote prior to the scheduled date. Overall, it went quite well. The moving team is A+; hence the 4 stars; otherwise it would be 3.
