Holiday Kennels

I took my puppy to Holiday Kennels for her first groom!
As with most pet owners, I was tentative to schedule her anywhere– I wanted her to be in good hands! And I think I found those good hands at Holiday Kennels.
The facility is clean and organized. I had my grooming contract and vaccinations faxed in, and both documents were received and in their system upon my arrival. I only had to drop her off! Not having paperwork was really nice at 7:00 a.m.
I got to tour the facility and see where the dogs were kept when boarded. I was relieved to see the concrete floors. It’s so much easier to keep concrete clean than turf. And with bedding, I imagine it could be cozy. I know how some reviewers didn’t like seeing the chain link fence, dividing the walkways and the stalls, but it allows people to see exactly what’s going on with the dog, instead of them being hidden away. I would be comfortable leaving Sunny there.
My Sunny is a Scottish Terrier, and they are notorious for being willful and stubborn with groomers, which is why I wanted her to be exposed to grooming early. The groomer, Chimene Brown, agreed. She was so affable! Chimene was super knowledgeable, and answered my questions while keeping my expectations realistic. I really appreciated that, because her transparency put me at ease. And she did do a special service for me, hand stripping. Hand stripping is a tedious job. When the groom was finished, I got a voicemail telling me that my puppy was ready to be picked up when I was ready. It was really nice knowing that I didn’t have to rush over from work!
Upon my arrival, my puppy looked fantastic and happy! Scotties are very sensitive dogs, and I truly feel that she would indicate to me if anything was amiss.
Even the woman working the front desk, I missed her name, was warm and inviting. She even rushed to the parking lot to return something I forgot!
I greatly look forward to returning to Holiday Kennels. I think I found a hidden gem!

My girlfriend and I have a 2 year old Pitbull/​Mastiff we’ve been bringing here since he was about 10 months old.
We started bringing our dog Koa, to get him socialized around other dogs, but eventually grew into overnights. Both experiences have been great, and the staff is always super friendly.
Theres been a few times that Koa’s gotten too excited and they’ve been wonderful about not making us feel awkward:
— Early on, jumping up and furiously licking faces
— Early on, humping everything before we got Koa neutered
— The one time he got so excited to see us, he peed on one of the workers legs. I definitely tipped extra, although she laughed it off and said not to worry.
— All the times he peed on their floor waiting in excitement to see other dogs.
When we saw the floors for the kennels were cement, we felt a little bad about leaving Koa overnight. But after having a tour and being explained the floors are heated, we were cool with it. The kennels are also connected to an outdoor run for the dogs to exercise.
We recently had Koa stay overnight with the bathing/​grooming package. He smelled great after and it was nice having someone else do the release. If you know what I mean.
Its also really cool that they’ve started giving «Dog Reports» when you come by for pickup.

I take my Dog Samson here when I have to go out of town for long periods of time. Typically he is there for 7+ Days and I have nothing but great things to say about Holiday Kennels and their staff. Samson is always tired when I pick him up so I know he has had plenty of play time/​walks. The Staff is always friendly & courteous and the facility is always clean. I have used other national chains and I always prefer taking Samson to a family owned facility where I know he is in good hands.

My German Shepherd is 7 months old, and a handful. He always has lots of energy so I needed to find some way to get him some exercise when I’m at work. I found Holiday Kennels and was stoked!
When I dropped Milo off he was super sad, so I just had to leave — they told me it’d be easier that way anyways. Being very nervous since this was his first time, I called around 11 and asked how Milo was doing. I was told that he was doing just fine!
I went and picked Milo up at 3:30, excited to hear how he did.
«Well, he did great for the first two hours and then we had to pull him… For humping.» Okay… When he does that at the dog park and you tell him to stop, he does. So I didn’t understand. I dropped him off at 7 that morning, which means he was pulled at 9. I called at 11 and was told he was just fine, so the fact that I wasn’t told that he was pulled from the group and put away, alone, pissed me off.
Jamaica informed me that what the team that was with him considered bad, she might not consider bad, because the team that day was «no fun, no nonsense.» Call me crazy but I think that they should probably have a standard for what is accepted… Or maybe just don’t use that phrase when explaining something to a customer even if you’re just saying it to side with them.
Long story short, Milo can’t come back until he’s fixed. «We’re not anti-​breeding, but we’re pro-​no humping» is what one of the employees told me.
We got home and Milo peed forever so it worries me and makes me think they didn’t take him out in a timely manner — the only time he pees that hard or that much is when he wakes up in the morning after not being out for 8 hours.
The daycare center is very small, but Jamaica (really nice girl) told me that they are moving to a bigger facility in January to meet their demand, so that’s nice.
I’m not sure Milo will be able to come back, because I do plan on breeding him — and yes, I know what kind of behavioral things can arise when they are kept intact, so I didn’t need the lecture.
Long story short if your dog is going to act like a regular dog and try and hump other dogs, don’t come here because you won’t be able to return.

This kennel is wonderful! When I boarded Cali elsewhere she came home sick and very distraught. When I take here to Holiday Kennels, she comes home happy, but tired, and it is clear she really enjoyed her stay! Keep up the good work. You guys are GREAT!

I ALWAYS appreciate when a company reaches out to me after a complaint! I received a letter in the mail from holiday kennel explaining that they accidentally mistook my husbands dollar sign as a $ 10.00 sign. They also sent me a 10.00 check to right their wrong and were able to find my dogs cone! I will most likely try them out again because they really do provide great grooming service and they’re so close to home for me!

Horrible. This might be an okay place to leave an un-​friendly dog but it’s just awful for a dog that loves everyone and every other dog. I strongly recommend looking at it BEFORE you make a reservation. Sure, it’s clean, but it’s just a cement and chain-​link prison. Your dog gets a tiny, cold, hard cell and no playtime unless you pay an extra $ 10 for 30 minutes. If your dog is well-​trained, he/​she will not want to soil his/​her cell and thus not be able to except for walks that you pay extra for.
And I’m sure that my dog did not get all the walks I paid for. I paid for 3 walks a day. When I picked her up at 2 pm on a Sunday, they said she had been taken for the 3 walks that day. I KNOW that was a lie. She was dying to leave because her bladder and colon were so full. She absolutely had not had a chance to pee that day because when I took her out she peed a bucket full and instantly pooped the entire contents of her intestinal tract. She normally needs to sniff around for a while to find the right spot. Her desperation to go immediately was a clear sign that she was not taken on the walks I paid for.
She also didn’t get the nail trim that I paid for or the expressing of the anal glands I paid for.
I am highly suspicious of the glowing reviews here.
My experience was awful. My poor, poor doggie. I feel terrible for leaving her with these negligent jerks.

Updating my review after successfully boarding my newly adopted doggy with Holiday Kennels! My pooch was deservedly spoiled and had a great time! Since I had only rescued him a couple of months ago, I was nervous about him thinking he was abandoned. But, I feel comfortable that he was treated with love and respect.
In addition to boarding, they have options available to enhance your pet’s stay and I chose a daily walk and doggy daycare time plus tooth brushing for a nominal fee. They offered to break up the doggy daycare block over the days he was boarded rather than the single six-​hour time listed on their menu of services. He definitely enjoyed his stay but I’m glad he was glad to see me!

We have a skiddish Aussie who is nervous around new people and places. So he pooped himself shortly before we were to pick him up. He has a very thick coat and they tried to clean him. Since he was nervous he probably was a difficult customer to clean quickly, I complained that he smelled and next time they are giving him a full grooming treatment for free. Sometimes messy situations don’t result in the best outcomes. But they worked to resolve my complaint by offering a free grooming next time. That is very respectable.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place.
The facility is very clean and well maintained. The front area is very pleasant and welcoming. The staff is usually always marvelous and absolutely always willing to let you tour the facility. They also offer very competitive prices and have many different services that they offer.
Their groomer, Jamie, is absolutely AMAZING! And I refuse to go to anyone else for my Pomeranian’s summer lion cut.

I really like Holiday Kennels. We have been patronizing them since we adopted Griffey, our black lab puppy, back in October 2012. He is 70 lbs of excitement so I didn’t even try to groom him myself.
The people at Holiday are always friendly and happy to see Griff. He has had many nail trims and two baths so far and has done well every time. He loves holding hands in general so the nail trims probably don’t require much coaxing. I have heard he is a bit wild in the bath but that’s why I pay them to do it!
The grooming prices are quite reasonable, and though we haven’t had use for the boarding facilities yet, I do know the prices are crazy-​good and we will definitely look to Holiday if we decide to venture somewhere that Griffey cannot.
The facility itself seems to be newly renovated and sits right on the Green River trail. This allows for a nice walk after grooming! There is plenty of parking off of quiet Russell Road. I have never had to wait more than a day (except of my own volition) for an appointment, which is super handy. Plus Griff always gets a pretty bow on his collar after a bath!

This was my first time having the dogs in a kennel. I was very nervous. I selected Holiday Kennels b/​c of the good Unilocal reviews
The customer service was excellent. I had a lot of questions and I got full answers.
I asked to see the kennel that they would be living in. I was concerned b/​c the inside portion wasn’t divided by anything. I had expected to see an inside half divided by a doggy door to the outside portion. I was reassured that the floor was heated and they would be fine.
I was impressed that they washed my dogs’ beds before I picked the dogs up.
Overall, I am impressed.

We love Holiday Kennels !!! Especially my Veer and Silver. They have been going there since they were 3 month old pups. Rachel and the team are absolutely fabulous. My dogs go to their day-​care once a week and when we are out of town, so far we never had any problems, issues or incidents EVER. Its a wonderful place to take your dogs.

I’d recommend Holiday Kennels without hesitation and have already referred a few friends there.

I used to bring my dog here on a regular basis for the daycare service and intermittently leave him for long weekends when I would visit relatives out of town. I began to notice that every time I left my dog at this facility that there were new employees that I had never seen before. In the back of my mind I wondered why there would be such a high turnaround rate at such an establishment.
It concerned me because I was never really sure what kind of people were looking after my animal. Most of them looked to be in their late teens or early twenties.
I witnessed one handler walking a dog out of the back so far ahead of her that she had no control over it and it attacked a dog that had just been dropped off in the lobby. In my opinion these girls displayed no proof of training or understanding of pack mentality and/​or understanding of dog behavior and they proved this by not taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the animals in their care.
I will not be returning to this location, and I suggest, for the safety of your pet, to board with highly trained professionals.

My kitty, Cukoo, recently had the privilege of staying here while my boyfriend & I were vacationing in CA. It was Cukoo’s first stay in a kennel in his 9 years of life and I couldn’t possibly be prepared for what an awesome experience for everyone involved! Stephanie there instantly put me (& Cukoo) at ease upon arrival, clean, inviting facilities, extremely friendly staff and very reasonable fees on top of everything else! Twice while away, Stephanie ‘picture texted’ updates and ‘greetings’ from Cukoo! So adorable and looks like he also made an impression on them! Very, very much recommend Holiday Kennels to anyone in need of kennel services in the Seattle area! Thank you so much, HK! =)

Our first trip here our dog was so upset we were leaving (saw the suit cases) that he chewed his de-​claw till it was bleeding right as we were walking out the door. We had to catch our flight and get him dropped off. I got the bleeding to stop before we got there. Explained to them the situation and they were so kind. Took him back, someone looked at it, and kept a close eye on him, called us later and told us he was doing fine! It was relaxing knowing he was in good hands! Best people, sweet and caring! This is the only place I trust enough to watch my baby! Pricing is great and affordable! They care about your pets! Our 1 golden has gone here now 3 times! Wonderful place!
They offer grooming as well!

The staff and owners are very nice here. I don’t bring my cat here any more unless I’m in a pinch. The reason is that they charge by the day so an overnight stay is charged as if it was 2 nights and it doesn’t matter what time you pick up your kitty. After arguing with the kennel staff they finally reduced the charge to just one night charge.
I noticed that they did this on a previous trip but since my cat was there for almost a month I didn’t catch it right away.
The kennel was recently remodeled in the past 2 – 3 years and it’s very nice. My cat has always been happy coming here and he loves having a window to look out of during his stay.
The location is close to the airport so it’s very convenient if you’re flying to drop on your way to or from there.
