Went to this establishment today after reading mostly positive reviews. I found the staff to be very friendly even though they opened 15 minutes late, the chicken was just okay, the rolls were not very good, the mashed potatoes were extremely watery and pretty nasty tasting, the gravy was pretty bland and the slaw quite bitter, glad I tried it but probably won’t return

The service is very hit and miss, mostly miss. The gravy looks and taste like dirty greasy water. The mashed potato’s imitation taste awful. Chicken and rolls are the only thing worth eating. The chicken not always. The Seattle location was always good, very disappointed that this is close to work but awful.

Tasted different from KFC, but it’s really just fried chicken. Nothing super special that’s good about it. My experience has always been pretty bad, but I’m prepared to chalk that up to timing; I always seem to stop by half an hour before closing. Everything ends up dry, the mashed potatoes gritty and flavorless(or else out of stock, because that’s a thing that’s OK for a restaurant to do on a regular basis), the place tired and sweaty. I bet if you walked in at 11AM you’d get some damn fine chicken but I’ll let you know when that happens for me. That said, the inevitable comparison to KFC must be tempered not by the nostalgic or idealized KFC, but the degraded KFC of today whose halls are stalked by an ashamed apparition of the Colonel. Again, definitely not lower quality than KFC.

How on earth can this place deserves 3 star? Seriously!!? This place got worst and worst each day. Went here order 1lb chicken tender combo and fried orka. What can I say? Ripped off!!! A large orka look like small, chicken and bun over cooked and burn. That’s not what I expected!!! Even KFC can do even better than you. I’m not gonna come back here ever again!!!

I come here for the spicy gizzards. Theirs are much more tender than heaven sent. I just love gizzards that’s all.

Great chicken. Service leave a lot to be desired, but once you bite into the chicken, you’ll Forney about the service. Lol Great fresh tasting chicken.

This chicken was average, nothing special, but heavily over priced because of the hype. I’ve had 3 piece chicken dinner at diners that were freshly fried, better tasting and cost the same price as Ezell’s 2 piece special. They charge for sauce, even hot sauce. who charges for hot sauce? Not exactly what I expected after spending $ 10 on a two piece meal. I will not be coming back, I’d much rather get chicken at Fred Meyers or Albertsons.

Place is dirty, staff is cool and a little ghetto but that’s not really the issue. I go in 30 mins before the place closes and they tell me that we are out of chicken. No sign saying so just a staff probably unwilling to make food because it was close to closing. It’s OK I know that there are better chicken places that serve there customers. I will definitely not be back to this one. Would much rather make a drive to the renton one and I live across the street from the Kent one. Smh lost a customer for life KENTEZELLS

Cant go wrong with Ezells. Friendly service. They were training a new employee when i went in. The chicken is fresh. The Prices cant be beat. Love the rolls. And the Peach Cobbler. The interior is clean. Seating is somewhat limited. Ezells beats out KFC and everyone else.

If you’re in a hurry, be patient. It’s worth the wait, Ezell’s chicken is the best in the nw! The people who were blasting this on Unilocal all said it tasted good but took too long, or whatever. I’ve been to a lot of great places that take a little longer to get served or food fast. This may be one of those places, especially when busy. We got treated very well, the chicken is amazing, as are the sides and this yummy peach cobbler I will write home about. 5 stars all the way, and I’m super happy theres one closer to us now! Thanks Julie for turning me onto good, old school fried chicken. Last time I had the gizzards, this time I went half n half spicy and regular chicken. Real mashed potatoes and fresh corn. Love you Ezell, and you looked great on your roller skates in this weekends Torchlight parade!

This restaurant has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced waited 40 mins for an order to go, thought maybe they were having a bad day so I gave it a second chance and I still waited 25 min the 2nd time. The workers have no idea how to run a productive kitchen, it really is a shame because I love the chicken but I’d rather drive an extra 15 min to the Fairwood location to get top notch service vs go to this location to be told«I’m sorry your waiting 40 min but I’ve been here all day and you can try and make this chicken yourself but you don’t have the secret recipe do you?»

Where to start? Food is descent. Chicken is really good and fries are okay but oily. Would I recommend this to someone? Sure but just not this location. The workers lack professionalism. They are loud, and have no sense of urgency. We were the only customers in the restaurant and we obviously we’re waiting on our meal. They took their sweet time putting our meals together while talking to others. Customer service is disappointing especially since this place does have potential to be even more successful. Whoever is the restaurant manager/owner, you need to consider a different way of training your workers. Really sets the mood off.

I finally decided to try this place out based on a friend’s recommendation. First — the chicken is much better than Popeye’s or KFC’s Second — It’s WAY more expensive than Popeye’s or KFC’s Third — Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles are MUCHMUCH better Fourth — The bread is good Fifth — Service, It is TERRIBLE. Do not expect any customer service here. Don’t expect expedient service here. Let’s just say — when it comes to service — Just don’t make the same mistake I did — Southern Fried Chicken — without the southern hospitality. This business could be MUCH better and has the potential to be… but the employees do not make it seem that way. Yes — it’s worth a try… would I go back… maybe if everything else is closed.

I was complaining the other day about how I wanted good fried chicken, but was too lazy to make my own and too snobby to go to KFC. When my sister stopped laughing, she sent me here. Oh, it’s so good! Take the Unilocal!advice and get the«spicy» coating– I’m a spice wuss and I find it super tasty. The downsides(if you will) are that there’s not much seating and the sides are pretty much on the fried /*very well done* side of the spectrum. I wouldn’t take a vegetarian friend here. On the other hand, if you’re not here for chicken, why are you here?!

Can’t go wrong here at Ezell’s. Delicious, hot, fresh made fried Chicken. Mouth watering. Yumm! We ordered the 1 lb chicken tender combo. It is perfect for 2 people. We got ½ original ½ spicy with side of Coleslaw and fries, 2 rolls and dipping sauce. I love Ezell’s BBQ… it’s perfect. Their coleslaw is delicious… everything was great. The gentleman who helped us was very handsome and friendly. It wasn’t busy when we got there… but by the time we finished it was packed. If you are craving yummy fresh fried chicken, this is where it’s at in Kent… there are many locations in the area.

I remember laughing at the Heaven Sent Chicken commercials and thinking how ridiculous that sounds to call your chicken that. And then– I tried ezells. Yeah, it’s not the same, but supposedly the same recipe. I’ll eventually get to Heaven Sent, but for now… I don’t know how KFC stays in business. Sure, that’s the McD’s of chicken, but Ezell’s is the real deal. Collards, fried okra. It makes the southerner in me so happy every tone I’m here, and I’m sure it would completely piss off my cardiologist, if I had one. My only complaint is that I wish the fries had a little more seasoning to them, but that’s what salt is for. Or more dipping sauce.

Love their chicken, but they need to do better with their customer service. First time going there, my friends & I decide to dine in. From the time we ordered to the time we finished eating, the workers were arguing with each other about taking breaks & going home early… it was highly inappropriate. My next trip there, my husband called in 40 minutes early to order a 16 piece chicken. We got there to find that the woman who took our order over the phone«forgot to put in the order» and proceeds to tell my husband that he has to wait 30 more minutes! No apologies or anything. We love their food and completely support local businesses but they need to make improvements on their customer service & be a lot more professional.

we did take out from here, and admittedly it was a big order. however, it took forever to fill. we ordered a number of sides. enough for a dozen and all we got was a couple of small dixie cup sized containers. needless to say, it didn’t quite cover it. since we were already late, we wrote it off and didn’t try and go back. i do like the chicken, but because there wasn’t enough of the sides, i didn’t get a taste of anything else.
