Bill’s Locksmith Service

Had a key stuck in the ignition of my old Stealth. Looking for a quick fix I called one of the mobile locksmiths to fix the issue. A young man came in an unmarked car and worked on it for an hour before giving up. I paid him his service fee and he left. I decided for a brick and mortar locksmith and I contacted Bill’s. I spoke to Bob and told him my issue and one of the first things he mentioned was my automatic transmission ignition lock mechanism. Like a pompous ass I said it was fine and was certain it was the lock. The next day I went out to the car, found the lockout cam, moved it a little and the key came out. I will never call another «mobile» locksmith as they seem to be minions who talk to their bosses on the phone to troubleshoot the issues. I don’t need minions, I needed a real locksmith with experience. Bob at Bill’s is the ticket. And the advice didn’t cost me a cent.

I have been a lifetime customer at Bill’s. However, due to a recent experience, I will NEVER go there again. Last week I went in to get a new key for my truck. The individual who was working offered to make us a factory spec key for the truck, and assured me that if it did not work, that we could come back and have it re-​done. Well, I went home, tried the key, and it did not even turn in the ignition. I went back to Bill’s, and they refused to re-​cut the key or refund us. So, I wasted two trips to Bill’s and they refuse to stand behind their work. No wonder people are going to big box stores nowadays. I will NEVER go to Bill’s again. Shame on you, and your HORRIBLE employees.

After losing my car keys, I called Bill’s Locksmith Service. They estimated their arrival at 11am, and they showed up at 10. They said it would take a while, and it took 10 minutes. These guys are polite and efficient. Extremely happy with the service, and now I finally have a spare key for my car!

No too impressed with this place. Went to get 2 sets of key copies made. $ 5 per key for one of the keys. Paid about $ 20 for 4 keys. Two of the 4 do not work. The 2 that do not work are mailbox keys. He said he was not sure if they would work and said they keys were made in China! Called to get a refund over the phone for the 2 non-​working mailbox keys. They refused and said I needed to bring the keys in. Not sure what they are going to do with them? Wasted $ 10, not going back. Feel silly for not reading the other Unilocal reviews! Will be smarter next time!

Went up to the counter and asked the guy behind the counter if Bill’s Locksmith could program a key fob to my car. The guy took one look at it put it back down on the counter and said «nope». I asked why (thinking I had the wrong key fob). His response was that they won’t program anything purchased anywhere else but their shop. Really? So because I didn’t buy a key fob from you then that means I can’t pay you to program it? Seems pretty petty to me…
So, I went down to Sunset Chevrolet and not only did they say they could do it no problem but when they were done they insisted on not charging me anything.

Bill’s was able to get me set up same day for service, but had forgotten about my appointment until I called them to remind them. A little disappointing since I made the appointment a couple hours earlier. When the guy got to my house he wanted to take my keys but I explained I just wanted the one replaced. They were quick and got the job done.

Had to have a key made for the Devilmobile (since both were stolen in a home invasion robbery…) it was to expensive to change out all the locks so just got the key code from the dealership (after a lot of hassle). Didn’t get the key like I had (with remote door openers — they wanted way to much…). Did get 2 ignition/​door keys and I felt I was overcharged — not impressed with their service. Next time (hopefully, there isn’t one) I would shop around.

I’ve gone to Bill’s several times over the past few years for various needs: copying various odd keys, getting some prankster’s obstruction pulled out of my car’s door lock, getting new keys for an old key-​less ski rack. Their work always has been professional and guaranteed.
I moved from Maple Valley to Renton; still drive down here to get keys. Apparently brick and mortar locksmiths are a dying breed; I’d rather do business with someone who can’t hide in their van.
After reading all the 5 star comments I did laugh at the single one-​star comment (2010), complaining that a «key didn’t work after 90 days». Keys don’t quit working unless you sit on them or otherwise bend them. If you abuse your keys don’t expect them to keep working…

After an attempted break-​in of our residence we called Bill’s Locksmith (upon recommendation) and we were not disappointed. A discussion with Cyndi on the phone giving us a range of pricing for different security options was welcomed. She gave detailed, helpful information with no pressure. A same day appointment was made and Bob arrived on time as scheduled. He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and did a great job. A minor issue arose the next day (on a Saturday) and we even though they were closed, we contacted their offices. After discussion with Mike (who was on call), he came out and corrected the issue promptly. Bill’s truly stands behind their products and services. Would highly recommend this business to anyone. Hopefully I’ll never have need for their services again… but if I do, I would not hesitate to call Bill’s.

I found Bill’s locksmith service on Unilocal after looking on Unilocal as I need a deadbolt installed. They arrived promptly and unfortunately had the wrong finish. They promptly order the correct one and called to schedule an appointment the next day. The installer was professional, cleaned up debris and did a fantastic job. They re-​keyed the dead bolt to match the rest of the locks on site. Great job. Highly recommend them.

He didn’t give a quote, but their pricing was fair. I have had a lot of bad locksmiths, but these guys were good. They were patient and willing to explain the problem too.

After I was scammed by another «local» locksmith a few years ago, I am sooo glad I found Bill’s Locksmith Service in Kent. It’s the guys who have a long-​time establishment with a brick and mortar store you can trust… like Bill’s.
Needed a rekey for front and garage doors. I emailed them and got a quote in no time at all. Then called to set up an appointment, and they sent out a courteous, knowledgeable guy to do the job the same day. The super nice guy (darn, forgot his name) even improved my deadbolt’s function at no additional cost. Very impressed, and will be sure to recommend to all my family and friends who ever need a locksmith in the Renton, Issaquah, Newcastle, or Bellevue area. Thanks so much to Bill’s Locksmith Service for such a smooth experience.

Excellent company! Had some issues with the ignition housing on my truck. I called around to a few locksmiths that advertise as being in the area. Bill’s Locksmith is the only one that gave me an accurate quote over the phone as opposed to saying they had to send a tech out who would give me a price onsite.
Service was fast, reliable and friendly!

Real locksmith shop that sells high end locks, re-​keys locks and makes keys that work. I recently bought a house that had all the original door locks from the early 60’s on it. I had 12 different keys to the various locks around the house and shop. I brought one of the very cool lock sets into a big box store to see if it could be re-​keyed without any luck. Bill’s was able to do all my locks and also had some new/​old stock deadbolts that matched my handles (from a company that no longer makes locks). I now have one key that fits all, great looking locks both old and new and feel secure in my home thanks to the helpful people in this shop.
