I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food with my first visit here. I ordered their blue plate special which was spaghetti and garlic bread and a fountain drink for 6.99. The place is a cafeteria style joint. The spaghetti was actually really good. They use a Italian sausage Sauce that had lots of good flavors going on. Garlic bread was good but not the best but again I would order the spaghetti again.

Came in with co-workers for lunch. I’d seen the signs from the main road for it before, but hadn’t thought about going in. The blue plate special for $ 6.99 was Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, and a soda. The portion was mid-size. It was filling. I don’t think there was enough meat in the one I received. It was mostly noodles. The garlic bread slice was on the small side as well. Otherwise, it tasted fine, but was fairly unremarkable. I’d imagine if you worked in the office park this place is in, it’d be more of a draw for convenience sake. It’s a bit off the main road in an office park. I had a slice of the Chocolate Mousse Cake because I was still a bit hungry after the spaghetti. It was decent. Basically a two layer cake with chocolate mousse in the middle. The cake was a touch dry. The mousse was good, but there could have been more of it. The coating of ganache on the outside was a touch dense, and made the eating of it more of a chore than I would have expected. The employees didn’t say much. The interior space was roomy, and the chairs were comfortable. It was an okay experience overall.

Alki has helped me serve our staff during our morning meetings and has never fallen short of providing great food and on time service which is very important. If you need a work event catered and just need it to happen, call Kim at Alki; she is very helpful.

I have upped my rating to four stars because their daily specials are great. Their soups are also very good. It’s a great place to sit down and grab a cheap tasty lunch. Friendly and fast service. My only recommendation would be to stick to the daily specials. Ordering off their regular menu can get pricey and it’s just ok. Again, great value and quality with the daily specials.

This place is located close to work so when I don’t bring my lunch, it’s a nice little place to go, with decent food. A bit pricey, but sandwiches are good. I rate 3 stars though because whoever does the ordering for inventory for this place is terrible. It’s not uncommon for me to have to order 2 or even 3 items before I find something they actually haven’t run out of for the day. I came in at 1 pm and ordered a special(a full 3 hours before closing) and they didn’t have it. The menu isn’t big so the specials bring some variety. They need to order a bit more. Other than that it’s a good place and service is good.

The Sandwiches are pretty good, now the chowder is really good and must try if you keep tabs on a good cup soup.

This is a good place to come for lunch if you’re working nearby. The prices are affordable and their selections are simple. Across the street is one of many Boeing offices, it’s located in the same building as a daycare(this is on the Kent area where most warehouses are located). The only downside to this place is its kinda hidden, I guess it’s somewhat good so only working people come here instead of attracting those unfamiliar… too bad though it would be nice for some local people to try it. I had their Alki garden salad and the clam chowder(comes with bread). The size & portions are large for an affordable $ 5.99& up! My husband tried the jalapeño steak sandwich at about $ 6.99. What I like about this place is its cozy, not too loud, service is quick and excellent and guess what? They will bus the table for you even though I have a habit of bringing my stuff towards the counter. So far I gave it three stars for now until I try more of their food. I’ll have to come here more often.

The employees have always been great, but non-catering prices are high for the quality and food has a tendency to be on the bland side unless it’s teriyaki day in which case you’ll be on salt overload. Ingredients aren’t always the highest quality either… like navy bean and ham soup that is made with lunch meat ham, and beef in French dips that is more gristle than meat.

Some of the sandwiches looked fantastic, but I wanted something hot and went with the lasagna. It was palatable, but not anything special. There were vegetables mixed in with the ground beef, which was a nice touch. The cheese on top wasn’t quite melted yet and it took several minutes longer to come out than my coworkers’ food even though I ordered first. It seemed as though Alki excels more at the sandwiches and desserts — I found myself ogling other people’s food and wishing I had gotten a sandwich and a cup of soup instead.

So, I came back into Alki in hopes of a better experience than the last time. After I pay for my meal, the cashier gives the ticket to the cook, he apparently didn’t like the type of ticket she gave him because he started yelling at her in front of everyone. I had come back around in line to get some pastries for my co-workers, and I think a manager was talking to the other employees about making sure that they weren’t picking on my previous cashier, and I had mentioned how maybe they should tell the cook not to yell at cashier like that because it’s quite unprofessional. It’s not like it was a big deal, and this isn’t exactly Hell’s Kitchen, and he most definitely isn’t Gordon Ramsey, she said«it’s just part of the business». Sorry, but I refuse to believe that belittling people is part of any business. Especially a small café. When I finally get my food, I take it to the office to eat it. In the bag is no utensils, lucky for them I’m okay with being a savage. I will eat with my hands. My eggs are on the brink of being over cooked, but my French toast is seriously mushy and raw in the middle. Couldn’t eat it! It was seriously disgusting. Thankfully, the bacon was delicious. Because otherwise I would have starved. Sorry Alki, but you just lost a star from me. Time to step up your game, Alki.

They’re really great for big groups when you call ahead of time. I’ve been twice with groups of ~20−24 and the service has been really fast. Not only are the prices good, but they had our table set up ahead of time and brought food out within a few minutes of ordering. Food is good for the price you pay, but it’s not phenomenal.

Started out bad — stopped in at 6:45am to pick up the awesome cinnamon rolls. I ordered a sandwich for my lunch … after waiting a long time everything was bagged up and off I went. Upon opening my sandwich it was all wrong — it was made with a bread I cannot eat — so I gave it away. I emailed customer service and let them know how disappointed I was. Not only did they call me back right away — they brought me lunch the next day, lunch for my office, and refunded my money. The food is great and the customer service is top notch. They have moved to the top of my list for corporate lunches and catered events.

I work a few minutes away from Alki Bakery in Kent so I thought I would try it out for breakfast since they specialize in Breakfast and Lunch. They open at 6:30am. I got there about 7:40am. So why is it that there was only less than a dozen pastries and 1 packaged wrapped bagel? Seriously. So I settled for a danish which is at the end of my list of liked pastries. Most of the ones in front were the berry ones so I assumed thats what I was getting. But when I got back to my office it was the cream cheese which I hate. So the girl didn’t even bother asking me which one I wanted? I will never come here again. I would rather drive further for Panera Bread. Oh and the danish taste old #BREAKFASTRUINED #FAIL

I used to work close by and I went here a few times and I wouldn’t recommend this place. I tried a variety of things from their menu but nothing was very good. And the service here is terrible. The workers were usually pretty unprofessional and unhelpful. Also the food was a pricy for the quality that you receive.

It was my first time here at alki bakery and I must say its a great place to just relax and enjoy your lunch. The environment was amazing and the ladies were extremely friendly. One in particular was a woman named Maya. Her smile and energy brighten up the room. She was carasmatic, friendly and must I add very beautiful. Her service was 100% great. The other ladies were great as well. Hard working and friendly at that. If you ever get a chance stop on by alki bakery located in Kent, wa. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered the veggie sandwich with hummus and side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was great, good flavor, but the sandwich was about as bland as possible and there was only 1pc of greens(iceburg) on the whole thing. I would not recommend if you’re looking for a meat alternative.

I had catering from Alki Bakery at a corporate event. It was really fantastic! The cold sandwiches, which can be really plain, boring and lame at these events, were really good. They were imaginative and tasty, with ingredients like roasted red peppers and unique spreads. The chips and queso were wonderful too. The only less-than-stellar item on the buffet table was the chicken wing. They were fatty and soggy, but still not terrible. The ladies who set up the food and took care of the giant crowd were on top of their game. Everyone was happy and well-fed.

Some people compare this place to Panera Bread but I don’t know why. Panera is much better in terms of quality and variety. This place is also overpriced for what you get. Their pastries are good but I would not recommend their sandwiches or pasta; bland and boring.

Please… for my sanity and your own safety. …do not go here. I had a temp job in the area for the summer and this was a convenient place to go. The food was sub-par. Soups were pretty good, sandwiches were basic, and the pasta bland. They offer daily specials that are favorable. The last time I went or will ever go was today. I decided to try the pasta special. It was okay… nothing a little salt couldn’t fix. It wasn’t until I was 2⁄3 done with my plate that I bit into something I quickly realized I couldn’t chew. It was a longer strand of plastic. Please. Please please… don’t go here. Don’t take your kids here.

I stopped in here because I have driven by for years and now that my office is near, I thought why not. I had co-workers talking about it as well and I now know why. Originally, I was going to just see what they offered for breakfast because I didn’t have anything before leaving the house. That led me to get their croissant sandwich with ham. That was a big sandwich and really good. The eggs were not over-done which happens with scrambled eggs like that. The day I stopped in, there soup was going to be Split Pea for lunch. Lucky for me, it was already done so I snagged a cup to go for my lunch later. I LOVE split pea, but it has to be good. I was glad that I did, it was rather tasty. Not the best I have ever had but it was certainly worth it and I would get it again. I was suprised how big this place was, I look forward to going back for lunch some time.
