I have been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. I began my career on Telegraph Ave. and from there went up to College Ave. I opened my first salon in 2003 and then spent some time at Circle Salon before finding my current location in upper Kensington.

My education background is from Sebastian International, Aquage Formal Styling, American Crew Mens Styling, Toni and Guy, and Rusk.

I love working with fine straight hair, as well as thick and curly. I use the new Kenra color line which gives tons of shine and beautiful color results.

I love hair, you could say I have a hair addiction.

Marlen Arechiga will make you look and feel BEAUTIFUL. I have been seeing her for eyelash tint and eyebrow shaping for almost a decade. She is now in business with her daughter, Inca. She is experienced, professional, and super friendly!

I went to Marlen for a leg and basic bikini wax on the weekend and she is amazing!
Very reasonably priced, it barely hurt and was done in just over 30 minutes. Hands down the best wax I have experienced in the two years I have been living in Berkeley.
Just to top it off, Marlen is extremely friendly and lovely. Highly recommended.

I’ve been a customer of Inca’s for more than fifteen years, since she was working at a salon on College Ave in Oakland. She’s an excellent hair stylist who has kept my hair looking great all those years. She’s also cut and colored my girlfriend’s hair and she excels at that, too.
Her new location is up a flight of stairs in the shopping section of the Arlington in Kensington. She does hair in front and her mother does waxing and facials in the back. Parking has always been easily available when I’ve come. I would encourage you to give Inca Design a try!
