Scoops Ice Cream & Candy

Decided to drive up to Wisconsin while visiting Chicago. As soon as you cross the border, the area has a whole different look and feel. We scoped out places for cheese and ice cream, and decided on Scoop’s for the ice cream. So glad we did. Lots of unique flavors and everyone loved what they got. My husband got the Zanzibar Chocolate, and I got the Exhausted Parent (bourbon-​infused espresso ice cream with chocolate chunks). YUM. Cute shop in downtown Kenosha. We took our ice cream down to the lake, and thoroughly enjoyed it while walking along the shore. Beautiful evening.

Five stars for going out of the way to be allergy friendly!!! They have entire case of nut (peanut and tree nut) free ice cream. It was wonderful to be able to let my daughter choose a cool flavor and know it was safe!!!
They also had gluten and diary allergy accommodations. Thank you thank you thank you! Great tastes too and cute shoppe.

Has unique ice cream flavors like Horchata and Amber Ale Salted Caramel. Definitely get a double scoop, it’s only a dollar more. Super happy I found gummie cubs, mini gummie bears. Haven’t found them outside of WI candy parlors. Perfect to go to after a day at the beach!

After reading all of the reviews on here I thought I can’t loose. Well was I wrong. There were 3 people working the evening we were there and it seemed only one person knew how to make anything. I first ordered a banana split but after a few minutes I was told they ran out of banana’s. Really!!! A Sunday night at 5:30pm and out of banana’s already. Anyone else that wanted one was also out of luck for the next 2 ½ hours before they close. Now the guy who made the Badger brownie for us made a masterpiece but he took FOREVER to make it. The girl who made my 2 scoop sundae kept looking at the menu before and looked like it was the first time she ever made anything. The ice cream was ok but it’s not like they make it there, so how can they screw that up. I was very disappointed and thought everything was over priced.

This little old fashioned shop is right in the middle of downtown Kenosha and should be a must stop if you are ever wandering around the down town area of the city.
I must admit that the downtown area needs a little revitalizing. The south end of the main downtown area is anchored by this ice cream shop as there is not much else in the general area except a toy store. Sorry, I digress but what I am getting at is that you need to walk all the way down to the end of the street if you don’t want to miss this little gem.
They have a very good selection of ice cream and candies for any sweet tooth. It is good quality ice cream too. The décor takes you back to an early time ice cream parlor.

Cute little shop!!! in the heart of downtown Kenosha!

Some of the best ice cream you’ll find in Kenosha! I haven’t tried all the flavors (there are LOTS) but every one I have tried has been great. They also have flavors for people who are lactose intolerant, and a nice variety of chocolates in their candy case. It’s a nice, clean ice cream shop located in an historic old theatre in downtown Kenosha. When the owners remodeled the place they took their time and did the job right. When my grandkids visit they insist on going there for ice cream. And since I have 12 grandkids, that makes me very happy!

Such a great place to bring the little ones and the ice cream is AMAZING. Service is as good as it gets-​I could go on and on but won’t. Just trust me and head down to Scoops – enjoy downtown Kenosha and the lakefront – you won’t regret it!

An ice cream parlor next to a toy store: brilliant. The boyf and I had dinner at Captain Mike’s one summer Saturday evening and wandered down to Scoops for dessert. Downtown Kenosha looks a little dilapidated in parts, but the corner on which Scoops is still charming. They have a great selection of flavors of ice cream, sorbets, Italian ices, and even soy/​vegan ice cream as well as candy and hand-​dipped chocolates for sale. I sampled the fellow Unilocaler-​recommended champagne sorbet but ended up going with caramel toffee crunch ice cream instead, and my boyfriend and I each got single scoops in cake cones: plenty of ice cream, just over $ 5 total. There’s lots of seating inside and out, but we ambled a few blocks southward to Library Park to enjoy our cones on the go. For regular eating-​out ice cream cravings, Dairy Queen or McDonald’s would likely do, but for special ones, I would recommend Scoops.

The ice cream’s just okay, nothing special. It is way overpriced, as are the jars of novelty candies that line the walls. Be aware that milkshakes take TWENTY minutes to prepare, so by the time you get it everyone else in your group will be more than ready to move on. The ice cream parlor is connected to a toy store, so be prepared for any kids you bring to drag you in there and it will be difficult to extract them.

Great local ice cream shop. Highly recommend the champagne sorbet! Warning though, if you head there during the weekend you might find yourself amongst a 12 year-​olds birthday party — oye!

I could have icecream from here everyday for the rest of my life and be a happy camper.
My husband and I bought our first home in the downtown area and have loved going to see the shops & restaurants. While we were walking home, we stopped by Scoops and it was love.
Every single person who has come to visit us from another area — we go to Scoops. Every single time we think «Icecream sounds good» — we go to Scoops.
Their icecream is awesome, their shop is charming and clean, their workers are pleasant, the prices are wonderful, but most of all their chocolate covered potato chips are to die for.

Now I find myself «SCREAMING for Ice cream» daily! The shop has opened and will have its grand opening on Saturday, November 8^th from 3 to 8 pm with live music (including Macyn Taylor) and soup and ice cream samples. I’m happy to see Kenosha have such a stellar snack shop so treat yourself by stepping it up a bit from going to Dairy Queen or The Spot and hitting up Scoops.
When it comes to ice cream, they have 32 flavors, 8 of which are split between soy/​vegan ice cream and sorbet. It’s friendly & enjoyable for everyone! They are always bringing new flavors in to sell and have the public sample (for example, holiday flavors like egg nog, pumpkin pie, peppermint bark and champagne sorbet). Oh that’s not the end of it! For $ 1 extra you can exchange your average sugar cone for one made of Pretzel (my favorite due to the mix of salty and creamy), M&M, Chocolate Chunk & Chocolate Cookie. You could also try something new for me called a LolliStraw which is a candy straw to slurp up a ice cream shake/smoothie…Or, you can choose your preferred flavor to make a Classic Wisconsin Root Beer Float with Milwaukee’s only Sprecher’s root beer.
They don’t only sell ice cream but also an assortment of chocolates (fudge, pecan/​caramel turtles, brittle), kids candies (for all ages of course), and even a connecting Heim’s Toy Store! A true kids haven! More menu items are soon to come like a local shop’s homemade soup. New changes are coming about so be sure to visit!
