By far the best breakfast I have ever had!!! It is a little bit of weight for the food but it is 100% worth it everything is homemade and fresh! I have never had anything that compares to the portions and the price! I was a little nervous I did not know what to expect my husband is a big fan of this place he took me there for my first time today for breakfast and it blew my mind! I would recommend this restaurant to anybody they stop serving breakfast at 11 I do want to go back for breakfast i have never had their lunch but have heard nothing but good things from my husband and family about their big burgers! This is a must try restaurant very friendly local definitely is worth it!

MAX’S Family Café is truly the best place to eat! The food is homemade, absolutely delicious burgers and breakfast, homemade coleslaw and hush puppies, potions are more than enough to fill a hungry appetite. The FUN part of the visit, though, is the atmosphere. VERY retro, lots of 50s, 60s decore. Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean are prominent. It’s just so fun to look around while waiting for your food. There’s always a wonderful black and white Turner Classic movie running for entertainment. I can’t say enough about thus diamond in the rough. Definitely worth the trip. I make sure I make a trip in for breakfast or lunch when I visit. If you want the best BBQ around, make sure to visit on a Thursday night!

Brandon(the chef) makes the best burger in Southern Oregon. Definitely try the patty melt! Yum! The food is always hot and fresh and everyone’s always got a smile on their face. Sprouts on the BLT make an excellent addition and the fresh cut fries are the best I’ve had! Take note that food is served basket style and on paper plates with disposable utensils. This is due to the location and something to do with the water lines and limited use on water permitted. It’s a homestyle diner in a hole in the wall town. Max’s feels like youre eating at Grandma’s house. Grab your own seat. Fill up your coffee, or they’ll bring it to you if you’d like! Play a game of chess, marvel at the array of Elvis and Marilyn memorabilia, or watch the news on the big screen TV. The great expectations here are the food and the service, hands down. As the sign reads — breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner! BBQ is to die for!

We were on our way to Ashland from Klamath Falls. We drove by Max’s Café and I told my husband to turn around since it was lunch time. A pleasant staff greeted us. We loved the retro style with the Elvis memorabilia. We spoke with the very personable owner, Max, I believe. Steve had the daily special, an avocado burger and I had the BLT. We both had fries. The burger was a hand formed ½ lb. burger patty. The bacon was applewood bacon from Montana. We were delighted with our lunches. Absolutely delicious! My compliments to the chef, a very charming young man. Max’s appears to be a favorite of locals, too. We will return.
