When Jakes first opened it was great, a bit expensive but you didn’t mind because of the quality. Until one day we went and witnessed a burger making atrocity. The cook put a press on the meat and pressed down so hard the burger was paper thin. I realized they use such a small portion of meat that they have to press it in order for it to reach the sides of the bun. Anyone who has made a burger knows you never press it as it will dry it out. They then pile on lettuce and tomatoes etc to bulk it up. I removed the bun to look and there were actual gaps in the meat and it was still only the size of a Big Mac patty. I was very disappointed. The shakes are good but are pricey. Go to Wendy’s next door. They always get your order wrong but at least there is actual mass to the burger. I really wanted to like Jakes but they failed.

You’re not going to a burger joint for your health, to be sure — you’re coming for taste. On that front, I have to say, Wayback Burgers delivers. This is the quintessence of American-style food: greasy, salty, and delicious. If you want a meaty burger with traditional sauces on a regular ol’ white bun — you’ve come to the right place. Fries and onion rings? They’re done right — oily and crisp. They do milkshakes, too, but the Slim Jim milkshake was a little over-the-top for me. Even at my most adventurous, I planned to stay away from that one. The staff members are solicitous; the place can get busy at lunch sometimes, but service is pretty quick. The place is clean.

Great burgers and fries. My wife got a custom order burger and I got the Rodeo burger. We shared a full order of fries and it was just enough for us. Fast service and friendly staff.

Overpriced Single burger was sad. Overpowered by BBQ sauce on the Rodeo burger. Onion rings we oily and cold. Nothing special to write about. Save yourself a lot of money and go for fast food if that is what your into. Did I say OVERPRICED! Two burgers and one order of onion rings $ 19. It would be OK if it could be eaten but the quality was terrible.

We were in the mood for a burger at 8pm on a Monday, and I remembered noticing some burger place tucked away off route 1. Burgers were freshly made, fast and DELICIOUS. Will definitely go again, hope they get enough business because it’s easy to miss.

Stopped in for burgers and milkshakes. From the moment we ordered until we walked out the staff was awesome. Very friendly group of employees, definitely will be back.

Not the worst burger I’ve ever had, but certainly not the best. I don’t think I would have come to this place had I not been staying at the hotel next to it. And when I say next to it, I mean that Jake’s is practically in the hotel parking lot. I opted for the burger of the month, which was a bacon cheeseburger with fried pickles. The beef was very greasy. The bacon was soggy. I could not taste the pickles. And yet even with all the greasiness, the burger still tasted dry. Overall I was very underwhelmed. The milkshake I had was fantastic, however. I’d probably come back just for the milkshakes.

They do a tasty but greasy burger. The fries are ok, the onion rings are ok, the shakes are reputed to be good according to those who like them… Have only had carry out — it’s better then McD’s for example, but the amount of grease on the burger wrapping just screams NOTHEALTHY, NOTHEALTHY… If you are in a meat eating mood this should be given due consideration.

Not a destination burger, but the people were friendly and the homemade potato chips were excellent.

Burger grisley and bacon under cooked. Girl at the counter double charged me and I was told it was her first day. Why wasn’t she supervised? After lunch we went back to order 2 shakes and waited 20 min. Until we went up asked if they were going to make them, and they found them, already made, just sitting there. They handed them to us and the guy muttered a rude comment to his coworker. Never will we return. Subpar food and poor service.

While the burgers were delicious, the homemade fries were cooked inconsistently. Some were soggy. Also, the shakes were thin and full of ice crystals. Not so great. We won’t be going back.

I had a meeting in the hilton next to Jakes Wayback Burgers on 5÷7÷11. At lunch time I took a walk over there to have some lunch. I had the turkey burger, and some fries. The place was very clean and staff was friendly. I recommend trying Jakes Wayback if you are in the area.

Alone stood a poor little empty building. Once the proud home of a Saxby’s coffee shop. A quaint little business that had two major problems. 1. It was located within a couple of clicks of a Starbucks. 2. It was in a shitty location, hard to get to and exit from when speeding along on Route 1. Two reasons for business failure. But along comes the good folks of Jake’s Wayback Burgers and take residence of said empty building. When the sign went up, it did indeed spark interest. Shortly after the grand opening, we decide to give them a try. Nice small place, friendly staff(they always are when they first open) and fresh food made to order! Good stuff. Fresh ingredients + made to order = big bucks, no whammy’s! $ 5 for a double cheese burger. No fries, no soda. It is my maiden voyage, so I give it a go even though it is outside of the limits for a burger purchase. Everything on it please! So they deliver. Holy crap! This shit rocks! Fresh(not frozen) beef fried to perfection with hot, oozing American cheese dripping off the edges, just enough veggies to top it off and wedged between two measly buns(who needs those carbs anyway) just large enough to hold everything in place for a great burger! Your fries are made fresh, they don’t sit around under a heat lamp waiting to be dispersed or dumped in the trash. I would rather have a double/double animal style from In-N-Out, but when you live in Philly, you have to go with what is local. Keep up the great work!
