Took our three kids for the first time during their spring break vacation. My wife and I also decided to skate! We had a blast and will be returning soon!

Came in for a birthday party and the kids had a great time. Our party person was great!
My only complaint is the way the online pricing is handled. The system asks for a kid headcount and adult head count and then gives you a price estimate. What wasn’t apparent is that the estimated price is not for the head count provided but instead it is for the original 10 kids included in the party package. So long story short, prepare for sticker shock if you use the online system and then bring more than 10 kids…

Had a recent instance with phone being left at this location. The manager was gracious enough to mail the phone.. The staff seems helpful and willing to give excellent service.

OMG! I LOVE SPARKLES! Let me just clarify, I’m past my roller skating prime (gotta take care of those knees now!) but I give this place 5 stars for two reasons: 1.) They are STILL open, so they must be doing something right. I started going in 1981. Nineteen Eighty One! Good times.
2.) They have a sign posted that profanity will not be tolerated. How nostalgic & refreshing. Atleast they took time to actually put it on a sign.
3.) They still offer skate lessons & have a skate shop… so…what’s not like totally awesome about that?!
Love you Sparkles. Every time I drive by you, I smile! Please never go away. Kennesaw is your forever home!

It was what I expected of a roller rink and it was actually in better condition than many I’ve been to. I also like how there’s a play area for smaller kids. My son is 5 and he enjoyed it. However, I don’t think they should charge for its use. It’s not like it can be used up. It’s just a play area like they have McDonald’s. Well definitely be back and it’s fun to watch the really good skaters do their thing!

Loved skating as a kid and introduced my 6yo son to it. He loves it and wants to come all the time. Best location!

Better check before you go on a weekday during the summer to make sure they are not over loaded with kids from daycares. We went and there were at least 3 large daycare groups there. Person at front sold us «unlimited» laser tag bracelet. In 2.5 hours, the boys were only able to play 3 games. We spoke with the manager upon leaving and she apologized that «YOU misunderstood» unlimited does not mean play as often as you like, it means you can play when there is a space available. I understand that philosophy, but, we should have been told when we bought the wristband how crowded it was that day. Manager did not seem to care about that. Very poor service and unprofessional.

Kid friendly. My boyfriend and I usually skate here once a month on Monday evenings. $ 2 per person.

Fun place to take the kids. They enjoy the roller skating and games. Staff is super friendly. The pizza is surprisingly really good. Could us an update and a good cleaning. But as far as location goes its in a good spot. Not far from a ton of neighborhoods.

Rollerskating — it’s one of my favorite past times. I used to go to Sparkles every Monday for $ 1 skate night, but a few years back they changed it so that you only got the discount if you had a child with you. I stopped going. I enjoy this rink, but the ever changing DJs is bound to make or break this place. They apparently now sell alcohol, but they don’t cater to adults at all. How about once a month adult night?

My kids love this place, they have a nice mix of music and the food isn’t bad either. I just wish they had a more reliable WiFi connection.

I am a 90’s kid and Sparkles was where all the cool kids went on the weekends and yep, you guessed it, I was a cool kid!
When Salt-​N-​Pepa came over the loud speaker I owned that floor! Between «Push it» and «Shoop» I skated so fast, sang so loud and did so many spins you’d think I was trying out for Star Search.
If you didn’t have a Birthday party here; didn’t overdose on cherry Slurpee’s so hard your tongue and teeth were red and never challenged the helpless skating staff while staying on the floor during «adult skate» you didn’t have a good childhood!

I get all nostalgic when I walk into Sparkles. I banked a lot of time at this Sparkles when I was younger. So to take my 6 year old niece skating here gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling. I remember having & attending many birthday parties here. I’d skate around that rink like I owned the place. The layout was a bit different and sadly, they didn’t have laser tag back then. However, it mostly looks and feels the same. They have the jungle gym play thingy, the arcade games, the same pizza and Icees and basically the same rink except now it’s cement I think instead of wood. The skates aren’t the light brown old skates they use to be but they’re just as ugly. No worries though, what rink offers nice new skates anyway?
As a 30 year old, I think I have as much fun as my niece does out there on the rink, maybe more since I don’t need the skating helper :). And it’s crazy how you can pick it right back up, although I’m not quite as fast as I used to be though. I try to take my niece whenever I’m back in town and each time, we’ve always had a great time. It’s never been too overcrowded, even for a Friday night. The staff is always very nice & patient when my niece takes 10 minutes to figure out if she wants to buy candy, stickers or a plastic ring with the 20 tickets she just won at skeeball. The only negative I can say is that some of the music they play might be a little too grown-​up for the youngins’ but that’s just my opinion. I’ll continue to go skate my little heart out (or for at least the 2 songs it takes for my thighs to start burning and then I gotta go take a break).

Had a fabulous time! So glad that we did the UNLIMITED package. The black light laser and fog made laser tag memorable! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Thanks Marty for suggesting the managers special with tokens… what a great savings. We will definitely be back!

More than 10 years had passed since I had been to Sparkles. Back in elementary school, the green building would host skate nights for the local schools. In the decade that followed, the building switched to a blue and black hue, followed by a total star-​studded remodel. Now that I’ve been back, I can say that the remodel was quite successful. The laser tag is fantastic, and is probably one of the best around. The roller rink is pretty much the same, but inline skates are no longer rented at a higher price, which is a welcome change. A few things were small frustrations, such as the out of service ATM, the lockers that require 50 cents every time you open them, and the out of stock concession items. However, the overall experience was a trip down memory lane and is quite enjoyable. If you are a little older, bring a group of friends so you aren’t three times the height of everyone there. Their unlimited rates are a great deal that ensure hours of fun.

I just threw a birthday party for my daughter who turned 7 at Sparkles. There were 12 children all together for a 3:30 PM party on a Saturday (it was a good time slot since it wasn’t as crowded as I had seen before). I got the 3-​activity package that included skating, laser tag, and the play gym, which kept everyone busy for almost 3 hours. Everyone had a great time, even those who never skated before. The party was short and sweet with pizza and drinks (included) and cake (brought in), and the hostess was great with the kids. Most parents stuck around to watch over their children, which was helpful, but I was able to keep my eye on them most of the time. Since it wasn’t so crowded, we could find places to sit and hang out watching them skate and play.

I know. .. 5 stars for a rollerskating rink? You bet.
This one has it all…great rink, great sound, laser tag, a huge play area for the kids that are too small/​tired to skate, lots of midway games that are resonably priced and pay out LOTS of tickets for cute little prizes (again, reasonably priced), plenty of space for parents that want to sit/​watch/​FaceBook, and a nice little café for munchies.
AND. .. they are hosting a 70s night this Saturday! Who’s gonna be there? I am!

This will definitely take you back! I went with some friends to skate this evening and I don’t think we could have gone at a better time. Monday is 99 cent day — it’s a dollar to get in, and rent skates. Then it’s a dollar if you want a piece of pizza or drink. Good bargain. It was also a little crowded for the likes of me, who hasn’t skated since I was 11 — so I may go back another time when there might not be so many people. I have a lot of practice to do. It’s a great place to bring kids — there’s a play area and I think they have laser tag too. A skate shop is also on the main stretch. Check it out.

I went here to celebrate a birthday party yesterday and it turns out that roller skating is just as much fun as I remembered it being when I was a little kid. The environment at Sparkles provided the type of good wholesome fun that has been missing from my adult life for a long time. I did not even have to drink any alcohol to enjoy myself. It was crazy.
I recommend all adults who visit this location go old school and rent the roller skates instead of the fancy in-​line skates or «roller blades.» The group that I was actually hanging out with for the birthday party had decided beforehand that we should all dress up in our best outfits from the 1980’s era and rock it out for a majority of the day on the skating rink. In light of our retro outfits, the roller blades would not have been a great compliment to the era that we were representing.
The main reason that I decided to give this place 3 stars is because of the way that they handle birthday parties. If you want to bring in cake, balloons, presents, etc. and sit at one of the many tables in the dining area that were not even close to full, then you have no choice but to pay a $ 150 reservation fee. If you don’t pay this fee they will not let you bring one single balloon or present into the building. I personally thought they had a «Nazi Style Roller Rink» mentality.
Th reservation fee for parties includes free admission & skate rentals for everyone in your party (normally costs $ 3.50 a person), 10 video game tokens a person (total value $ 2.50), 10 pieces of cheap greasy pizza and three pitchers of flat soda!!! Wow, if you think about it that way that $ 150 fee is worth every penny (cough…cough…bullsh**)
I did the math and all of the perks included in the reservation fee normally would run you about $ 80 at the most. That means that they charged us $ 70 for the table area!!! You would think the table would have massaging back rests or a gold plated table top for that kind of money.
Another thing that irritated me about Sparkles in Kennesaw is the way they tried to squeeze every penny they could out of parents. They even had a «glow session» which required every kid to purchase a $ 3 glowing bracelet or other piece of jewelry from the «glow cart» if they wanted to skate. This was obviously the handy work of the management at Sparkles, who felt it was necessary to capitalize on a kids dependency to have fun and feel like part of the group they are hanging out with.
Overall, I had fun at Sparkles, but I probably will not be back ever again. There were too many creepy older dudes wearing referee outfits. Not to mention the skate rental guy was talking to himself and the management staff were rude and tried to make us not feel welcome there because we happened to be in our 20’s.

Can I just tell you how shattered I am right about now? My beloved Sparkles in Marietta is supposedly no longer open to the public. I spent a good portion of my life there, skating like a demon, knocking people over. Good times, good times.
But Sparkles has recently opened a new location in Kennesaw, and they have some sort of state-​of-​the-​art concrete floor that is more conducive to skating than the traditional wood flooring.
I have always loved rollerskating, but in recent years found that I don’t jive well with kiddies because I still want to knock them over, but as an adult, I have to refrain. It’s a lawsuit dying to happen. But I found myself in luck when I was told that they have adult nights! Some of my friends and I went and had a blast! And folks, it is definitely a workout so be prepared to sweat!
Check the website for locations and adult skate times. Most adult nights are on week days… and what else are you going to do? Get off the couch and go skate!
