History

Established in 1996.

Jay McCann and Chris Brogdan had an new concept for a restaurant: a neighborhood daytime breakfast and lunch spot that would feature traditional house-made favorites, healthy choices, and creative menu options in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. A tall order, but one they knew could be successful if they got it right. The first J. Christopher’s opened in 1996 in Marietta, GA — and we’ve been expanding ever since.

Overpriced for what you get but if price is not a factor, the place is clean and the food is good. Ordered the Just Bubba and thought the gravy and sausage was very skimpy. Just a few slices of sausage and the gravy didn’t cover the biscuit.

Solid dining choice. Nothing amazing but food is consistent with good portion sizes. Coffee, particularly for those who enjoy it black, isn’t great. Service has always been so so. Food is fine; it just doesn’t wow. A big plus for me is my food has never been over seasoned/salted.

This place is by fast the best breakfast place I’ve had in Kennesaw. My kids love it and they’re extremely picky eaters and they even have eggs Benedict which not many restaurants do. We go there almost every Sunday after church and it’s always busy but the wait isn’t too bad. The most we’ve had to wait is 15 – 30 minutes. And even though I have 2 toddlers it’s worth the wait and a great environment. My kids love the French toast or Belgian waffle and I can barely finish a Belgian waffle but my toddlers eat it up. If you haven’t tried J. Christopher’s yet, you definitely should!

YUMMY! This was our first visit and the food was amazing! The biscuits were so soft. The sausage and gravy skillet was cheesy and delicious. The OJ was freshly squeezed and wasn’t the sugary crap most restaurants serve. The cinnamon roll was gooey and wonderful. We have found our new favorite breakfast place!

Delicious food. Impeccable service.
I had pork chops that were more than just pork chops. Absolutely tender and cooked to perfection. I was waited by long time friend who has greeted us like he does everyone, but remembered me, my tastes, and ask what I’ve been up to.
I always do love being suggested new menu items, always ask for recommendations because I love trying new things.

I have been here twice and both times were exceptional. The crunch blueberry pancakes are so delicious and the eggs Benedict was scrumptious. The atmosphere is charming with a bright, modern twist. All the staff was helpful and welcoming. Nikki was our server today and she was cheerful and on top of everything. We never had to wait for anything, we will definitely be back!!!

Food was good, got a waffle + bacon with a cup of tea. Bill was cheap, only $ 13. Server (Sarah N) was excellent.
In town on business. Might go back tomorrow.
I sat at the bar. I was the only one sitting there, every other bar seat was open. Both when i arrived and As i was leaving, i saw a bunch of people waiting for tables.
The bar is open… Just sit down…

Nice place for brunch! It was busy but there was a very short wait. That’s awesome for a Saturday brunch around 11:00-ish anywhere. I had the Belgian waffle with a side of turkey bacon. The food arrived quickly and the waffle was great, the turkey bacon had just the right amount of crisp. The only thing that needs improvement is the coffee. It just wasn’t very flavorful. They serve a different flavored one each day, that day it was Irish cream and it didn’t taste any better than the unflavored one. Our server was a nice and friendly young lady and the entire staff wait staff was helpful.

Came here on Sunday for brunch, it was my first visit and I have to say I truly enjoyed myself. The place was packed so that was my first impression that the establishment had some good food. I don’t remember what myself and my other party ordered but to me the food was good not anything spectacular but good. What really moved my taste buds was the chai tea. Now that was delicious and they don’t skimp on the serving either, my mug was humongous. Over all, I’d go again. Well to be honest I’ve been back just for the tea already

I gave this location another shot today and it was a totally different experience which leads me to believe that I caught them on an off day. The service this time was prompt and friendly. The food was up to J. Christopher’s usual standards. All in all it was a good experience. I will definitely come back.

Went there a few days ago with a large group. They say us in a private room that was perfect. I’ve always liked the food and the meal and service was excellent. The French toast is awesome and the bacon was cooked perfectly. A lot of places over cook the bacon, but they didn’t.
I’ll definitely be back.

Finally made it over to JCrissy’s, Yuck. I think I see why it took me so long.
I decided to try the blueberry crunch pancake. It was ok, but didn’t have enough granola on it to make it crunchy. The platter came with scrambled eggs, which I asked for with cheese (they came with no cheese), homefried potatoes– I think they gave me old ones, as they were so hard they made my teeth hurt. I asked for my bacon to be cooked soft, but it came out semi-crunchy, the link sausage was terrible. I sent it back in exchange for a Coke.
I sat at the coffee bar, which is also where the servers hang out and discuss their personal business. I guess they didn’t mind me overhearing since I was the only person sitting at the bar. The restaurant volume was LOUD. My server was nice and attentive.
I won’t be going back again. Wasn’t impressed. At all.

In the Unilocal rating system, 3 Stars means «A-OK.» That is a good description of J Christopher’s: a good, solid A-OK.
The restaurant is colorful, open, and cheerful. I like the layout. However, I was there pretty early and only a few tables had guests. Other reviewers have said the restaurant is loud when it is full: I am sure they are right.
I liked my server; she was very attentive and quick. The menu has the usual offerings (e.g., bacon and eggs), but also has some twists (e.g., a lox plate, skillets).
The coffee was very good and hot. However, my coffee cup was sticky and had crumbs on it (a minus). I ordered Eggs Benedict. The eggs were done perfectly (a major plus). The Hollandaise sauce was average. The English muffin was a bit burnt (a minor minus).
In spite of the problems, J Christopher’s is definitely «A-OK.» J Christopher’s is a longer haul for me than other breakfast places; however, it is worth the extra drive. I will be back.
