Daytrip Jr.

It was quite a while ago when I visited this place and had a very bad experience. I haven’t used Unilocal in a while but when I logged on and was reminded of this, I thought I should update it with the fact that, a few days afterwards, the owner called to discuss the situation and unilaterally sent us a box of toys to make up for the bad experience, which was a classy thing to do.

Best toy store ever. Seriously. if you need a gift you can’t go wrong because everything in here is so cute. They have clothes, but more toys and books. They even have a whale you can ride for a quarter. Nice selection of organic clothes and blankets as well. A must if you go through kennybunkport.

Ugh, kids. But I have friends who have them for whatever reason, and they wanted me to buy gifts for them on some birthday that the tiny beings won’t even remember. So, I dropped in here before heading to a «kid’s birthday party» which was really a bunch of drunk adults and some babies in swings. Way better than what I thought it would be!
Anyway, Daytrip Jr. hooked us up with some cool gifts. We opted for books because babies need to get their act together and at least learn how to read for chrissake. We probably spent like 20 bucks here, but the person at the cash register was so awesome, she put some nice tissue paper in the bags and made them look way better than we would’ve if we tried to wrap them. No extra charge, and she seemed genuinely pleased to dress up these gifts. It was seriously above and beyond. As an added bonus, she didn’t ask us some bullshit question like, «Is this for a boy or a girl?» Which is more than I can say for the *pet* store across the street. Like my freaking cat or some 2-​year old who can barely say «societal construct» gives a crap if the toy has a blue or pink ribbon on it. Nice work, Daytrip, Jr!

I don’t have kids. I don’t need a gift for a kid. But I had to go in. Great, enticing window display drew me inside. Well edited selection of modern/​hip infant and children’s gifts, books, toys, etc. Very friendly sales assistant on duty. I wound up buying a harmonica for myself. Considering having a kid just so I can shop here more often. Kudos.
