Overall — worrying Good lord — when we pulled up to this place, it was definitely NOT what I had expected… The«parking» was very limited if there was ANY at all. There was a few gravel patches at the edge of green lawn — but that was it. We eventually got a spot, walked in and was 10 minutes early. The décor, I have to admit was an acquired taste. To me a doctor’s surgery should be immaculately shining and gleaming with cleanliness. Ok, guess you can call me anal — but it’s just what I like. There was an old thin blue carpet that looked like it had been fitted in the 50s, several LARGE patterned quilts, a grandfather clock, brown wooden benches that were incredibly dated, crocheted table-clothes etc. Basically, it looked like going to a typical«grandmas house» — but NOT my grandma. The smell was overwhelming when I first walked in, it had a certain stale, musty and lingering old smell. Ewww, makes me shudder thinking about it. Our purpose here was to get a medical. We had to wait 40 minutes to be seen, were told to fill in forms only to be asked the same questions again by the nurse. The back room — «surgery», was a tiny small space, with one bench/table to lie on, and two seats. We had our preliminary check up with the nurse, who took our blood and did a TB test — Dr. Simpson(a very short, spectacle wearing old man) then gave us the routine check-up — eyes, teeth/gums(???), lungs, liver and heart. In total, it came to 22 minutes of their time — and a whopping $ 600 paid in advance, despite us having full health insurance… makes me wonder why the hell I didn’t go into medicine. I definitely wouldn’t use these people as my regular doctors.
