If a car salesman used this same logic on me as he’s trying to sell my hypothetical daughter a ’76 Pinto as a safe and reliable ride, I would take her hypothetical hand, walk away, and use it as a great learning opportunity about terrible sales people. How about some sinew? Do you carry that? I just want my feet attached to the sticks so I can go down the hill fast.

I came in hoping to find an authentic ski shop with passionate shredders to match (and hopefully some new bindings!). Unfortunately I found these answers that didn’t encourage me to spend the $ 200 – 500 that bindings cost. I’ve had many a pair of Markers and was looking for something else. I hope no one falls victim to this. Knowledge is power. At least tell me that you’ve done your research and they’re the absolute best bindings on the market and that’s why you carry those and nothing else.
Ended up with Rossignol bindings from evo. Must say I like them better than any Markers I’ve had.

These guys are great! They had good prices on some stuff for my kid, and they made time to swap out my pedals and adjust some stuff that I needed done right now (and didn’t have the necessary tools with me). As always, a solid bike shop!

Another great experience at Ski and Bike. Sunday I crashed my road bike. Bent the titanium dérailleur hanger which is built into the frame. Messed up the rear dérailleur cage, shift cable, bar tape and a few other things. I dropped my bike off Sunday afternoon after realizing I couldn’t fix it myself. Today (Monday) got a call that it’s ready to be picked up. They were able to fix everything. Even got a call from the mechanic that did the work explaining everything he did and everything he checked. Nice touch to call and see if I had any questions prior to picking it up. They did all of that for less than $ 50 in less than 24 hours. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks again guys! Keep up the good work.

Went in for a pair of $ 17 branded Hybrid tires. The same tires brand and model here were $ 40 a piece and $ 20 for install! What should have costs $ 40 costs $ 110! Plus, instead of throwing in he install, they charged for that. Then, I needed a presta valve inflator, a .25 cent piece. You would’ve thought the guys would throw it in since you just spent that much on overpriced parts, but nope. The guy rings it up and charges me another $ 2.00. I had to re swipe my card and resign a second receipt. So much for local neighborhood service. I didn’t have a choice since I needed the tires day of or I would’ve bought online. These guys knew they could take advantage of locals.

This is a 2.5÷3 rating because the mechanics are knowledgable and good to work with.
I recently purchased a Thomson dropper post ($ 500) from them on special order for my all mountain bike. They were nice enough to offer to throw it on my bike while I was there, which I took them up on. When putting the bike on the stand they noticed my carbon frame was horribly cracked and that the bike was un-​rideable. I left the shop with my un-​rideable bike and a $ 500 dropper post that I couldn’t use. It dawned on me the next day to call, plead my case and see about a refund. Typically a shop will charge a re-​stocking fee and accommodate a return under these circumstances. Not Bothell Ski and Bike apparently. I was told store credit was the most they can do, expressed their condolences for my bike and that I might try selling it on EBay. REALLY?
In the end I’m using that credit on a few upgraded parts for the bike I just purchased at Kirkland Bicycle, so thanks for the credit guys.

These guys are super friendly, they helped me out when I was in a jam lending me tools and sharing tips on some mid-​ride repairs that I needed to make the journey home. If you find yourself stuck up the Burke Gilman without a pedal, they’ll help you out and then some.
Only knocking off a star for being expensive, a pair of tubes ended up being $ 17 dollars which is $ 7 more than what my usual stop Recycled charges.

Excellent customer service! The store associate who worked with us was very friendly and knowledgable. He took the time to explain to us the best routes to take our bike rental. Also they are not dumb and out to get your money. Just honest good local shop with a passion for biking.

Easiest bike purchasing experience I could have hoped for. Walked in and was almost immediately greeted and helped by someone. Told him what I was looking for and he escorted me to where those type of bikes are found. He did his part in trying to sell me accessories which was fine — he is in a sales job after all. Only con was that I didn’t get ‘fitted’ for the bike but since it was an entry level bike, I don’t think it really mattered all that much. Very pleasant experience, great prices (I shopped around quite a bit) and really friendly staff.

Shop is good at what they do, but a store that sells $ 2k-​$ 4k+ bikes shouldn’t nickle and dime on bench charges. I feel like an insolent prick for complaining, but I regularly get my staples here and every time I’m treated like I’m antagonising them, or I’m a sketchy dude trying to get them to rebuild a bike I’ve stolen. They’ve been condescending about bike quality, even. Who does that? You don’t have to suck up and fake some over-​the-​top customer service, but have some confidence and charm, and don’t mock your customers. It doesn’t only NOT foster a good cycling community, it turns off potential members.
I will say that the manager has been very cool, and genuine, when I’ve worked with him. When one of the other guys sold me something but hadn’t clarified what I actually needed (master chain-​link type, 9 v 10-​speed, I had a 7spd) he was apologetic, fixed the situation, and clearly took note of the employee’s oversight and insisted they be more involved in future sales, so this kind of thing didn’t happen again.
But those experiences are much rarer than the consistent dissatisfying experiences I’ve had. Is it unreasonable to expect them to do a (literally 30 second) fix for free if I’ve paid for countless other, more involved work before? Apparently, but I don’t think so. I guess that’s sound business sense, but it feels dirty, and exploitative. If I had a single alternative, I wouldn’t come here again. I’m really tempted to give them 1-​star, but they didn’t give me diarrhea or something, so I guess I’ll be civil.

Love this shop! Everyone we have dealt with has been really helpful, whether we are buying bikes, getting service or just asking dumb questions. No complaints. Love these guys!

I’ve been to Bothell Ski and Bike for everything from parts and service to a new bike purchase. They have always been professional, helpful and great to work with. I’ve recommended them to friends and will continue to do so! A great local bike shop with great people to work with.

Had a good experience here while shopping for a new composite endurance bike. They had two appropriate bikes in my size (61cm), gave good advice, and the shop is just across the street from the BG Trail for testing.
I recommend this shop.

My bike was stolen during a burglary at my house. Luckily my home owner’s policy covered it.
If you see a blue and silver LeMond Versailles with Campy wheels and a red and black rear tire, let me know.
I did a ton of shopping to find a replacement and found Bothell Ski and Bike had a few that were in my price range with the components I wanted.
I talked with the sales folks and they set me up for a ride on 3 different bikes.
This is a great store to buy a bike since the location is right across the street from the Burke. You can test ride the bikes on the flats, downhill and up hill to make sure the bike is comfortable.
After my test rides I made my decision and bought a great BH.
The sales team is great! They are really low key and want to make sure you get the right bike. The inventory was a little low since it was after Christmas, plus most people buy their bikes in the spring.
I gave them 4 stars since 5 stars in my book is nearly unattainable. Maybe if they had free espresso and gave me a free cycling jersey they could get a 5 star rating.
I highly recommend this shop if you are looking for a better quality bike.

I’ve been coming to Bothell Ski and Bike the last few years for both ski tunes/​waxes and bike service and sales — can’t say enough how awesome working with them always is. They’re friendly and have never mis-​set my expectations around how long a special order item might take or failed to keep me updated on the status of a repair. There are some other reviews here talking about icy customer service and I can’t for the life of me imagine experiencing this for myself in the shop. Even as a cyclist I sometimes expect techs to be intimidating or condescending — that’s never the case here. Special thanks to Donnie who has taken more than a few extra minutes with me to explain repairs or how to help myself the next time and avoid bringing a bike to the shop. And John is always friendly and open about pricing and timelines. Thanks guys for all you do! I’ll keep coming back!

First time here. Walked in and took awhile to be seen because everyone is busy. Kinda hectic environment when I first entered. I called in advance to see if the did wax and grinds for snowboards. They did so I figured I would give them a shot despite they are not a snowboard shop. Needless to say don’t take your snowboard to a non snowboard shop.

Shitty attitudes and poor customer service… Stopped going here a while ago. The picture I will share solidifies that very reason…

Friendly sales staff and clean store.
Better on weekends when boss is there.
High and off-​base on repair quotes, and junior staff has been rude to my kid. Inventory of commuter accessories is limited.
Be smart. Get a comparative quote from nearby Woodinville Bicycle.

BB&S never disappoints. I have purchased 3 bikes from them over the past 2 years and the service is always over the top.
I stop in every 3 months or so to get something checked out, and they consistently drop everything to help me out. They charge minimum shop charges for all of these quick fixes, and that keeps me coming back.
Their sales staff has always been super helpful. I have tried other shops like Bicycle Centres, and they refuse to help people out on the spot.
Kudos to the management and staff at BB&S. Don’t forget to tip your tech!

My family is visiting this weekend from Florida and we had the best experience renting bikes from Bothell Ski and Bike. The bikes were easy to ride and access to the Burke Gilman trail is great.
This was a really hot weekend and my mother was struggling and not sure she could make it back after riding out to Woodinville. We called the shop and Emily came out to pick up my parents and the bikes.
I call that going above and beyond in customer service. THANK YOU!
