The food was great. I got the coconut noodles w tofu and my wife got drunken noodles w tofu. Also veggie spring rolls and Thai salad. The wait however was long. There was 1 girl seating, taking calls, and waiting all the tables herself. Not sure if they were understaffed or its always like that. But that didn’t stop her from being very friendly. I’ll be back though :-)

Hubby and I went there on a Saturday evening for dinner. I had purchased it from Groupon and made a reservation. When we first arrived it was empty but filled up very fast. There was only one waitress racing from table to the kitchen. Eventually the cook had to come out and assist her. Hubby had Pad See Ewe with shrimp and I had Pad See Ewe with chicken. It was delicious but the portions were too small. The waitress was not as friendly as I would have liked but the food came out fairly quickly. I would recommend it if you’re in the neighborhood or purchased a Groupon otherwise I wouldn’t go out of my way.

This was really good, will definitely be my go-​to when I’m visiting fam in NJ. The papaya salad and the Pad Thai were very fresh and tasty, not gelatinous or sugary like a lot of ‘burby Thai places (hey-​like a lot places in NYC). The standouts were the the mango chicken, which was basically very nicely done basil chicken with fresh mango, and the duck curry. I’m not normally a duck person but it was exceptionally soft. Both of these were on the specials-​I would order more specials in the future-​it was a very intriguing menu. Amazing.

My friend and I walked in there STARVING. Our server took our order at 8pm. appetizers were out by 8:06pm.
I’ve never gotten my food so fast! To sweeten the deal, everything was perfect except the calamari. AVOID THE CALAMARI IF YOU WANT TO AVOID HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!
But OMG. everything else was delish! Fried rice, spring rolls, pad ewe? I could be spelling that completely wrong!

Our experience with Tum Thai was off to a bad start when the half hour they quoted me for a Saturday night delivery turned into an hour plus. But the woman was always polite when I called and asked about the food and when the delivery man came he literally ran to my door. I really should have known better — I think there’s a reason so few places even offer delivery!
Onto the food — it was delicious. We ordered the Crispy Chicken and Scallion Pancakes for appetizers. Both were great and my husband especially liked the chicken. I even liked it and fried chicken is not my thing at all. For entrees I got the Mixed Vegetables with Tofu and hubby got the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Not only were both delicious, but the portion sizes were substantial. I didn’t even finish mine, which pretty much never happens. I will definitely be ordering from here in the future — I think next time I’ll just pick up. :)

First time here and we were not disappointed. Dumplings and Crab Rangoon for appetizers. My wife had the Drunken Noodles and I had the Ginger Joy. Everything was excellent. The Ginger Joy was an explosion of flavor. Service was very good (but then, we were the only customers).

Loved the basil fried rice and panang curry. Warning — they definitely make their food spicy if you ask for it! But that’s a good thing. It’s also modestly priced.
This is definitely the new best Thai in the immediate area, including places in Cranford and Westfield.

My boyfriend and I like to order from here quite often. I have had their curries and drunken noodles, all of which are delicious. For an appetizer, I love their coconut soup.
Nothing we ordered seemed spicy enough though and I have to remember to ask for extra spicy next time.
Their delivery is also quite prompt and prices are reasonable. This is definitely a nice Thai restaurant to order from.

I will say that it does surprise me and make me a little sad that they’re not busier, because their food is so great! I’ve been to many different Thai restaurants thoughout the NJ/​NY area and Tum Thai is one of the best! Every single dish I’ve had has been excellent! Love their Pad Thai and Tom Kha Soup, it’s so flavorful and just tried their green curry the other night and it was really delicious! I have never been dissapointed with my meals.
The one time I did order the avocado salad and forgot the dressing when I came back they told me that they would have just delivered it to me as they offer delivery, unbeknownst to me! Eddy, the owner is very sweet and always friendly as well as the woman at the front counter.
I only hope they grow more popular so I can keep my favorite Thai place close!

I have been looking for a local Thai restaurant for a long time. Excellent spring rolls, fabulous panang shrimp curry. I gave only 4 stars being the rice sent with curry meal was small. Not enough to use all the curry with it. I will def order again, delivery was fast and friendly.

Randomly came across Tum Thai, however, the food was absolutely delicious and flavorful.
I’ve been looking for a Thai food place to frequent and I think I found it… On top of that, THEY DELIVER!
They’re newly open and food is definitely fresh and made to order. I would highly recommend this place to anyone near the area in the mood for really good authentic Thai food in a beautiful little restaurant.
Great for a nice lunch or dinner.
I had the Panang Curry. Portions are fulfilling and the taste will please you.
Definitely a must try!

Mango salad was good, had a little spice to it, could have had more mangos. Pineapple curry was delicious, just the right amount of spice. Massaman was good, had basil in it and strong beans. Pad Thai chicken good also, had oddly thin noodles.

Ordered red curry and pineapple fried rice; right on the money! We are Indians and love spicy food. Could of used an extra notch of heat however it was still very tasty! Will definitely go back for more! Eddie, our fantastic server turned out to be the owner; very hands on. And as we were leaving the chef was outside and was very friendly and had clean clothes on– always a plus!

Recommendations:
Pad Thai
Food: I ordered the lunch special Pad Thai, which comes with 3 pieces of shumai and salad. The packaging looks small, but you get a LOT of food. One suggestion would be to allow customers to pick level of spiciness. The Pad Thai is listed with a chili pepper on the menu, but is not very spicy. The accompanying shumai and salad compliment the main course well.
Staff: Staff is very friendly and the food arrives quickly.
Ambiance: See attached photo. The restaurant looks modern and clean and has a nice central water display.
Value: Lunch specials are around $ 7 – 8 depending on your choice of vegetable or meat. Very affordable and as I previously mentioned, the quantity is very sufficient. Check-​in via Unilocal for a 10% off promo!

I want to like this place a lot, but for some reason to me it’s missing its authenticity. It tastes more like Chinese food disguised by a Thai menu. When i eat Thai food I expect heat/​spice and to me it tasted a bit bland. The curry I ordered about a month ago was actually pretty decent. I will likely give it another chance but I am hoping to get that true authentic Thai flavor
The service is excellent and the gentleman at the door is very nice. Interior is very nice.

New restaurant, new dishes. We had pinapple chicken, mango chicken, sweet and sour chicken and a thai garlic dish. All were good, my favorite was the pineapple chicken.

Everything is perfect here. The Thai food is made outstanding (we try the duck curry. Mango chicken and chicken satay). I heared that the chef is from Thai. So this is good place to try the authentic Thai food. Manger is a nice guy, Giving us 10%off. Service is very good as well. In one word, this is good place to satisfied your stomach.
