I had a wonderful first experience working with Buttons & Threads! I needed to alter my 7 year old son’s dress pants for a wedding he is walking and had to find someone quickly… I came across Buttons & Threads here on Unilocal and called. I got an immediate response, dropped the pants off the same day, and picked them up 2 days later! I was concerned because the pants were huge on my very thin son, so I thought it would either be impossible to fix, or it might come out odd looking, but I was wrong. The job was impeccably done and there was no visible sign that the pants were even altered! I’m so happy with my experience and I look forward to working with them again!

Martha did a beautiful job! I brought her my wedding dress to do some alterations on the front because I wanted the neck line to be a little deeper. She said it would be no problem. I also talked to her about putting some embellishments around the neckline, straps, and back. She explained to me how I would need a material that could curve to the dress in order to make sure it would look seamless. I looked all over but in the end she was the one that found the material for the dress and added some bling to it to make it look even better. I was having a destination wedding so I needed it in a timely manner and she worked with me to make sure it was done with more than enough time. The dress came out beautiful! Besides that the work was amazing the cost was beyond reasonable. Definitely take your outfit to Martha.

Martha does beautiful work! She made 4 pillows with piping and zippers. She is reasonable and prompt. I am also having her make a tablecloth and cushion cover. Highly recommend!

MARTHA IS A LIFE SAVER. IF YOU NEED ALTERATIONS BUTTONS AND THREAD IS THE PLACE TO GO. I had bought a dress online for prom that ended up being too long and loose on the front, I was desperately looking on Unilocal for someone to help me fix my dress to my liking but not everyone is trust worthy according to some reviews I saw on other alteration pages. Thank god I came across Buttons and Thread with zero negative reviews I was convinced this was the place for me, Martha and I exchanged some emails and she was super sweet, I immediately booked my appointment. Upon arrival she was very welcoming and right off the start I knew I was in the right hands. I had the fitting and dropped off my dress and it was due very fast which I was very happy about, I was super excited to finally try it on. I can honestly say Martha is the queen of doing alterations, I was beyond happy with how my dress came out. She has magic hands! The length of it now is PERFECT and the straps fit great now with no bother whatsoever. I can move around with the heels I will wear for prom and I no longer step on the dress at all. Her prices are great and she’s very professional, her work is beyond amazing. I can’t put into words how happy I am to have found someone I can trust when it comes to alterations. I will continue to refer my family and friends to her and will FOR SURE be coming back in the future for anything I need fixed. Thank you so much Martha you’re the best!

I found Martha on Unilocal looking to alter a wedding dress. Tip: don’t buy anything online being 6ft tall and expect to be able to walk in it (never again). Unfortunately there wasn’t enough material for her to alter. However she didn’t say there was and charge me for something that she knew wouldn’t work. She even called afer wards and tried to make a suggestion that could have worked had the dress been longer. Overall she was incredibly helpful and has a great business. I’m sure her work is great as well. If you’re looking for an alteration I would definitely suggest her. Very professional and fair.

I found Martha on Unilocal while searching for a seamstress. You see, my friend and I had our nursing school graduation/​pinning ceremony coming up and we needed our nurse dresses altered. I had mine taken in and the length shortened. My friend had the same.
After contacting Martha, she agreed to see us on New Years Day! We arrived at her home where she greeted us and showed us to her little work studio. We shared our concerns and worries (we were a little panicked) and she reassured us that she could make our dresses look perfect! After pinning us, we could already see the difference! We were no longer worried and we were actually excited to wear the nurse dresses (which we thought were hideous at first).
A couple days later, we got a text that our dresses were ready! When I arrived, my dressed was perfectly pressed and everything! I tried it on and it fit beautifully!
If you are thinking of using Martha, do it! You won’t regret it! Her prices are very reasonable and she’s truly an artist. She’s so sweet too!

My favorite thing about home-​based businesses is the personal experience, which we definitely received. Martha, the owner and seamstress, took us in on Christmas Eve morning and offered to have the hemming of our pants ready for pick up the very next day. Of course, I declined, because who should work on Christmas?! But the fact that she wanted us to pick up our garment whenever it was convenient for us, even on such a huge holiday, shows that she truly cares about her clients needs.
The pants in question were hemmed to perfection. In fact, her work was of a quality higher than the stitching the pants originally came with!
I’m currently rummaging through my closet to see what I can finally get fixed up now that I found Martha! Call her up and make an appointment. You won’t be sorry– her timeliness, customer service, and skill TRULY can’t be beat.

The thing about alterations in Miami is, EVERYONE «knows how to do them» however that’s not the case at all. You either get your clothes ruined or you’re paying an arm & leg for their services.
My experience with Button and Thread was perfect! I called Martha, we scheduled and appointment, and the rest is history! She is very friendly and professional with reasonable prices. I will definitely save her number for my future alterations and would recommend if you require any professional sewing or alteration services.
