Revis Keizer Automotive

We had a very important trip planned to see family until dreaded car trouble struck the day before. We took our car to Revis to be looked at and the crew got us back on the road the SAME DAY. The issues were due to poor work by a previous mechanic, and the Revis mechanics were great about explaining exactly what was wrong. The front desk crew was also super friendly and easy for my female better half to talk to, and they even gave her a ride home while the car was being worked on… Great family business with a great outlook on taking care of the community!

I’ve been having electrical problems with my car for some time now — a bunch of dash lights come on and go off with no rhyme or reason to them at all times of the day or night whether I’m driving a long distance or just around the corner, and the voltage gauge in the instrument panel indicated that the battery was being over-​charged. Since this started over the past couple of months, I’ve taken my car in to several different places, all of whom have had differing ideas and opinions of what the problem was/​is, including such things as a bad battery (the battery is 2 months old), a defective alternator and/​or voltage regulator (the alternator was replaced a year ago), or failing instrument panels (there are 2 different panels involved in the wayward lights). I needed someone who could tell me once and for all if these parts of the electrical system were indeed malfunctioning; I needed someone I could trust and who would be honest and up-​front.
Keizer Automotive was recommended to me by the manager of a local oil-​change franchise as a place that would treat me kindly and do a good job for me — both things that I highly treasure in a mechanic. I travel full-​time and finding an honest reliable mechanic on the road is hard to come by. (I had gone to the local Jiffy Lube because that’s who sold me the battery, in another state, where I found out that batteries are only warranted by the franchise store that sold them in the first place. Aaron the Manager poked around, tightening up the ground wires, and recommending that I take it to a shop with full electrical system investigation services.) I stopped in at Keizer Automotive to talk to the service manager, Luke — he listened to me (something not every mechanic does to an older woman) and said that he could schedule my vehicle in for electrical testing that would tell me what, if anything, was wrong with it, all for fifty bucks. I made an appointment for the following Monday morning.
After an hour with my car, the report came back that the battery was being properly charged (not overcharged, as the lights going on and off might indicate), the alternator was functioning properly, and they could find nothing wrong in the electrical system. Whether or not it was Jiffy Lube Aaron’s poking around that fixed the issue, we’ll never know, but I no longer have any lights flashing on and off and the gauge shows that the alternator is charging properly. I cannot tell you how nice it is to have the knowledge, once and for all, that my car’s electrical system is functioning properly!
If you’re looking for an honest mechanic, someone who’ll tell you what’s what with your car or truck, I recommend giving Keizer Automotive a try. The current owners took over in May 2015 so disregard any reviews posted here that are from before that time. The new owners are intent on providing good mechanical repair in the Salem/​Keizer area — they’ll be my go-​to mechanics whenever I’m back in the area, even if I’m just passing through.

I have a 2013 Ford Fusion; purchased «new» to me, but used none the less. Shortly after purchasing the car, the door latch on the passenger side stopped working. I took it to Ford right away and was told it would cost me $ 110 just to LOOK at it. I left and went to Keizer Automotive, now Revis Automotive.
Doug, the owner, met me personally and confirmed it was not safe to drive. He fit me in and said he would try to find a fix. He went to work right away and called me while I was out of town and kept me up to speed on the progress. Ultimately, the car had a recall which will replace all the door locks… for FREE. He also found another recall for the car and called the OTHER Ford dealership to make arrangements for me… something he didn’t have to do at all
These guys go the extra mile every time! I had no history with Doug and his new staff, but had gone there for years. He not only met the old service expectations but exceeded them! No charge for what was at least two to three hours of work and calling around for me. I WILL BE BACK!!! Thank you Doug… you are changing the stereotype of the standard car repair shop who fixes stuff that doesn’t need work, etc. Glad to have Doug and his crew in Keizer! If you had any doubts about trying them out… forget about it. THEY ROCK!

My radiator was overheating (and leaking) and I had to go somewhere nearby. They were booked, but they had me drop off my car with the slight possibility that they could squeeze me in. They drove me back to my home, and I prepared to wait for the rest of the afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised when they called me back within an hour with an estimate. About a ½ hour before closing time, they told me the radiator replacement was complete and they sent a car for me. Five stars for friendly and thorough customer service and 5 stars for going the extra mile for squeezing me in short notice.

My family has been going to Keizer Automotive for a long time. They are honest and trustworthy. In my most recent experience the owner was talking about diagnosing my car and said, «I don’t want to waste your money.» How many mechanics have that attitude these days?

Seems to be an OK place to get a car fixed. I took my car there once last year and they did a quick job fixing the radiator. I recently took it in when my car died and they got to looking at it pretty quickly (next day). They quoted me for a fuel pump ($ 750), which appeared a bit high.
Their costs for completing a diagnostic are $ 49 or $ 85 max (if it goes over an hour). Again, it appeared high, but I don’t really know the going rate. Some tow companies in the area have keys to the lot after hours (although BC towing apparently does not).
