The Main Salon

I was meeting my friend in Keene later on in the day and needed time to kill. I live in Manchester and all the salons I went to were booked solid. My cousin’s girlfriend (who goes to Keene State College) recommended the salon because it was close to downtown so I booked a partial highlight and a haircut.
The ambiance is really cute. In addition to being clean, it has a lot of characters with vintage hand mirrors on the wall and shadow boxes with antique hair styling products which I thought was a nice touch.
I got there 15 minutes early and Amanda took me in right away. Typically I’m awkward about small talk in the salon chair but before I knew it Amanda and I were talking about everything from Deflategate to boys. I felt like I was meeting an old friend.
She did a great job with my highlights. I like to get the partial to help break up my roots and she gave me a super low-​maintenance cute cut. She really went above the extra mile and offered to curl my hair for me sincr I was meeing my friend.
My whole service cost $ 105 which was a pretty good deal (I’m used to NY salon prices). If I didn’t live over an hour away, this is where I would get my hair done.
I highly recommend this salon whether you’re a local or just a student at Keene State. It’s in a nice location and the staff are super friendlt.

Overall good experience, fairly priced. Auna trimmed my hair and did an amazing job, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave me EXACTLY what I asked for and I will definitely be going back.
Only negative I feel is the selection of products, only Paul Mitchell and Redken, and at times it felt a little rushed.

Rude staff except the girl who does waxing
Went in to ask about getting nails done and besides three women shouting out answers I didn’t even ask them, they were too busy doing each others nails to schedule me
I walked right out without making an appointment. again just RUDE

Pretty nice place on main street. I went in to get a waxing service done and the woman who did the waxing was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. She seemed a bit in a rush but still did a good job.

I love this salon. It’s clean and the stylists are friendly and helpful. It’s one thing to get a good haircut when you have good hair. But, when your hair is fine, thin or problematic in some way… that’s when you need a good stylist.
My stylist is Kim — she’s the best!
