Staples the Office Superstore

I’d rather support a locally-​owned business than a chain any day of the week, but this Staples is consistently good (& honestly where is someone supposed to buy printer cartridges & printer paper besides a national chain…). They always have what I need & the staff is helpful & polite.

As the owner of several independent small businesses I can say I’m not a huge fan of chains. However, I do go to Staples from time to time. My usual experience has been to run in, get what I need and run out. But yesterday I needed some help and it was promptly offered (as usual) so instead of rejecting it (as usual) I asked the associate some questions and having had a hard couple of weeks I was less than coherent yet this young man was all smiles and helpful as well as knowledgeable and patient. I thought maybe it was just his personality but when I went to pay, the young woman at the register was really sweet as well. So, if nothing else, their employees are flawlessly trained. Nice to put a human face to a big box store :)
