Description

Specialties

At Elm City Bagels we make every bagel using a generations old recipe using only the freshes ingredients, the true «New York» traditional boil and bake method.

We offer spectacular taste choices, made to order all day… whether a sandwich at 6 am or breakfast at 2 pm. Our sandwiches are made with the finest meats, cheeses and local veggies served on a wide assortment of our homemade bread and bagels, wraps or Cibatta rolls. We make all our bagels and bread from scratch. It doesn’t stop there, our famous jumbo muffins, giant cookies and hand mixed cream cheese varieties are measured and mixed in-house too. We are the only local business in Keene that makes their product on-site and bakes it fresh daily. We love what we do and it shows in our food.

Whether you’re meeting with friends for pleasure or business, Elm City Bagels can cater your event. As a small, family run business we will work with you personally to assure your catered event fullfills your expectations.

History

Established in 1996.

Elm City Bagels opened it’s doors hoping to introduce Keene to genuine New York style bagels, using a traditional boiled and baked process. We were embraced by the community and continued to grow in the variety of foods we offered, eventually adding homemade bread, grilled sandwiches and melts. Our customers became our friends and we have a fun base of regulars who keep us smiling. It’s been over fourteen years and we still love what we do.

Business Owner

Working for a 4th generation bagel maker in Vermont, I realized I loved the whole process of making a freshly made bagel from scratch. From working the dough, to forming the bagel, to the aroma in the oven… I was hooked. My employer was generous enough to teach me his family «secrets» for making the best bagels, breads, muffins and cookies all from scratch that had been handed down from the Goldberg family generation to generation. Eventually, he sold his bagel store and I decided to try to find a small community to open my own shop. After looking around New England, my family and I decided Keene was perfect. We haven’t regretted our choice for a single minute. We love it here and we love our bagels!
