Johns Brook Lodge is the only backcountry hikers lodge in the Adirondacks.
History
Established in 1925.
Johns Brook Lodge (JBL) was the first lodge owned by the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK). The property was purchased in 1924, just a few years after the club formed. JBL opened its doors in 1925. The lodge staff take pride in the long history of mountain hospitality that JBL represents.

I have been the Johns Brook Property Coordinator since October 2011. I started working for the ADK as a Summit Steward in June 2006. I take great pride in helping further ADK’s mission of protecting and promotion the responsible recreational use of the NYS Forest Preserve by providing a comfortable and relaxing place for people stay in the backcountry. When not working I enjoy hiking, backpacking, canoeing, backcountry skiing, and photography.
