quality of the sushi is pretty low. maybe the cooked food is better. Stay away from the sushi though! J&J Sushi is a better choice.

Probably going to have to throw out my menu from this place I ordered delivery food which is a shrimp pad Thai for myself and a sashimi bento box for my boyfriend at 5:51 it is now 6:58 and I just got off the phone with them and they said it will be about another 20 mins and I understand they may be busy but I could have made a homemade meal in the hr and ½ that I’m going to be waiting but it is Sunday and wanted takeout … Hopefully it is only another 20 mins and not more also I’m hoping the food is at least half way decent… going to give it two stars because I haven’t actually had any food yet crossing my fingers and hoping it actually comes!

Seriously. This place. Delicious. Seriously. If you haven’t tried Indonesian food. You must go here. It is a new thing here but they make it like home! Try Nasi goreng! They say indo food is the best kept secret in Asian food!

Far from even good sushi. Tried it because it was convenient, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

TERRIBLEEXPERIENCE: DONOTORDERFROMTENDO! I was attempting to place a delivery order for a large lunch special purchase. 20MINUTESONTHEPHONE, and did not even receive my order! No one speaks English and the one placing my order hung up on me. They advertise cheaper prices online than they actually charge! I asked to speak to a manager about the prices but no one was able to help me. What established business would choose to loose out on an order as well as future orders due to their own mistake of false advertisement?! Clearly this place will not be in business much longer… hopefully!

The quality of the food had gone shockingly down hill. Not only do they now charge for delivery but the fish was clearly not fresh. I will never order from here again.

They have changed hands, and for the better… The sushi chef is a very pleasant woman from Indonesia and the place is much cleaner and more professional than before. Sushi is fresh and the combos offer decent value. This place is very customer friendly and you won’t mind spending a little more than less healthy alternatives because good food is medicine for the body and soul! Try the sushi and sashimi combo that will feed a couple for $ 24.95

Food is good. Sometimes the rolls are hit or miss depending on who’s making them. The orders are usually accurate. Only turnoff was I saw a roach on the counter when I went to pick up. I’ve worked in kitchens and I know it’s sometimes unavoidable but that was kinda gross. Some of the best chinese though is from dirty little holes in the wall.

Careful with Credit Cards! CHARGEDTWICEANDDIDNOTREFUND! I had the worst experience with Tendo. I ordered and payed with my Credit Card and a week later I found two charges instead of one. I called and the lady that picked up the phone did not want to be responsible for anything. She said that the owner had to go to the store to take care of this but I kept calling and he was never there. I gave my information and nobody had the decency to call back to address this issue. They charged me an extra $ 40 out of the blue, three days after the original purchase! The last time I called the lady said«it is not my business, it is not my problem». I asked for the manager or owner’s contact information and she said«the owner does not speak English». She yelled at me and she said«this is not my problem, don’t call again». Worst customer experience ever, especially when they made mistake. Their sushi is not even good. Not worth the trouble. If you want good sushi in the Newark area go to Nizi. Much better and they are actually professional.

This is not the best sushi. It is not the freshest or the most amazing mix of flavors. But if you want to grab lunch nearby or for dinner it is not a bad option. Nearby you have Chinatown, Sakura Sushi, and over in Newark Nizi Sushi. I would recommend Nizi if you can go that far, Sakura if you can’t(for the price). Tendo has a larger menu and more options and are definitely less of a cafeteria feel than Sakura near the PATH station, but they need to scale back on their options and focus on providing fresher ingredients. They do use better rice than Sakura however. We had the sushi sashimi meal for 2 and tried many of their options. We liked the sushi okay but weren’t impressed by the sashimi.

Decent Asian food for the area, not as cheap as you’d expect though – * sesame chicken wasn’t as crispy as my bf liked * duck soba — duck tasted frozen, but the broth wasn’t terrible($ 12) I’d say this place is more for take-out than for dine-in.

Since there aren’t many sushi places in Kearny/Harrison, this place wins the award for best in town. Since opening, my wife and I are frequent customers. The place is probably a bit too small to eat in but great for take-out. There’s a lot of variety on their menu and they have something most restaurants in the area do not have. Online ordering. You can even do it on your mobile device. Oh and I love their Jalapeño roll and Japanese Fried Rice.

We get takeout from here all the time. It’s pretty good for Japanese food that’s delivered. I’ve had better but I’ve also had much much worse. If you’re craving Japanese food and dont want to leave the house, I would suggest you order delivery from Tendo. You won’t be disappointed.
