Started going as a kid living in Kearny. Moved to Florida many many years ago but always drive through Kearny to get the best Italian sub I have ever had! Usually have to get several wrapped good to bring on flight back to Florida as the whole family loves them. I now have a 22 year old and 16 year old that can’t wait to get a sub from Big Stash.

Being a Jersey Girl I grew up on a good sub sandwich from local places, in my adult life I favor Jersey Mikes, but this place is killerrrrr the bread is fresh and perfect cut. maybe it’s the bread, maybe it’s the water whatever it is you will come back for more…

I have had plenty of subs from different locations around New Jersey, and I can honestly say that these are the best I have ever had! The Belly Buster is a must try!

Been coming here for many years and the sandwiches were always a perfect balance, lately(More than once) not enough meat. I hope they raise the price and go back to that perfect balance!

I grew up in Kearny down the street from Stash’s and have always remembered having their subs. Now whenever I go back to visit family, grabbing a sub is always one of my first stops(my fam & friends tease me about needing to get a sub, they just don’t understand what it’s like moving around and not finding a great sub like Stash’s. I have yet to find a sub shop that compares. :-)). The cold cuts are sliced fresh for every sub, every time. They’re not pre-sliced kept in containers like other places. The bread, veggies… they’re always fresh too. I’m talking so much about it, I just made myself want one. Time to plan a trip home. If you’re in town, stop in and try one(if you’ve never had one), you won’t be disappointed.

We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the belly buster. Both were very good! The Philly cheesesteak had a good amount of onions and peppers in addition to the meat and cheese. The size of the belly buster was pretty intimidating. The different variety of cuts combined with a lot of lettuce, tomato, and onions made for a very satisfying meal. This place is cash only.

My wife surprised me with 26-foot subs from Big Stash’s for my birthday and I couldn’t be any happier! We’ve never had subs from here before but I’m sure glad she checked Unilocal before picking a place to order from. We got one belly buster and one roast beef and everyone greatly enjoyed both, with the belly buster being the fan favorite. The subs were enormous and the meat and toppings were plentiful. Also, the guy behind the counter was extremely nice and courteous; thank you!

Been coming here at least 20 plus years The belly buster is wonderful without question. The meatball also good. The folks here are awesome. The quality and amount of meats you get in a sandwich are worth every penny. Cash only though! There is a chase ATM down the street

Just had the belly buster which I really enjoyed. It hit the spot, I’m sure I’ll be back. Well I came back for the tuna, boy what a disappointment. Avoid the tuna here, imagine taking tuna and throwing it in a blender, that was the consistency and there was so much mayo on it I’m not even sure it was tuna.

If you’re driving too fast you might just miss it! So I’m actually glad that Kearny Ave is filled with traffic lights and marked as a 25mph zone or I might have never stumbled upon this place! This hole in the wall sub shop never disappoints. Try the pastrami(hot) with swiss and caramalized onions. Also their roast beef with everything on it hits the spot! Bread is fresh and tasty. Call ahead just in case it’s busy. There’s not much room to sit and eat but there are a couple of spots to snag.

I had lunch here yesterday and it was really, really good! The guys behind the counter remind me of two guys you’d grab a beer with — very nice people. The cheesesteak sub was excellent and the bread was very fresh. Can’t ask for more when it comes to getting a good sub!

A real gem for any real Jerseyian. Straight to the point no frills sandwiches that are made to order and to pick up. Just from the outside this place has history, and the sign is a thing of beauty for any foodie. Skip subway, skip Blimpie’s because Big Stash’s wipes the floor with all of those 2-bit joints. The bellybuster is a solid go to sandwich that is sure to please!

The Belly Buster was pretty good. Meatball was suspect. The Brazilian homie was cool tho! That is all.

When X Ray Burns of WFMU frequents a sandwich shop and endorses it, you had better believe it is the best. Huge fresh sub sandwiches served on amazing wide soft italian loaves stacked with quality meats, cheeses and a small variety of fresh veggie topings. Small is big enough for a fatass and the large will last you a day. I shared two large subs with my brother: the«Belly Buster» Italian sub, and the hot pastrami and cheese, we ate half a sub each, shared them and still had food leftover for a midnight snack and a ¼ each the next day for brunch. The meats, cheeses and bread were so high quality, I may never step in to a Subway again, its blasphemy once youve had a REALSUB at Stash’s. This place is worth the trip from Bloomfield.

I grew up around the corner and I’m afraid to think of how many subs(and Clinton’s iced teas) I ordered from Big Stash’s back in the day. And a lot of people turned their backs on Stash’s when American Hero opened in Lyndhurst which never made any sense to me. I’m a fan of both places but my heart will always belong to Stash’s. (How can you not love a place that has a fake autographed picture of Scott Baio hanging in their store?!)
